Too many character meals???

It really depends on personal taste. It would be too many for me, but I don't care for buffets. We tend to limit our character dining to one meal with Mickey & friends, one with the Princesses, and sometimes a third for characters not at either of the first two (like Ohana for Lilo & Stitch or Crystal Palace for Pooh & friends). I prefer a quieter meal than character dining offers, so we do a select few for the characters we most want to meet and then look for other characters in the parks.

We have the basic dining plan (7 TS meals). I have 6 character meals booked. Is that too many? This is what we have.....

Chef Mickey's (dinner)
CRT (breakfast)
Princess Storybook (dinner)
1900 Park Fare (dinner)
Ohana (breakfast)
Tusker house (breakfast)

We will have 7 park days (8 days total at WDW). I don't want to over do it but don't want to miss out either! All but 2 are on different days.

Too many character meals?????? NEVER!:rotfl:

During our(DW, DD2,ME) last trip we did
S-1900 (dinner)
M-Crystal Palace (breakfast)
T- Hollywood & Vine (breakfast)
W- 1900 (breakfast)
W- Chef Mickey's (dinner)
T- Akershus Princess Breakfast
F- Crystal Palace (dinner)

It was nice because we saw a lot of characters that we didn't have to see while in the parks. We also did some adult meals- Le Cellier(dinner), Jiko(dinner), Tony's(dinner), 'Ohana(dinner). We had a blast and thinking of doing some of the same character meals next time..... and trying a few new ones as well!

I think you list is fine. Your kids will love you for it!!! LOL

We LOVE the characters but would not want to eat so many buffet/family styles meals in a week. We usually do 2 character meals during our 7 - 12 day stays.

Have fun!

Cool - are you going to every different location, or are you doubling up, like CMs for both breakfast AND dinner?

Here's what we have lined up:
Sat - Hollywood & Vine bfast at 8am before rope drop
Sun - Cape May Cafe bfast at 7:40am
Mon - Akersus at 8:05am before Epcot rope drop
Mon - Garden Grill dinner
Tue - Tusker House bfast at 8am before AK rope drop
Wed - Ohana bfast at 7:30am before MK rope drop
Wed - 1900 Park dinner
Thurs - CP lunch
Fri - Hollywood & vine lunch
Sat - 1900 Park bfast
Sat - Chef Mickey dinner

Was hoping to get CRT in there somewhere, but all is booked right now. We are doing H&V twice because we'll be at DSH for Star Wars Weekends a lot. Since 1900 Park Fare has different characters at bfast and dinner, I'm trying them both. Can't wait!!

Character meals are great. Do them now when you have young kids and cherish all the memories. The years will fly by and before you know it, they will want to skip the meals and shows and only hit the big rides over and over. Good news though, that is short lived (a few years) and then they will reach the age that they will want to experience everything again. My oldest son wants CM's, but we can't get it (calling everyday), so probably no character dining for us this 12 day trip. Enjoy your meals.

To each their own, but for me, yes that is too much! While it's great to meet the characters, I find that overall the character meals are much less relaxing than other meals. (Up and down to the buffet, taking pictures, autographs etc..) In a 7 day trip, I find 3 is plenty. We do Crystal Palace w/ Pooh and friends, one meal w/ Mickey and friends, and a princess meal. So many of the restaurants that my kids have enjoyed over the years have been non-character meals such as 'Ohana, Biergarten, WCC, Teppan Edo etc....:thumbsup2

I absolutely LOVE character meals, but I don't think I would want to see the princesses that many times. But then, there might be different ones at each place, so more power to you if that's what you want to try!!! I tend to enjoy the more-relaxed, no character meals thrown into the mix. But that's just me...

I am reminded about a post I saw once from a lady who booked a bunch of character meals for her family's first trip, and she said her husband never wanted to go back to Disney EVER because he thought all there was to eat was buffets with characters running around. :rolleyes1 You might want to check with your DH, but if he's down with it, go for it! ;)

To answer your question, NO you can never have too many character meals, but personally I would consider a few others.

Maybe instead of using 2 TS credits on CRT, you are already going to see Cinderella at 1900 dinner, you could do Crystal Palace w/Pooh & Friends instead.

Also if you want to see the Princesses, you could do Breakfast at Akershus and dinner at the Garden Grill w/Chip n Dale on your Epcot day.

And another thing is if you are going to be seeing some of the same characters like Chef Mickey's & Tusker House, just do them on different days.
