Toontown - Date for closing?

Do we know how much longer we'll be able to visit Toontown? My kids love it and we're planning a trip to the world in 2010. Just wondering if I could squeak in a trip in 2010 prior to it closing!! Thanks for any info...

I've been trying to find this out myself. From what I've read, Disney has not said when it will close. What they have said (at the D23 conference) is that there will be two phases for the expansion. The first part that will be completed is the princess area (for lack of a better word), which is part of where 20,000 Leagues and Pooh used to be. That should be completed in 2012. Pixie Hollow is the next phase and that's supposed to be done in 2013. My guess is that Toon Town is safe for now for the next year or so, but again, it's just a guess based on what Disney has put out there.

When Disney does renovations/additions, they're usually very careful not to interfere with guests' experiences too much, so I'm guessing there won't be a wholesale renovation going on all at once, but rather as one part is completed (phase I) then the next phase will begin.

OH MY! I hadn't heard about this before. I am so upset. My three girls and I have taken a picture in Minnie's gazebo every time we go to WDW (about every other year) and it is so neat to see how they have grown and changed while being in the same picture spot!

Oh, NO!!! I so hope it at least lasts through Jan 2010. My little girl is so looking forward to Minnie's House!!!
