Wow. After watching that clip of Tom talking about Scientology, I'd be worried for Katie and Suri too. There was an intensity that was disturbing in the way that he spoke, it gave me creepy chills. I just read your link, and I don't see any quote actually attributed directly to Johansson ("according to RadarMagazine.com", " Cruise’s rep didn’t respond to requests for comment, but Rick Ross of CultNews.com told the Scoop"). It was all hearsay. Not that I have a hard time believing it could be true. But she never came out and said anything about it.

In Scientologist speak, it's a "suppressive person". Anyone who speaks against the church (an enemy of the church) is an SP to them. Also someone they consider to have an antisocial personality.

Look at it another way: Declining to comment is VERY different from an outright denial of, "That never happened."

SP is short for "Suppressive Person." Scientology has all sorts of courses on how to deal with Suppression, suppressive persons & events. It could take literally YEARS, not to mention all the money to take all the courses to deal with the massive, extensive suppressive situations in one's life.

If the person divorcing you is what the "church" considers an "SP" then they will support the divorce.

Generally the "church" will attempt to segregate the member from ANYONE (even family) who is considered an SP or does not support or questions the members involvement in the "church"

Yes, the DIS Suri Cruise thread was originally started as a fun spoof. A way for us DISers to pass the time, snarking in fun.

I think most of us actually liked Tom Cruises movies. We originally didn't have anything against him. I certainly watched his stuff. I don't care if anyone is gay, what their religion is, who they marry or why.

But, then:

He jumps on the couch declaring his undying love for Katie Holmes.

He attacks Brooke Shields for using medication during her post-partum depression AND goes off on Matt Lauer calling him glib.

He continues a very public relationship with Katie saying they don't have sex. The, Oops! she's pregnant. Another, massively public pregnancy. . .

They actually rent pregnancy monitoring equipment in her last few months of pregnancy and bring it to Cruise's HOME instead of going to the Dr.'s office to have the baby monitored. . .
