Toddler princess dolls?

I don't know where it would be appropriate to ask this question so sorry if this is the wrong forum!

I know there was a Rapunzel toddler doll last year and that it is now priced way over the original price. I also saw that they are now releasing several princesses in this line for the holiday season. Anyone have any information about when that will be? I really want to get a couple for my daughter for Christmas since we are headed to Disney in January and I am figuring based on previous popularity that they will sell really well and may be hard by mid to late fall so I'd rather get them ASAP. Also, anyone who got the Rapunzel doll, is it a nice one? My three-year-old is a Rapunzel/Tinkerbell fanatic, so I really want to get the Rapunzel doll if it is of decent quality.

Sadly, I don't have the Animator's Collection one you're looking for, but I did get a Rapunzel toddler doll last week at the parks. She's $25 and she's so very cute looking. I couldn't resist the big green eyes anymore so I bought her. Edit: she has a different dress on than the one I found online in the collection you're asking about.

However, if you're going to let her play with these dolls, why not consider the cheaper one? Those others, at those prices, seem a little more like collectors' items than playthings. JMO.

I don't know if this is the one you are referring to (sorry no pictures) but my DD10 got a Cinderella toddler doll when we were there in May and my DD8 already has the Ariel doll that she got last year when we went. Both dolls are very good quality which they both love to play with. While we were there in May I had picked up the Tinkerbell, Tiana, and SB dolls for them for Christmas...DD8 is getting Tiana and Tinkerbell while DD10 is getting SB (they had asked for them while we were there). They want to get the whole collection. I am guessing while we are there in January, they will be on the look out for the Rapunzel one too :goodvibes

So I found a site that gives a fall release but I was hoping some super savvy person might have a month or date so that I can stalk the Disney Store :)

I'm not too wary of the $25 price tag. My daughter really does treat her toys extremely gently because we try to limit the number. Her American Girl Bitty from last Christmas is her only not cloth doll and still looks almost new and we haven't run into toy treatment problems at playdates. If they are indeed dolls suitable for play, I think she'll treat them well. I'm thinking of Rapunzel and Cinderella or Belle. LOVE Ariel too, but DD hasn't seen the movie yet.

The $25 price tag I think is way cheaper than those collection ones you're talking about. I vaguely remember a special doll coming out several months ago and she was very expensive. I just tried to find the doll I bought on the Disney Store website and she wasn't there.

I just found this from another site clicky. These dolls are a little different than the one I got;

Juliebug- Yes, those are the dolls! I wasn't able to post a link because I don't have the number of posts required for that. I know they offered a similar doll last year and they sold out everywhere. (But maybe not in the parks?) That Rapunzel looked like she was wearing a nightgown and was sooo cute. This one looks the same/very similar but with a different dress.

Sorry to do this reply in two parts, but I needed the post count to post this link and I figured I only needed one more...

You maybe thought I was talking about a different doll at first?

I vaguely remember getting an email from Disney about some Limited Edition Rapunzel doll and she was very expensive.

Mine is in her nightgown. In the face, she is the same as the doll that's in that picture. She's really so very cute. We shipped her home from DHS.

Thanks for the link, my girls are going to flip when I show them the other ones they can possibly get while we are in the World in January. They have a lot of money to be saving between now and then :goodvibes

Is what you got regarding the doll from the Disney Store (the very expensive one) a limited edition doll that was around $100.00? If so, I know which one you are talking about. Every so often the Disney Store gets these limited edition dolls after a major movie release. They only make so many and once they are gone, they are gone. They are also something that you have to pre-order, you just can't go into the store and just buy. I have seen displays of these dolls and always wished I had the money to buy them....they would make a nice collection in a future Disney room :goodvibes

Love the pics of the new Animator's Dolls !!! :goodvibes they're expressions are just priceless!

I think Belle and Rapunzel will be under our Christmas tree this year !!! :woohoo: I can't wait now for them to come out !! The $25 is not a bad price at all.

No, I knew I was not getting that limited edition doll. I saw the price tag of the limited edition doll so I knew the dolls were different.
