to Round 3...And Beyond! Moms Panel Hopefuls and Friends

Good morning, everyone!

My family allowed me to sleep in this morning and it was wonderful. I'm assuming that they all decided that we were not going to church today since we usually leave around 9am and nobody has showered yet.

We have my company party this afternoon. It's our 5th anniversary and they are throwing a picnic at the owner's house. Of course, today it decides to be in the 50s so I'm going to try to spend as much time inside as possible.

And I will try not to check my phone too much.

Morning all!

I won't be checking email or the boards much today - got mass in a bit, and then I am taking DS to a train show, and then there is a pack meeting at a pumpkin patch late afternoon. And since my phone is only a step or two above tin cans & string, I'll be out of touch for most of the day.

Good Morning waiting room peeps!! :grouphug:

I woke up this morning whistling a happy tune! :rolleyes1:goodvibes :cool1: In just FIVE DAYS I'll be back in the WORLD where dreams come true!!! pixiedust: I'm so excited to see the new FLE someone is going to have to drag me out of there!!!! :upsidedow Also I made our final payment for January at BLT (renting DVC points) so I won't even have a chance to be homesick when I leave next week. :lovestruc:lovestruc:cloud9::cloud9: Aaaaaaannndddd if dreams really do come true I might be back in December, fingers crossed ;) , with all my new Team2013 friends!!! :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2: KEEPING HOPE ALIVE!!! :grouphug::grouphug::grouphug::grouphug: So all in all I've got nothing to be stressed about, I am RELEASING the stress and focusing on the positive!!! ((that is until John and Laura start blowing up twitter again)) :lmao:

Have a wonderful Sunday everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good morning everyone! We left Disney last night and came to my parents house (they live about 40 miles away). We are here until Tuesday morning and then back to WDW, MK on Tuesday and then DH and I are going to Hoop Dee Doo and Wednesday is a short day at HS and then back to Fort Wilderness for the golf cart parade and trick or treating!

Have a great day everyone!

Today we went fishing in Bay Lake and Seven Seas. We caught a ton of fish and had a great time. I wish I could post iPhone picks to the forum from the app to share.

We had lunch at WCC it was tasty and hilarious. My 3 year old blew the paper off a straw and the waitress then gave him a huge stack of them and said have at it! We also had the pleasure of needing ketchup :-) my son loved the pony rides too.

LOVE WCC! Not thrilled that they changed the menu though.

Next time you go to WCC, hide the crayons and tell your server that you need crayons, and see what happens! I thought the ketchup was hysterical...wait til you see what they do with crayons. :rotfl:

I was a little disappointed about the menu changes but we still all enjoyed our food. Last year (maybe the year before?) I had a fried chicken sandwich with pineapple slaw or something like that and it was amazing.

Will have to remember about the crayons!

I'm starting to feel like this too. But the longer it takes, the less sure I am about advancing to R3... too much time to think! LOL :coffee:

Me too! I don't want it to be "over"....and now I keep second-guessing myself. :sad1: Going over and over my essays and video in my head. Last week I was so confident and excited! :thumbsup2 Now I just feel blah. :crazy2: I guess that's a defense mechanism for me. I figure if I "down play" it then it won't hurt so bad when the news finally comes. :sad2:

At the same time I want to know! This is so stressful! :badpc::badpc::badpc:

Ok so again I am up early and now I am nervous- I know the emails have not gone out but the longer it takes I sit here and stress and tell myself not to worry but it is hard. I have the list of potential questions and started to look at them and then I put them down because I don't want the disappointment to come - ugh!! Thanks for listening- it is getting harder each and every day- they won't send them today on a Sunday will they?

Laura

Well, if you think about it :scratchin , they were :coffee: the essays and :happytv: the videos last Sunday...so it is very possible! Not to mention, IT and all the other WDW staff work 7 days a week. And, if they have sent them very late at night on a Saturday before, I can't see a Sunday being out of the question! :thumbsup2 Trying to stay positive, but I am so frustrated, and now I am getting mad because they are making us wait.

Good morning though everyone! The Halloween Party last night was so much fun! I will try to post some pics later, if I figure out how!
Here's a list of some of the costumes (this was an adult party):
1. Me & hubby were NFL ref's.
2. Stacey Jax & a press reporter from Rock of Ages.
3. Lt. Dangle from Reno 911 (you can Google Image that one!)
4. Katniss from Hunger Games
5. Mad Hatter, but not the original, the creepy crazy Johhny Depp one.
6. The Value commercial guy.
7. there were two "Flo's" from the Progressive commercials.
8. Mayhem from the Allstate commercials.
9. a sock monkey
10. naughty medieval nurse, no clue, don't ask. She gave out cherry jello shots in large syringes though! Very fun, tasted like swedish fish.
11. a bag lady
12. a naughty fireman. (why are all women's good costumes "naughty or sexy?"
13. naughty Alice
14. naughty Dorothy from Wizard of Oz
15. Witch from Wizard of Oz
16. School girl and priest - but she was the priest and her BF was the school girl :rotfl2:
That's all I can think of right now. There were about 30-35 of us! This is the 10th year for the party and it was amazing. The couple who throw the party every year have the coolest house every, and their 3rd floor is practically a public bar - nice bar, pool table, foosball, darts, great furniture. And they have the best bar & sports decor in there too!
She has the most amazing Halloween decorations - nothing is cheesy, very expensive, and they are in every nook and cranny of the house. She takes down their regular decor, it must take her weeks!
She comes up with the best games. We used to do a scavenger hunt all over town - in costume, 4 to a car. It was nuts, like a Chinese fire drill, in and out of cars. We've had to do everything from convince McD's to give us a free happy meal toy, to going in a bar and asking for a condom, to going to a grocery store - buying some really funny stuff like tampons, ex lax, refried beans - then we would have to have the cashier return/void the transaction and we would have to bring back the receipt. We'd have to steal a political sign and bring it back. Take pics in a cemetery, at a firehouse with a fireman and a truck! Some crazy stuff, and we can't take any purses, cell phones, or money! She put tiny gray mice all over the house hidden in the decorations and we'd break up into to teams and have to find them. So many cool games! And then they give out prizes- wine, import beers with different flavors, stuff like that. They are some of our dearest friends, and through my cancer they were always there. We really have some amazing friends! And they totally understand my obessions with Disney, so they are very excited for me! :yay:

Have fun today everyone! I hope today is the day! pixiedust:

I had another strange MP dream last night:

I made R3, and Laura announced a change to the process: that everyone they were considering would be flown to WDW for a day, and Laura would meet with them in person to decide who would be best for the panel.

Well, as exciting as this sounded, it ended up being really stressful because they wanted us to leave THAT NIGHT, and I had no childcare since my DH is in Vegas. I ended up dropping my DD off at my mother-in-law's house, even though no one was home (of course, I'd never do this IRL, my DD is only 3!) so I could get to my flight in time. I kept trying to call my MIL to tell her DD was there, but she wasn't answering, so I was completely stressed out about no one being there for my DD.

Then, when I arrived at WDW, a huge storm was coming through (the Frankenstorm?) and everything was closing. Laura met all the R3 applicants in the lobby of the boardwalk, but informed us we wouldn't be staying overnight since all the hotels were closing due to the storm. Instead, we'd go spend some time at MK just for a few hours, and then we'd all go home.

When we got to MK, the storm was going through and it was really scary and dangerous. A Dumbo car that had apparently blown off the ride few through the air, fell at our feet and shattered, and there was various debris flying all over the place, like being in a tornado. I was so freaked out that I couldn't focus on impressing Laura, but everyone else was, and they were all way up ahead of me, chatting and becoming friends. I tried to get in on the conversation, but I was too worried and couldn't focus.

We walked out of the park to the monorail station, which, despite the weather was still running. Laura said there is a secret monorail that is only used by Disney execs, and that it goes to the airport. She said we could take it to get back to the airport quickly before the storm got worse. I was terrified to get on the monorail with the storm as bad as it was, but I noticed everyone was saying goodbye to Laura, and there were hugs and chatter since they all had been making friends the whole time. In a desperate attempt to try to regain ground in getting to know her, I gave her a big hug and said I was sorry for being so distracted, and would she still consider me? She just smiled and said to never give up on my dreams, and I knew I was out.

Then I woke up, relived that that didn't really happen :thumbsup2 But also thinking that any dream interpreter would probably tell me I'm gearing up for disappointment :scared:

Ooooooo I love the HDD!!! :dance3::dance3::dance3:
So glad you guys are having fun!!!! :thumbsup2

I'm trying to follow along the best I can. I Iove hearing how everyone is keeping themselves busy passing the time.

I'm using my phone and am having an issue with the DIS app. I'm receiving push notifications, although I have turned them off. Anyone else experience this?

I hope you all have a great Sunday. I'm cleaning my house, going to get pumpkins with my kiddos and have a 40th bday party to attend tonight.

Pixie dust to everyone!

Quieter day for us today. DH took DS to the park to play some football. there's a group of guys that play every Sunday. All adults, but DS10 has been joining them lately. thankfully they play two-hand touch and not tackle!! DH sits on the sidelines and watches! LOL Colder than it's been here in Chicago. Dreaming about Florida sunshine. December would be nice... :bitelip: Doing laundry and getting ready to watch some football on TV. GO BEARS!! :cheer2:

Hey everyone! Today DH is going to help my parents put away the last of their lawn furniture and we're just going to rest at home. Hopefully we'll start feeling better before things get crazy and the power goes out. Maybe later I'll make some popcorn and have a movie party with my kids. They love doing that!

I was thinking this morning about R3 and it really hit me that most of us are going to end up disappointed. I just want to let you all know that whoever makes it through to the next round and on to the panel, I am SO excited for you!!!! Whether I make it or not I still feel excited and happy for those that will. I wanted to say that now because if I don't make it I know it's probably going to be difficult to express that the way I want to. Just throwing that out there...lol.

I hope everyone has a great Sunday and PLEASE prepare as best you can for this crazy storm!!

I know what you mean Marcy. I've been distancing myself from this thread for that very reason. It's going to be tough when those emails come out- all over. :(

I'm seeing such an amazing group of people with the Disney spirit here- that I can't imagine ANY of them not getting to move on. But we know that in reality, most of us won't.

I second your thoughts- if I move on or not, I will be CHEERING you guys all on!!! I know there's a place for all of us on the panel. It just may not be this panel... but our pink and blue polo shirts are out there if we keep believing!

Faith Trust and Pixie dust yall!

I'm baaaaack! :stir:

I decided to brave the grocery store, since they are now predicting the storm to hit us Monday/Tuesday, and it's speeding up, so we are probably going to see a lot of power outages, and it's only 40 degrees here! :crazy2:

I wish we had a generator. They are sold out all over the place.

I took the last flashlight, and the last of the candles!
Milk and bread were running out too.
I was stupid though, because I bought all food I would have to cook! I need to go back later and get some canned stuff - I am sure some restaurants will have back up generators.

Good luck everyone! Stay safe. :thumbsup2
