What are the top three positive things that you experienced during 2009?

It has been a zoo around here, and I missed Nikki's question last week.

1. My Family - 2009 was a tough year. I had to go through a lot of personal stuff at the beginning of 2009. My parents and brother stood by me through it all. In addition, they each found a way to surprise me, and bring some joy into my life. Now that I have found my smile again.....they are with me to celebrate the happy ending to 2009.

2. The wheelchair that was custom designed to meet my seating needs on WDW attractions - My wheelchair continues to allow me more freedom to get around than ever before. It has made 3 trips to Orlando this year, and I have at least 2 more trips in the works for 2010 (after graduation from Brevard Comm. College of course). The chair held me in place on Kilimanjaro Safari, Toy Story Mania, and during IllumiNations. I have not had the chance to see "Wishes!" in this chair yet, but I am looking forward to it on a future trip.

3. This site - The DIS is wonderful for information, but this year has been the year that the DIS became a big part of my life, and I found many new friendships. Thank you all for the laughter, tears, and fun. It is all very overwhelming and I am still reflecting on DIS-A-Palooza weekend. A very emotional (in a happy way) experience for me. I began the year doubting myself, but I continued to follow my heart. I lost a friendship because of my hopes and dreams, but I have gained so many more friendships because I kept persuing those same hopes and dreams. Thanks to encouragement from my family and the people here.

Thanks Skip for sharing your 2009 memories. Mostly, life has a way of working out. Glad your year ended on a positive note. Just so you know I am very, very shy. While I was at DAP I spoke to very few people. I never know what to say to strangers. You are so very open on the boards (& plus I enjoyed your piece on the Train ride) that I felt totally comfortable stopping to introduce myself to you.
Hope this year is great and may they all continue to get better. Penny

Skip, I'm glad that your year ended on a positive note and that you have such a wonderful support system. It was a pleasure to meet and talk with you at DATW @ DAP. You are an inspiration to so many. Life was giving you lemons and you made sweet lemonade! Your continued drive to complete your schooling is awe inspiring. I look forward to your blogs and seeing you at future trips to WDW!
