To Stroller or Not

This is my first trip with my 4 yo (will turn 4 20 days before our trip). My husband and I keep debating as to whether to bring our stroller or not. We have an umbrella stroller (bright green, easy to find) that we can take. I like the idea of having it so I can have more storage for stuff in the parks (nothing would be put in it that I would cry if I lost it, important stuff would be on me at all times) and the obvious, for our princess. My question is this: will it be bothersome/cumbersome to take into the parks, around the resort, and in an airport? How many have taken their own stroller vs renting one? When we took our 7 yo (he was 5 then) we only had to rent one for epcot so I don't have a lot of experience with one at Disney. Any advice you can give please do. TIA

We typically rent one from an outside company. I just don't love having the extra item through security. I travel extensively for work and I have seen how they abuse those strollers in baggage handling so I would be worried about it getting broken and needing to get one at the last minute. The ones that are available for renting are larger and sturdier (City Mini) and are a good place for the kids to crash if they need a nap. During our December trip DD fell asleep at Hollywood Studios and we put the rain cover on it and pulled the visor real low.. she took a nice long rest under there.. it was great.

I'd probably bring it. It would be good for the airport cause the 4 year old can ride and you'll get around faster.

For the arks you can bring it and then park it for example, you can park it in the stroller area in Fantasyland and do everything in that area before retrieving your stroller and moving onto the next land.

With a four year old, I would say definitely yes, bring your umbrella stroller. WDW is a LOT of walking for those little legs! You could rent one, but that would be an unnecessary expense (IMO).

On our last trip we had two umbrella strollers and they folded up so nice and skinny that DH and I had no problem taking them on the buses. I don't think I would like trying to bring a full size stroller on a bus, but we had no problems with the small umbrella ones. We hang a bag over the handles where we keep pull ups, wipes, sunscreen, etc. (like you said - nothing you would be too upset about losing).

We drive, so I don't have experience flying with a stroller, but many people do it, so I'm sure someone will chime in about that.

Personally, yes i would bring a stroller. It's a nice to have. Umbrella strollers are lightweight and easy to transport so it wouldn't be that much trouble.

I did not know there was an area where you can do that...I like that! Where is the parking area st in Fantasyland?
