Toll Roads from Orlando to Port Canaveral

The problem (with Budget) is the transponder is already IN the car, so if you go through the electronic lanes, you are charged the toll, plus $2.99/day weather you pass through a toll ezpass lane on any given day.... be careful, and choose the toll booth plaza lane furthest from the ezpass as possible.

We were cruising in May and rented a car from Budget and got a car with no transponder. We paid $1.50 each way ...from airport to port and back.

Some of them are not using actual transponders. The rental cars license plate is registered and they use a picture of that to determine the rental agency and then is charged back to the renter.

:confused:Wow! This newbie had no idea! I've rented a Budget Grand Caravan for our October Cruise. Will I still be charged all those fees if I just look for a toll that says cash only? We'll be heading to the port from Hilton Disney World, can anyone tell me the best way to go? Otherwise, I'll use my phone to map it out, but kind of worried now with all these differing comments. And when I rent the van, should I look for one without a transponder? And we're only renting one way for less than 24 hours, so will they still charge me differently? I thought I got a great rate until I read this...:goodvibes

As long as you stop and pay the cash toll you should be okay. They take a picture license plate of every car that goes thru the toll booth and if the toll was paid the picture is deleted.

HATE FL toll roads,, I had forgot about these until our trip last week,, we spent about $5 each way btwn tampa to Coco beach then Coco beach to WDW, blah

Believe me...I'LL STOP!!!! Actually had an instance a couple years back at a toll and it was hysterical! Just me and my daughters, and I think it was the sunpass lane, but I wasn't sunpass and I didn't know what to do since there was no 'pay' place. And then, I tried to stop and pay, (which you NEVER do):rotfl:, and then I was so afraid I was going to get a ticket...:lmao:

I did mail in my payment, did not get a ticket...but if people can create phobias...I did it to myself...

I spend $6/day just to get to and from work. I do this by choice to avoid other roads in the Orlando area.
