Hi! Long time follower first time poster! We just recently got back from an 11 day trip back in May. It was amazing! Now I am hoping to go back in Oct 2016. The plan is 23 days. Too long? It will just be the two of us.

I think that is totally up to you. I can't imagine being in any place for 23 days unless you are planning to see the rest of Orlando.

My husband and I got married at WDW in 2010. We spent 23 days there for our wedding and honeymoon. We did do 3 days at universal and hit both waterparks for full days but it was wonderful to know if we were tired we could go back to the room and nap because we had so much time... I'd love to do another long trip. Our next WDW trip will probably be two weeks as we did one week in 2012 and it really wasn't enough for us anymore :)

Would you be visiting other area attractions US, Kennedy Space Center, Sea World, etc? The longest I've ever stayed at WDW was 11 days and I was ready for home by the time we left. I can't imagine spending more than 3 weeks there. It would be too long for ME, but everyone is different.

Welcome to the Board

WOW 11 days, how wonderful. We are staying 8, wish it were 11. Only you can decide about the length. My husband would freak, 2 days at disney are toooooo long for him but he is a good sport for his girls' sake. Now if he could spend a week in the ESPN bar, he may be happier. Me, I could stay probably 2 weeks, but would probably be ready to come home. My daughters are the same. We would be ready to hit home by that time, and it would not be as special.

That being said, every family is different. If you work hard all year and this is your form of fun and relaxation, you should go for it.

Again, WELCOME would love to hear about your trip :)

It would be too long for us, but it really is an individual thing. We have friends that go for 2 weeks every year and wish they could stay more. We have tried longer and shorter vacations and find 6-8 days are really our max for this type of vacation. If we were headed to a relaxing vacation at the beach, lake or with friends we stay longer without any desire to get back to normal life. With Disney, we find by day 8 we are ready to go and recover at home.:good vibes I am guessing that if you wanted more after the 11 days trip you will be fine. Timing may be the key. 23 days in October/November would allow for F&W, MNSSHP, MVCP and the holiday activities would certainly help to keep things fresh. We usually spend at least 2-3 days at F&W alone if we can go in October.

I love WDW, but there's no way I would spend 23 consecutive days there. Way too many other places in this world to experience.

We went to WDW for almost 6 weeks last year, no it's not too long. :thumbsup2 Aside from 2 days at Sea World and a 4 Day Disney Cruise, we were at WDW every other day and it was amazing

That would be 3 weeks, For 2 people I think it would be doable, But I would strongly suggest, renting a car, and checking out what Florida has to offer, maybe some day trips to the beach, Clearwater, Cocoa, Fort Desoto Park, Sand Key, Kennedy Space center, maybe even St. Augustine. Lego Land, and of course the other Parks. Also there are so neat places to Eat in Orlando, Cafe' Tutu Tango (sp?), Charlie steak house. Also lots of Outlet malls.

WE do around 17 days. ALL disney well last year we did a Disney cruise for 5 of it. But this year all disney we never get bored. In fact last year I wish we had more disney time to get more stuff done. Not so much the parks or WP. BUt a pool day or 2 would have been nice.

For me, that would be too long. I don't like being away from home that long and probably couldn't afford to be anyway LOL

That said, I am planning a 14 day trip for next year. We're going to do a villa so we can have a kitchen and laundry in room. I know that there's no way I could eat out every meal for 2 weeks so we'll have some meals planned in the room. I am also only going to get 10 day tickets and plan on only spending 1/2 days in the parks for the most part. We're going to do some other things around Orlando and just spend a lot of time enjoying the resorts.

Id say if you're thinking about it, it may be worth trying. It's def too long for us, but we are Florida residents, so we would rather go 5+ times a year over a few days each time.

There's much to do in the area other than Disney

I love Florida, but if I were to spend more than 2 weeks at WDW, I might get restless. :) It's all a matter of perspective and personal preference! Good luck with your planning!

Last time we were at Disney we met a fantastic family from England at Disney for a month. They told us a lot of English families stay for extended periods. He said they were having a BLAST!

I dont think it is too long. We are going this fall from October 1-21st. On average we usually do two trips of 12-13 days each year so this will be the longest so far. We spend the entire time on property. I do see how some people could find it to be too much, but we love it!

I have no idea how you didn't go nuts.

23 days would be way too long for me. Two weeks would be too long for me to be honest. Somewhere between a week and 10 days is probably just about perfect for us.

It would be way too long for me in one hotel room, if staying onsite without a car and eating Disney food the whole time.

I could totally enjoy a three-week trip if I was renting a car, staying offsite in a villa of some kind, with a living room and a kitchen, where I could prepare meals and keep groceries. :)

I don't think it's too long at all and I would totally do it if I had the time & money.

It would allow for a much more laid back and relaxed vacation. I would probably do multiple split stays to enjoy different resorts and fully take advantage of non park activities like the pools, boat rentals, etc... I would also plan day trips to other areas of interest like Kennedy Space Centre, the beach, US, etc...

We can only go once every 18 months. We have to travel from Australia. The flights alone are 25 hours from take off to touch down. We roughly have a 30 hour commute from the time we leave home to the time we just arrive in Orlando. It takes us a day or two to properly get settled and rested to really start to tour the parks. It takes us an extra day to get back home because we have to stop overnight in Los Angeles. We lose at least 3-4 days of total travel. Flights cost approx $2000-$2500. So these reasons we always go for a longer time period less often. If we did 7-10 days, by the time we got settled, it would be time to pack and come home again.

We don't go from park open to close. We usually sleep in, often arrive at the parks at 11am but stay until close (we love 3am MK closes) If we don't feel like going to a park, we won't. We swim, we hit DTD, we might go into the park just for an ADR. We prefer to hit the parks at a more relaxed pace.Last trip we had Food & Wine, MNSSHP (did 3 parties - amazing) MVMCP (ended up at 4 parties - wonderful) If we did a short trip, we would feel too planned and too pressured to fit it all in, especially since we wouldn't be back for another 18 months.

We are going back in January & February for 5 weeks and we can't wait!

I think it would be awesome. We generally do 9-10 days. I think it would give you a chance to do other activities in and around Orlando as well as the other non-Disney parks at a relaxing pace. If you had that long, you wouldn't have to run around to get everything done.

I would totally love to do this if I had the vacation time and the money. Everyone is different, and that may be too long to just be on vacation and away from home for some. I once went on a 30 day trip to Europe. While we toured 7 different countries, it was an amazing trip. It definitely wasn't too long for me. I was in college then. On our honeymoon, we spent 15 days in Hawaii and that was also amazing. At this point in my life, I couldn't take that much time away from work, but I definitely wish I could.

Wow. I hope at least one of those three weeks is a cruise! :rotfl: Start planning accordingly.

The most I've ever done was 5 day Hopper at WDW in 2008. When we left, it was 'thank goodness we are done'. and we WERE DONE. In fact, we were so done, we didn't come back until last year 2013 :rotfl2:

Unless you are looking to live there part time (ie snowbird esc or shopping relocating etc) 23 days is a long time. You can certainly split up universal and WDW and SW and a Disney Cruise and other stuff, but after 10 days, I couldn't WAIT to get home! (And then after about a week, and had caught up with my dogs, I couldn't wait to leave again! :hyper:)

I'd rather take 2 ten day trips than have 1 twenty day trip. How bout splitting up one of those trips for Disneyland out west, etc?

Gotta vary it up some I would think...
