To wash or not o wash daily

I have never seen a psychotic rooster, maybe you should post a pic in the morning

I wash everyday because the older I have gotten the oiler my hair has become. I am temted to try that shampoo that Melissa Gilbert does that infomercial for in the morning on the food network because she says I have been washing my hair the wrong way for years. How could I not trust Halfpint?

Over my dead body will there ever be a picture of my morning hair on the internet! :scared1:

I think part of the problem is my hair is very fine- AND I am a restless sleeper. I move A LOT during the night and my hair pays the price for it. Plus I use a lot of product to get some body in my hair- I can't imagine not washing it out in the morning and starting fresh.:confused3

Stick straight blonde hair- I have to wash it everyday or it looks horrible. I should say more horrible than it usually looks!

Ok ladies I have been left in the dark for 33 years! I had no idea you were not supposed to wash your hair daily! Am I the only one who has been doing this? No wonder why my hair always looks so dry.

I wash my hair daily and get it is not dry.

Every other day for me and if it is a week end and I am not going anywhere forget it I will go longer.

I used to wash daily and sometimes twice if I worked out. Then I read an interview with Meryl Streep who talked about washing her hair once or twice a month.

I use a light conditioner and go about 4 days between washes.

It is great.

I work out every day so I wash m y hair daily because I sweat a lot. My hairdresser always tells me Im killing my hair and that to at least wash it every other day instead of daily.

Sorry, but Im not walking around with sweaty hair lol!

I can sometimes go every other day in between washing. But in the summer usually not. My roots are oily and ends are dry. I wish I could go longer.

I've GOTTA wash my hair daily! ewwwww, it would be just yucky, etc.
if I went to work the next day withOUT washing it!!!!

The biggest mistake I made with my thin, fine, straight hair was to color it. The best move I ever made was to stop!

Once I had all the dry bush from chemical processing cut off, my hair returned to being silky soft.

That is not a plus when you have thin, fine hair!

I have FINALLY found a hair professional that understands how to cut my hair to give the illusion of fullness.

I use a tiny amount of product (one of the benefits of that fine, thin hair - you don't need a lot) to enhance the fullness.

I can miss a day once in awhile, and sometimes I do at the weekend, but never during the work week.

I wash it daily, and do some minor styling (now that I have the great haircut that doesn't need tons of work).

Living in FL does result in perspiring (sometimes MUCH) so washing it daily (plus the use of product) is still a necessity for me.

I usually wash weekly and do the wet down in between. If circumstances change, of course I will wash early.

My DH has to wash his hair daily or else he looks like he stuck his head in a bowl of oil. YUK!

For me, I wash my hair every 3-4 days. My hair gets dry if I do it more often. I just brush it every night to get the "dust" out and to redistribute the natural oils.

I'm curious to know whether or not the non-daily washers use any styling product in their hair? I have fairly oily hair, so I wash it daily. I also have fine, limp hair so I use a blow-drying serum and hair spray daily (just enough to control it, not a helmut). I once tried to skip the washing one morning when I was flying home from Disney. I had an early flight and wanted to get ready quickly. Before my flight even boarded, I couldn't stand myself. I felt and looked filthy.

I wash mine every single day. I don't use a blow dryer, don't color my hair and I don't use products.

My hair stylist says I have the healthiest hair she's ever seen. So obviously washing every day doesn't hurt my hair. :goodvibes

I have short, thin, blonde hair and I have to wash it everyday! I don't care if it's not good for it because I get it cut so much. The bad ends won't last long anyway!

The older I get, the oilier my hair seems to get, so I wash everyday. Occassionally, when I have no weekend plans I'll skip a day. Even when I was younger I'd wash it everyday though, especially back in the permed big hair days. Only way to get those big curls just right!;)

You're lucky to have such great hair! If I washed my hair every day, it would turn to straw. I just don't have enough natural oils. (I don't color or blow dry, either.)

I probably have enough for both of us.

I have really short coarse/wiry hair. It is extremely dry. I wash every 3 days.

My hair is colored and I have noticed that it is somewhat softer than before I started.
