Does anyone know if you can get into the Tony Hawk event in January with an AP? The universal website sales tickets, but they say they are VIP and are good for the park after 2:00 with special seating. Any help would be appreciated.

No, an event ticket is required for admittance unless they changed it from last year. I'm happy to see they added park admission w/ the VIP ticket. That thing was outrageous last year.

I see that this Tony Hawke thing is going to be going on during our stay. Is this going to make the parks crowded? Is this guy a big draw for skateboarder types?

How much is a ticket if we have AP's?

I called Universal to ask about the Tony Hawk event, and purchasing tickets for it. They told me it is not a separately ticketed event this year, they said it has been moved to inside the park and is part of your regular admission price.

We met Tony Hawk on Dec 30th. He was standing in front of the Tony Hawk attraction. We got pictures of him and our daughter. People didn't even reconise him. We got our pictures with him and then he left. He was so nice. We asked if he was doing a show that day and he couldn't because he had a broken rib. We left and came back for the 2pm show and he was sitting off to the side. We waved to him and he waved back. He did come out at the 2pm show when the guy on the bike jumps over people. He was one of them who got jumped over, then he left. People still didn't know who he was. They said the show was closing, but I don't know when.
