Todays Oprah Show.. do you think it's too soon?

One of the local radio stations I listen to everydy on the way to work caled Mitchell and had him on the air, he didnt have much to say but they gave him $1,000.

I did!!!! They do go there to eat a lot. We see them all the time at Imo's (The pizza place). It is literally across the street from the police station!!!!! Just very, very sad and scary!!

Hey Kim, help me with location... I just read the article about the curfew (BTW... thanks Splash) And it said Glendale police why would it be Glendale if he was on his bike? Can you ride your bike to Glendale from the apartment?

Women often stay with abusive men (and visa versa, I'm sure) it is a known fact. That should tell him something about this type of thing. We're talking a young boy here. Who knows what that guy told him, gave him, threatened him with, etc.

I didn't see the Oprah show but I'm sure she was very sensitive to the families involved. I hope and pray they can all move forward with their lives. I can only imagine what kind of effect something like that would have on anyone--adult or child.

Today charges came out of "armed Criminal action" so we know he had threaten him with a gun or equivilant.

It also says there will no longer be media interviews but they are going to be on Larry King tomorrow at 9. I am still worried for this boy, I hope he gets proper medical help towards his recovery.

From what I remember of the newscast on Friday that the apartments are on Holmes Ave, just north of 44. It's literally right on the border of Kirkwood and Glendale.

Kirkwood and Glendale are right next to each other so it is possible that he rode the short distance to Glendale. Kirkwood and Glendale are all in the Kirkwood School District which has only 1 High school, 2 middle schools and 5 elementary schools. It is pretty small. HTH

The site's legit. It's been up since he was missing. I think the donations are probably to go towards the search for other missing children. I can't be positive about that. I'm guessing that his family is probably poor so they may not have resources for good therapy and counseling.

This is true. They help everytime any child in Missouri goes missing (I think in other staes too). They have search dogs and teams to help in the searches for missing children.

I checked and saw that it is a site that is ongoing. I would think that there will be resources for this boy to get extensive therapy! I certainly hope so!
After reading that they are going on Larry King tomorrow and reading what many psychologists are saying about allowing this boy time to heal and not announcing to the whole country he was probably assaulted, I am concerned for this child. He is the victim and to discuss what may have happened to him on national TV disturbs me. IMO it is way to soon for doing the rounds on TV. I found the boy very nervous as would be expected and does he need more anxiety in his life?

I must say the person I was most disappointed in was Oprah herself. Although she did follow a careful line of questioning it still felt exploitative to me. The boys own parents don't even know what happened in full yet. I know they had to agree to go on the show but I'm just kind of disappointed in Oprah for pushing this on them so soon. Who cares what the public wants to know? Let's think about what's good for that boy.
