You're the one that hijacked the thread. I looked here for people's experience not a "discussion" as you put it. Being demeaning to people is in no one's best interest.

Disney does NOT state that you must be under a certain age to be welcome at the BBB. So those of you who think it is wrong that girls of all ages can go in and get a makeover, take it up with Disney. Ok, I'm feeling the need to chime in again. First off, someone mentioned that if BBB becomes kids only, than there should be a restaurant that bans kids...that's just dumb. You don't need kids to enjoy Disney, me and DH had some great kidless trips there...but it is primarily a family destination and it is not in their best interests to alienate kids from places. You can argue me all you want on this point, but Disney's main demographics are kids and families so they aren't going to put anything in the parks that is less than kiddie accomodating and that's how it should be. If you don't like kids, than maybe Disney isn't the best place to vacation.

Also, every adult who thinks it's their right to get their hair done at BBB really needs to get over themselves. If you want to do it, that's fine, I don't care, however, to say that you deserve it more than a child is just wrong. This is a KIDDIE boutique. While Disney will let in anyone willing to pay money, it still does not lessen the fact that it was created with little girls in mind. If you are fine taking the spot of a little girl whose mother didn't realize that reservations were needed, than those are your values. However, it is very selfish to say that you deserve to get your hair done at a KIDDIE boutique more than a KID because you knew you had to make a reservation in advance, when the kid's mother did not.

I HATE it when people use this excuse. Yes, it's an excuse. Why yes captain obvious, this IS the internet. But what people continuously forget is that there are real people and REAL emotions behind the screens. A discussion on the internet or a discussion in real life, words still hurt many people. Just because it's the internet doesn't absolve you from taking responsibility that your words may have hurt someone.

No I don't think it is selfish. I think it is the way almost everything at Disney (and the rest of the world) works. Using your reasoning, I shouldn't make and ADR at a character meal, because some child may not be able to get it. After all, everyone knows that character meals are for children! Adults know there is a person in the suit. Maybe Disney should have a rule, only 1 adult per family allowed in. That way you do not have any extra adults running around taking up space. After all, who are they?

Guess what? Disney is not a charity set up just to entertain kids. If it was, they wouldn't charge for anything. It is the parents and adults who feed the money making machine that is Disney. And until they have a rule that only a certain age group is welcome at the BBB, everyone should feel free to have a ressie.

I think the people who look down on others who want to do silly and fun things (that disney says is ok) are the ones who need to get over themselves.

This was well written. I tried to express this yesterday, but of course, people interpret it how they want and start to get defensive.
"So we should all stay home?"
"So only allow 1 adult per family?"
"It's my God-given right!"
And my personal favorite: "Isn't the whole purpose of a DW vacation so I can wear silly hats and shirts, and get fake hair and tattoos?"

Come on, this is WDW! Full grown adults walk around with giant birthday cake hats on their heads! This is the one place you can get away with looking silly in public, so absolutely go for it. The only reason I haven't done it yet is because of the price. Also, I think I'd be just a little too embarrassed to go alone, but if I had a friend go with me, you better believe I'd do it in a heartbeat. I've seen a table of 4 adults at CRT who had all gone to the botique, and they were having a blast.

I'm sorry, but I really dislike the attitude that once you reach a certain age, you are no longer allowed to enjoy the same things without being looked down on.

AMEN to THAT!!! Nothing irritates me more than the attitude that Disney is for Children only or somehow children are more entitled to do certain activities than adults. Disney is all about having a wonderful time, and feeling that sense of magic that often leaves us as we become adults. I would hate to see some woman scowling at me b/c they walked up to the BBB and couldn't get an appointment "but look at that GROWN UP taking my daughters chance at Princess makeover!!" You want your moment at the BBB...make an appointment. It's called "planning ahead"...

I'm going to imagine that it's people like that that push and shove to get their kid the best parade view too...

I'm going to get a princess makeover with my step daughter this summer. It's going to be wonderful and I'm going to enjoy every single silly magical moment of it as I am just as deserving of princess treatment as anyone other human being at Disneyworld...grown up or not! SO THERE!

We go to character meals, pose with characters and watch parades and we are 28 with no kids....why are only people with kids allowed to enjoy these things ...and why do I pay the same as people with kids who get to enjoy these things...I guess I should just stay home if I don't have kids.

And when we go next year I would do it all over again (but not so many autographs already did that part). Because back and forth on odd subjects is fun, and this is the only thing interesting on the parks board right now.

... and also, I have a daughter, so I'm part of the invested party. I guess if I was a woman, I might understand the attraction. When I go and want to have fun and have no worries, I have a couple beers around Epcot, or have a brownie sundae and watch the fireworks, or play some mini-golf. None of those, particularly odd things for an adult male (with or without children) to want to do.

I can't believe this post is still alive I've been watching it since yesterday. I have to admit, I thought it was going to be a sarcastic funny post...because the title "told bbb is for children only" made me laugh. My first thought was, of course it's for kids only! However, seeing how many grown up kids have been there, I guess it's becoming the norm. Hey, I wouldn't personally do it, but if other people want to, I don't have a problem with it, however, I don't really see the appeal. Also, is anyone else wondering where the fg in training came from. She has an awfully low post count. Seems funny she just happens to find the dis when there is a bbb debate going on...

So nice of you to notice and be so critical. How about the fact that i just heard about the stupid thread thing and decided to jump in and answer questions of people who don't know anything about the boutique and would like to know things. So get outta my business and let me do what I came on here to do. Thank you very much.

FG_in_training, you did a great job with my dd and we are excited to come back to BBB on our next trip and I will be joining my girls along with my sis for a makeover.....THANKS!!!!!!!!

I'm so glad you guys had a good time. It was definitely my pleasure. And you'll have just as much fun doing it with your girls and you sister and your girls will be so glad you did. Ok, I have an actual question, not comment...

My 11 year old daughter who I had thought was too old and wouldn't be interested completely wants to do this ..WITH ME. Not alone, but together. She said at Disney even a mom can be a princess. So I booked us both.

Now, I'm not sure I want green hair. Is there something..nice they could do? I guess I mean fancy not crazy. Do you know what I mean? What exactly do they do for adults???

Absolutely. Most adults get the fairytale princess. It's a simple, classic bun with a tiara and a hidden rhinestone Mickey pin in the back. It's classy and sophisticated but it's still princess-like.
