Designed for children, but an adult can bring out her inner child (hence being at Disney) and become a princess herself if she wants.

2 of my DDs will be getting their hair and nails done on April 2. We'll have our lime green Mickey Head paint chips ...so look for us!

Hey, if being a princess = hair extensions and $.50 nail polish, knock yourself out. I would imagine _most_ women would like to be treated with a great spa makeover to feel like a princess, but then again, I'm just a guy.

You talked about places made just for adults or children. It wouldn't hurt an adult to be made into a princess but I think it would hurt a child to be in a night club for adults only. (alcohol, smoking, etc.)

This is really just too much.

I've held my tongue this entire thread, but this is just too much. No one has the right to tell anyone what they have to do to feel like a princess, or a prince, or heck the family dog. If that's how someone wants to get into the spirit, that's their choice.

Would I go to the BBB? No, not unless I was dressing up as Cinderella for something and needed my hair to be in her trademark bun. But then hair would be all I would get. But I think it's adorable when mom's go with their little girls or boys... or even bridal parties go for fun and laughs. Hey, it's better than a bridal party going to a strip club in my opinion.

What amazes me is how absolutely MEAN the people on the side of "adults don't belong there" are. Calling these women tacky... among other things that right now I'm not redigging through the thread to bring up. What happened to "If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all"?

So tell me, if I want to do Build-A-Bear should I not since that's marketed towards children? If all I feel like I can eat at the moment is a happy meal, should I not get that since it's marketed towards children?

Should I stay out of the princess area of the World of Disney since really, it's designed towards little girls?

Give me a break.

I can't believe this post is still alive I've been watching it since yesterday. I have to admit, I thought it was going to be a sarcastic funny post...because the title "told bbb is for children only" made me laugh. My first thought was, of course it's for kids only! However, seeing how many grown up kids have been there, I guess it's becoming the norm. Hey, I wouldn't personally do it, but if other people want to, I don't have a problem with it, however, I don't really see the appeal. Also, is anyone else wondering where the fg in training came from. She has an awfully low post count. Seems funny she just happens to find the dis when there is a bbb debate going on...

I think you're missing the point that some of us are saying. It's got nothing to do with the marketing. A mother going with daughter, fine. She's sharing the experience with her daughter to see it through her eyes. The point isn't about "getting made over". Bridesmaids? Ok, it's one of those silly things you might do, getting some glitter and a freaky extension.

Heck, if you go in there by yourself and realize it is an experience for kids, and you have an attitude of "Heh-heh, I'm just going to look crazy as a grown up in this getup, won't that be over the edge?", I'll buy it. But if you are taking it seriously, as a "princess makeover", I just think it's a little odd.

I'm staying out of the debate, but I wanted to add that I will be making ressies there for me (age 39) and my DD (age 14) for our April trip

We decided it would be a fun Disney thing to do as mother and daughter.

Ok, I have an actual question, not comment...

My 11 year old daughter who I had thought was too old and wouldn't be interested completely wants to do this ..WITH ME. Not alone, but together. She said at Disney even a mom can be a princess. So I booked us both.

Now, I'm not sure I want green hair. Is there something..nice they could do? I guess I mean fancy not crazy. Do you know what I mean? What exactly do they do for adults???

You can get the Cinderella makeover, not sure what they call it. But it is Cindy's updo with a nice not cheap like libby lu tiara and there is light makeup. I would skip the nails as I did with my girls, an extra $10 when you can paint them yourself. I am getting the Cindy hairdo this DEC with my girls. HAVE FUN!!!!

I don't completely agree. We make up to 200 girls into princesses in a single day. For the most part, we don't get to accept walk ins anyway because we book up so fast. So normally if a little girl is going to get it done, they book an appointment anyway.

I think you just contradicted yourself. It gets so booked up. . so to ME that sounds like the seats going to adults could EASILY be filled by little girls. It's not like these seats would be going empty if these adults didn't decide to partake by your description.

I'm sorry, say what you want to me, been flamed before and I'm sure it will happen again, but I do not get the concept of adult woman doing the BBB on their own. You want to feel like a princess? Huh? I like to have fun at WDW too. My adult cousin and I have joined arms and skipped down Main Street on more than one occasion.

But I just don't get it. And no I don't shove my precious's in front of anyone at the parades. But then DH and I don't stand in line for pics with the characters on adult only trips because I don't get that either.

Ya know - I didn't post early on in the thread, I just observed. But it sure seemed like the pro-adults were defensive right off the bat at even the question of "really? adults want to do this?" We got the huffy responses, the "I deserves" and then anyone who didn't pander was immediately painted as a pushy parent (amazing, since I'm not a parent at all! I must be good if I can push my nonexistant kids in front of people at parades, LOL)

Why is it only mean when it's on the side of those questioning why an adult would want to do this, but it's not mean when it's someone grasping for straws to defend themselves.

I better add a disclaimer: I'm not talking about everyone arguing on one side or the other. . . just certain posts that I'm not going to type up a bibliography for reference, LOL.

I'm the one who used the "t word" earlier in this thread. I never said the women were tacky, but that the goofy hair extensions and glittery makeup are pretty tacky looking (little girls are still young enough to pull this look off and still be cute. Grown women are not.) That's my opinion, and I'm stickin' to it!

I guess she thought she would add some credibility. It honestly doesn't look like the same girl as in the pic though,KWIM?
