My parents are going to be staying in the Cocoa beach area and I want to drive to the parks for a few day trips. Does anyone know how long it takes to drive from Cocoa beach and WDW and how much the toll is? Also, is it a road that is likely to hit weekday traffic or not?

Thanks!
Jenn

Well, they say it's about 45 miles, but in several trips we've found that it consistently hits at one hour. There always seems to be traffic or construction somewhere on that route. Use the 1 hour number and you'll probably be right on.

I'm sorry I don't remember the toll amounts, but it seemed like we stopped for tolls several times. Bring lots of change!

The only other road with that many tollbooths is the NJ Turnpike! I grew up there and the road to the beach was always interrupted with tollbooths demanding quarters... We did the drive to Cocoa Beach this summer and I believe the tolls added up to about $5.

It did take about an hour, and my husband spotted alligator roadkill, which we thought was really wild as we are from Indiana.

Have fun!

Thanks, that's not as bad as I had thought. When we drive in Florida we always forget about the tolls and sometimes they add up a lot if you weren't expecting it. Also, wasn't sure how long it really took, thanks! Sounds like we can spend the night with them most of the time and maybe on site for a couple days also!
