Told Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique is for Children Only?!

I don't really buy the part about taking opportunities away from a child. If we're going to go with that theory, then adults shouldn't be allowed to:
-book character breakfasts, especially Cindy's
-ride Dumbo (After all, that line gets long. Better save it for the kiddies.)
-get front row spots at parades
-stand in line to meet characters (Hey Mickey only stays out so long at a time. Maybe we better make sure adults aren't taking up time that could be spent with kids.)

Like I said, I wouldn't book to for myself, but I really don't think that any of you are up in arms about it have any sort of leg to stand on as far as this one goes.

When I first posted, I posted because I was surprised - the thought never crossed my mind that an adult would WANT to go to a play salon (especially an adult with no children) Clearly those that do go are pretty defensive about anyone questioning it, which makes me curious since most posts questioning it haven't (or at least weren't) all that judgemental or brutal. Almost seems like some may be self-conscious about it and a little touchy when someone verbalizes that they don't understand it or wouldn't do it themselves. I simply posted that I'd feel guilty about potentially taking the spot away from a child - it wasn't a lecture, "all of you adults are going to burn for this! These poor kids can't get in because you're being selfish!"

And I think there is a difference between this and all those things you mentioned. There are significantly less spaces to fill for BBB than there are seats at character meals, seats on the parade routes, seats and loads for attractions, and opportunities to meet characters. That's why I'd feel guilty - knowing just how limited this experience is and how hard it may be to get into (or at least was when it opened. . .I don't keep up with the competitiveness of these reservations)

Holy cow!!

I love how some posters have taken it upon themselves to determine whether or not adults should go to BBB. Did I miss the memo where these posters are now the authority?

Do I want to go to BBB? not at this time

If I wanted to go to BBB; would I? you betcha

Is it anybody elses business why or why not I would go to BBB? not on your life

And as to the theory that it is wrong for an adult to be at BBB when a child might have to wait or not get in:
Is it wrong of me to be in line for Winnie the Pooh or Small World while a child is in line behind me?

I am not worried about taking a child's place at BBB. I book way in advance and never had a problem getting the time we wanted. We have been to BBB 3 times now and are going again in June and October. I also plan out my days for ADRs, parks, and yes, even parade times. I would never ask to have my child get in front of anyone because we are already there! I just think it strange that a grown woman would get something out of a few fake strands of hair, nailpolish you can't even see, and some eye shadow. I would rather go to a spa and be treated like a REAL princess. BBB is for kids. Obviously.

WOW

Whats the problem, would I have it done, being a almost 40 year old woman, Yes in a heart beat. The kids at my school love the fact that 'miss' is a big Tigger fan, and wears disney cloths and is more of a kid at heart. Maybe I should just leave the disney clothes to the kids, and if I fancy a happy meal, mmmm I should leave that being over a certain age. and maybe give the dumbo ride a miss, and the pooh bear ride.........boy I am going to miss out if I take notice of some people on here. Give it up, its Disney, some adults (myself included) had a pretty poor naff (bad) childhood, and when given the chance I want to enjoy those things with friends or with my own daughter, shes almost 14 and it shows her Mum is fun and willing to join in and in some cases make a fool of herself.

just my 2 pennys worth
:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

I get that. For what it's worth, I agree with you. My question is why on earth would you care if someone else wants to do it? Why does it seem to bother you if someone else feels differently? Why not just shrug and let it go?

Heck, I think it's really bizarre that anyone would waste a perfectly good afternoon watching football or any other sport. I hate sports in general and I can't think of a worse way to spend and afternoon. Obviously, not everybody feels the say way, so - to each his own.

So, since you said "make a fool of herself", you do agree it does appear a little odd to be a grown up doing this?

To each their own...
Fun for you might not equal fun for someone else. I agree BBB is for kids but it also seems to be for adults as well. Adults have been encouraged to with their children and get their hair done.

I guess I'm just wondering why everyone cares?? The OP asked if anyone had an experience where adults weren't welcome...answer is NO!! Apparently lots of people here have booked or have already gone. Go and have fun!!

Read it, it says in SOME cases make a fool of herself, doing BBB would not be making a fool of myself it would be fun, in a fun disney enviroment, a far better feeling than sitting in a sterile spa!
have a nice day!!!

Well I thought we were here expressing opinions. I really don't care if someone wants to do this. Like I said, I just think it's silly. I said to each is own in my first post.

The original poster stated the BBB said that it was for kids and acted suprised an adult wanted to do this when calling to make an appointment, thats where this came from. Perhaps its just a loose policy, perhaps many adults dont understand what exactly it is when booking this. Either way this didnt start out by those questioning quirky adults, but because someone at the BBB said it was so.
Now some are very defensive anyone would call them out on this, others see it as a harmless juant, either way, it is what it is, a kiddie boutique that is potentially very difficult to get into during peak season.

Next you'll have people saying adults shouldn't go on Dumbo because it makes the waits for their little ones too long

LMAO no kidding. Its really all the same! Same as the person who commented that it could be the same as parents thinking that they can go to a parade the moment it starts and push their way thru a crowd so their child can see.

There have been posts on here from people who booked a bridal party in, as well as people who have gone with their girlfriends! GASP numerous chairs at one time taken away from children! oh how horrible. (insert eye roll here)

if it was intended as an age specific then, then it would be posted as such just like they do with tours, priate cruises, etc.

Like skiiing.....I HATE skiing. I live near Buffalo. I tried skiing, was actually really good at it. My nose ran, I was cold, and I did not enjoy it. Now, people who love to ski could go on and on about why they like skiing. Won't make me like it. THey can argue with me all they want. I will still dislike skiing. Just the way it is.

I am also in the buffalo area and I HATE SKIING TOO!!!!!! I just wanted to pipe in with that. :)

I personally cannot imagine any sane adult wanting to get this done. I think the hair pieces and makeup are super tacky. Plus, I do think this is one of Disney's offerings that is really, well, more suited to the kiddies.

But to each her own.

alternatively, i think that the adults who walk around in the expensive cake hats and "Nightmare" hats and the like are tacky.

but if you have $30 and want to spend it on your 'hair ' whether its for a hat or a hairdo, so be it. :O)

I'm having a hard time understanding the hostility over this.

I've booked a trip for 10 days next Thanksgiving. We are celebrating my daughter's birthday while there. I am booking BBB for me (34), dd8, and ds(10). She is so excited that we will all be fixed up. We are spending the afternoon at World Showcase, and eating at Akershus. I personally think we will have a great time!:goodvibes

You will have a wonderful time, with wonderful memories to look back on, have a wonderful time.:wizard:

For the record, here is the link off of Disneys own webpage. Its under the choose your experience with the tab: preschoolers

http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/wdw/moreMagic/shoppingDetail?id=BibbidiBobbidiBoutiquePage

Are we just gonna beat this subject into the ground??
It is listed under the preschooler's tab but that doesn't mean that people older can't do it. It's recommended that from preschool and up can. Just like the Buzz Lightyear is under the preschooler's tab and it's my favorite ride; should I not be allowed on the ride cause it's under that tab??

Disney lets parents do BBB. Like I said before the OP asked if parents were allowed...she didn't ask for everyone's opinion on whether she should or not. All the nay sayer's should start their own thread "BBB should not allow adults", not hijack this one.

I'm still interested in seeing pics of everyone's experience there :)

Well, I think I have seen worse things than adults at WDW doing BBB (like adults running over toddlers, and pushing them out of a line to get a rare lanyard pin, or adults throwing a hissy fit, demanding to trade for a pin on the green kid's lanyard) but....honestly, other than a mom going in with her daughter, I don't really see why a grown woman would want to do this. I have seen many come out sporting a less than flattering make up...some of the kids actually looked frightening to me.
Granted, some of the Fairy Godmothers in training do a terrific job, and it'll always be cute on little girls...but...oh well....just my opinion of course, and if adults feel like doing it....fine!
