Told Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique is for Children Only?!

sorry, i just stumbled upon this thread and had to add my opinion.

in all seriousness, what does it matter if a woman wants to get her hair done? so what if it's kiddish? you all are basically saying that adults are not allowed to act like a kid in any which way or form? that's the most absurd thing i've ever heard! sorry if not all women are as MATURE as you are. if they wish to spend their hard earned money on something like a princess hairdo, then let them. who are you to say what people can and can't spend money on?

i've never heard such a ridiculous argument in my life. this thread reminds me of when my friends told me in a letter in high school that they were too mature for me and didn't want to be friends with me anymore. yeah, real mature.

eta. what about them men who get their haircut with their sons at the main street barber shop? should they not be allowed to do that either? i've seen pictures of men and sons with matching glitter in their hair.

Come on, this is WDW! Full grown adults walk around with giant birthday cake hats on their heads! This is the one place you can get away with looking silly in public, so absolutely go for it.
I'm sorry, but I really dislike the attitude that once you reach a certain age, you are no longer allowed to enjoy the same things without being looked down on.

I totally agree! My DH & I went to Disney last year and we acted like a bunch of kids for the week. We have no children. You bet we wore the mouse ears, stood in line to meet the characters and get autographs, we had all character dinners except for one. It was great! If you want to go to BBB then go for it don't let anyone stop you.

I first read this thread and thought... "Adults going alone to BBB?!?!... How completely frickin' weird!" But then I got to thinking. Aren't Disney parks all about this sort of thing? A place where "age relives fond memories of the past???" All that follows are quotes by Walt on Disneyland.

"Why do we have to grow up? I know more adults who have the children's approach to life. They're people who don't give a hang what the Joneses do. You see them at Disneyland every time you go there. They are not afraid to be delighted with simple pleasures, and they have a degree of contentment with what life has brought - sometimes it isn't much, either."

"Your dead if you aim only for kids. Adults are only kids grown up, anyway."

"We believed in our idea - a family park where parents and children could have fun- together."

"It has that thing - the imagination, and the feeling of happy excitement- I knew when I was a kid."

So, basically, what I'm saying is... maybe it isn't all that bad. Perhaps it's what the "ol' Walt-ster" wanted?

I've been reading this thread over my daughter's shoulder.
It reminds me of an incident at Disneyland a few years back. While waiting in line for Mr. Toad's Wild Ride a mother ahead of my wife and I loudly proclaimed that adults without small children shouldn't be allowed to go on this ride so HER son wouldn't have to wait so long.

If she was so worried about adults taking up room in line why didn't she or her husband get out of line and make room for another child? Only one parent needs to be with the boy on any ride at any park. You guessed it, neather one got out of line and the mother continued to belly ache about adults in the line.

Stitch's O'hana's father.

Beautifully said!

I will again reiterate for all those who are negative posters... no one asked your opinions. OP came on here asking for help not a guilt trip. I love people who can sit and blindly judge others behind the comforts of a computer... get a life!! I thought this board was about Theme Park Attractions and Strategies.. not some fashion critiques.

Well, if we're going to be so technical about the issue.... cheap hair extensions and frosty blue eyeshadow are neither theme park attractions nor strategies. So maybe we shouldn't be discussing BBB here at all. ;)

I have 2 words .......Grow Up! ok I am done.

Why??? Disney is place where you can be a kid again!!!! Life is way to short! Why do you think Walt Disney made Walt Disney World? It's a place where adults can bring there kids and where they can have fun together and be as silly & crazy as they want to! Everyone is welcome to be kids again at Disney World, even if we are big Kids( we just want to have fun too)! Next time I go to WDW I will be going to Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique again!

:confused3 I don't get all the hostility on this thread.:confused3 So what if an adult wants her hair done at BBB? Is it really anyone elses' business? It's her money and her time, if you don't like it, then you don't have to have it done. If my dd wanted me to go with her and have my hair done, I'd do it in a heartbeat. We've done the barbershop pixie dust and color before and it was cute and fun, I don't see much of a difference. I've seen alot of adults at the barbershop, men and women. Lighten up.:cutie:

But am, BBB is in Disney World( Downtown Disney)so I think if some had a question like the OP started out with in can be on theme park attractions board!

I guess people like to turn everything into a 3 ring Circus around here!
:sad2: :scared:

There are a million ways to be a kid again on property. Getting a 2 minute manicure and stickers on my face wouldn't really be high on the list as an solo adult.

Great ways to be a kid again (without frosted blue shadow):
character meal
mini-golf
water slides
horseback riding
It's a small world
air hockey
drive a water sprite
scream on space mountain
rent a surrey bike
go fishing

Ways to be a princess:
get a spa makeover at the Floridian
rent a suite at the Beach Club
have dinner at Vickie and Al's
go dancing at the Boardwalk
go shopping at the Contemporary

Then you shouldn't have it done. Not high on your list, but maybe high on someone else's, what is the big deal? No one's forcing you to get it done.:confused3 Though who knows, you may look sweet in frosted blue eyeshadow and Minnie stickers on your cheeks?:cutie: ;)

Well said. I agree.

There are a lot of things you could do in the name of recapturing your youth in the spirit of Disney, but that doesn't mean you *should*. You could put on a pair of diapers for a day and say you're doing it to relive the free-spirited feeling of being a kid again. That would still be weird!

Kids are kids. When you're no longer a kid, move on.

Exactly. But that's the fun of an online board. You can say your thing, I can say mine, and *** cares? We're not really changing anyone's mind. It's just fun to debate.

I'm a little annoyed my word "prin"+"cess" turned into an annoying little hatted smiley, tho.

OK, let's see having your hair done at WDW's BBB or wearing a diaper? HMM, now that's a fair comparison:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotf:rotfl:

Why not? I guess you should stay away from Disney World, then cause I don't think you will be able to handle all the adults having fun being kids again! Going on Peter Pan, Dumbo, Snow White, Whinnie the Pooh, etc. Why don't you put the diapers on and let us know how it works out for you! Cause I don't think anyone said they were putting on diapers when running around WDW, just you to turn things into a 3 ring "Circus"

Well, actually, I was first brought to Disney World when I was in diapers, when I was 9 mos. old back in '75. And I've been going every year since.

So.... I've grown from an infant to an adult at Disney World, and I still love it, but my attitude and perspective have changed. I don't daydream of being a princess anymore, I don't have a big ole' crush on Robin Hood, I don't pretend that I'm Princess Aurora, and I don't play dress up like I used to, but I *do* enjoy riding Peter Pan, Dumbo, and Snow White (though I much prefer Mr. Toad to Winnie the Pooh). So I'm not sure what your point is here.

And the diapers thing was just hyperbole, BTW. ;)

My point is that you don't have to make someone feel bad or make them feel they should not be doing the things that are doing when at WDW. That's what this thread has turned in to and it's just plan rude. I most of the time don't even come on to these types of threads, just casue people get dumb about stuff. Life is to short!

Thought this was somewhat funny. This is the Dis's tagline:
