Tokyo Dining - Skip It!

I have to disagree also. The sushi here is very good and I would not hesitate to recommend it. The tempura is good too. Beyond that, I have no idea, we only go for the sushi :thumbsup2 Love that Dynamite roll

Love the area too, very nice view from there

what did you order?:confused3

I had a very good experience there in June. We had lunch there and found the service to outstanding. I had sushi for the first time, DW and I split a sampler. We had tempura which I liked but my DW didn't really care for. As far as price, it was reasonable for Disney standards I thought.

Sorry for the delay... life ya know! =)

Well first off, I am a member of the Tables in Wonderland (formerly Disney Dining Experience) and when I made my reservation, the cast member told me that TD was a participating restaurant. When I arrived, as usual I mentioned my membership and the way I was told that they did not participate lacked any sort of 'Disney' to say the least. We had a couple other requests, and the way the cast member responded was just simply rude.

As for the service from our server, she was very polite and really enjoyed talking with her.

As for the food, well it simply lacked any resemblance of flavor. We had a party of 6 and everyone agreed.

Well, it is not the hostess's fault that the CM taking your reservation gave you the wrong information. Also, were your requests taken care of? What kind of requests were they?

I really enjoyed Tokyo Dining and wouldn't hesitate to go again.

omg we must have passed each other yesterday...i was going to start this thread...we had 715 ressies we werent seated until 8pm. when went to the hostess to say something...she stated we are very business and we would never tell a CUSTOMER to leave, but as you can see..."

CUSTOMER..they have CUSTomers @ DIsney now? I thought I was a guest...you are talking about the short lady that had all the papers lined on the counter...she must have sensed my disbelief from her comments so by the time i sat down the buzzer went off..

we were seated in a corner looking out of the front of the restaurant at a table for 4...the waitress asked if i was waiting for any one else to arrive i said NO..that it was just the two of us dining. she was upset that we were allowed to sit at a table for 4...

next although i could barely hear what she was saying she asked if i was using any of the DDP...yes i replied regular DP...she let me know that I could order any entree on the menu from 7 through whatever #, but you are not allowed to have appetizers...or alcholic beverages...

10 minutes she comes back with an even worse attitude...are you ready to order??? so i order an entree, Mt.FUJI drink, and an appetizer...she responds by saying I told you that the DP does not allow appetizers or alcholic beverages...:lmao: :lmao:

only laughing bc at this point im pissed... i think i am old enough to comprehend what is and isnt included.

overall this place sucks, the food didnt come until 830 appetizer and entree together...my daughter finished her dinner b4 i had my dinner....WOW...i am so angry that i swapped this place out for Teppan EDO which to me is way better!!!

the reason i didnt start this thread is because i thought that maybe we were having some type of cultural issues...but i guess not...i hope i have detailed enough...n if i havent i can later...just that my arm is getting a little tired....THUMBS DOWN...maybe they were having a hectic night

I thought it was very good when I ate there. The service was very attentive and the food was very good as well. Plus if you sit at a window table, you can see all of World Showcase.

This is one of those third-party restaurants operated on Disney property, and it was absoloutely the fault of the dining reservationist for misinforming WDWKevin about TiW.

I've reviewed this place when it was brand new, and I thought the staff at the hostess stand did a lot of bowing and scraping greeting us and saying goodbye. The service was pleasant, and I couldn't complain about my unagi roll.

I haven't visited since then, but I probably should see how things are now that they've settled in. I think every restaurant can have an "off" night, and I never completely write off a place unless I have a bad experience a second time.

I can understand the frustration at the Tokyo Dining/Teppan Edo hostess station. We found it to be very confusing, and we found a few of the cast members to be quite rude at the stand! Having said that, the wait staff was excellent. The food was ok. We will eat there again!

This was my experience exactly last June. We are looking forward to visiting again this summer.

What a horrible experience. I know everybody loves the DP, but this is one reason I have never purchased. I want to avoid this type of encounter. I haven't had a bad experience at a restaurant yet in WDW (Oh except at that Noodle Place in Tomorrowland - I wish I could forget that!)
