Told Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique is for Children Only?!

And am sorry but I don't think Disney will make anything that is kids only or adult onlys.

Adults only:
Victoria and Albert's
Pleasure Island Nightclubs
Palo, Route 66

Kids only:
Neverland Club, Simba's Clubhouse, etc.
Navigator's Club

Anyhoo, obviously, Disney is not going to turn away cash, but there is nothing about the marketing, brochures, or anything regarding the boutique that suggest it is for adults.

They may be welcome there, but they certainly are not encouraged to be there. ... and anyone that does bring them there is putting them in a place they really weren't meant to be (I'm talking about the 10 and under set here, not well behaved teens and that).

I'm not saying I'd take one there, just that your listing of the restaurant as "adults only" is incorrect.

No, Disney would never turn away $. It was, and is, intended for little girls though. I don't know how special I would feel as a 5 year old, going in, and having women in there having it done. If there were several women in there, the magic of the whole experience would be lost. As someone else stated, I think women should be able to go in as walk-ins only.
I, for one, do not understand the attraction to adults. I do, however, see a lot of adults acting like children at WDW, just not taking experiences away from children.
When my little girl did this, it was filled to capacity with all little girls. My daughter will remember the magic.

I'm surprised at all the adults that say they've gone. I'm not a woman, but it is definitely a kid's atmosphere. I'd feel a little weird being in there.

I'm very surprised by this - it's the first I've heard of adults going. I don't really see the draw for adults, but even if it did appeal to me . . .I don't know, I'd feel incredibly guilty taking a spot knowing there's a little girl out there who may be missing out on the opportunity that was intended significantly more for her than for me.

The attraction for adults is having fun and feeling like a kid or a princess! I will do it again! When I called they clearly stated it is for anyone...boys, girls, women, men...whomever wishes to have it done! I dont know of any treatment I can get at one of the spas for $35 which is what I paid for this! I went during peak season and did not have a hard time to get an appointment a week before on a weekend. I think all the women on here complaining about it are maybe too "adult" to enjoy it...therefore it would not be something for you! However, I myself like to enjoy neverland whenever I can and if I can go get my hair done crazy, be treated like a princess and have fun with it...I will do it! I deserve the treatment just as much as the next person or girl! I am sorry if I got an appointment that could have otherwise went to a girl but that is the way it goes. I guess it would be the same as getting a reservation for the storybook princess breakfast at EPCOT and it just being me and my mother (2 adults) when it could have been a childs reservation. So am I supposed to feel bad about every reservation I make? Because I can tell you I go to WDW as a big kid with my mother or friends (because I dont have kids) and we want to do the same things. I go to Disney to get the Disney treatment whether I have kids or not. My passion for Disney is probably stronger than half the kids that go. I dont want to do the "adult" things because it does not feel like Disney to me. That is fine for those of you that want to be grown up even at Disney but for me and many others, being a kid at WDW is what we want to do and should not be criticized for it.

This is on the official WDW website:

*The Imaging Package includes one 6" x 8" and four 4" x 6" photos in a princess-themed photo holder.

Booking in advance is strongly recommended. Call (407) WDW-STYLE (939-7895)† to make a reservation today. We require a credit card as a guarantee. Cancellations must be made 24 hours in advance.

You'll notice it does not specifically exclude adults, but does imply girls. It also is under the section labeled "Preschoolers". So, you big girls that want to go, by all means, go! But if all the other tots look at you askance, you'll know why. Also, don't try to go for the Castle Package...I kinda doubt they'll have the Cindy costume in your size!:cutie:

I made an appointment for Feb with my 3 yr old because she asked me to!! :) She said she wanted Mommy to be a pretty princess too. Who am I to argue? ;)

So the only way to "be a kid" at Disney is to spend an hour in a pretend salon? :confused3

When I went in September, I saw a load of open chairs and beauticians standing around. I'm amazed that people complain about adults going (I have no intentions of going - but who I am to judge?) when it's obvious that it's not full 100% of the time. And who's to say that the adult in that chair hasn't gone through something difficult in their life (sickness, death, etc.) recently and needed a little childish fun? We have NO idea what's going on in that person's life at the moment.

You definitely said this better than I did. I'm not sure how a hair extension and glitter in a pretend salon is that special, but whatever, I guess.

I seriously doubt tots will look at anyone askance.

That would be left to the judgemental parents who are setting up their own rules of how things should be done which obviously aren't how things actually work(I quoted Ursulas post but this is a general comment).

If people don't want to do it, don't, but it's not for them to judge others on it.

Who cares if others don't understand the attraction of it? I'm sure there are many things each of us do that other people don't understand the attraction of. Going to Disney at all would be a good example.

I had wanted to do this (I only have two boys 15 and 16) but didn't think I could. Next trip, I will be heading there to have hair and nails done. Sounds like fun... As for ressies, I have just as much right to go and get my ressies as the next person. We all can call and make ressies.. If you have a parent that doesn't for his/her little darling.. then it is not my fault.

It's not controversial.

Can adults call and make reservations and get the service and pay? Obviously. It's been demonstrated.

Was the original intent of the area to be a service for adults (subset that to be adults without children)? Pretty obviously not.

Is Disney going to turn away money when they have the ability to service the request? No.

Do some of us think it's weird that adults want to get a kid's play salon makeover? Yes.

Do adults that want to do this care what we think? No.

I'll throw in my $.02

For anyone saying that adults doing BBB is taking away from a child's experience or possibly taking their available appointments are the same parents that think coming to parades as soon as it starts should be able to push their way through the crowd because their child can't see. If this is an experience you want....book in advance!!

Personally, I'm not interested in getting the BBB treatment. But for all the adults that are...go for it!! Life is too short. Disney is about having fun, and who is to say what is fun for one is fun for all ;)
