There's a critter in my garage! I was putting trash in recyclables and heard this high screech...thought it sounded like a loud cricket??? Turned around and saw this tiny butt go around the corner of my steps to my shelving unit! Mouse??? Chipmunk??? Other??? Needless to say, when I get back from the movies I am going to have traps! The 2 little things near the door and the poison are years old so I must update my defenses! Now I just have to go jump in Patrick!

Don't you dare hurt Mickey or Chip or Dale!

D&DDisney So sorry to hear about your loss.
JOCAmom Thanks for forwarding Grumpy Pirate's messages. :thumbsup2
Pikester did the butt have a tail? Have to know if you're after Mickey or Chip and Dale. ;)
Nice to hear from MagiKitty :)

Don't you dare hurt Mickey or Chip or Dale!

I'm not about to ask his name! :rotfl: I had the garage door open some to give him an escape. I honked my horn before I went out to get in Patrick. I have 3 enclosed traps now set. I saw 'someone' before but never caught anyone. They may have just been passing through. I won't get too hyper until I see one in the house! :scared1:

I saw Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs. Anyone else see it? I just loved it. The book is funny but the movie was a riot. It's one I could see again. We were the only 2 in the theater so we could talk and have fun. Mom was right about old ladies going in the afternoon!

DH took the kids to see Coudy with a Chance of Meatballs back in October. The kids liked it and DH said he thought it was good too. I'm hoping to take the kids to see the Christmas Carol movie this Sunday. I'm using it to get into the Christmas mood for our trip.

Evening! I spent the day working on my Thanksgiving day menu. whgrn, I took your advice and figured out the cooking times and even where each thing has to be made. Many of the desserts and appetizers will be made a day or 2 ahead of time. I think I might be able to pull this off.

M&N, there's a small wooded area behind our house so I'm just waiting for our first critter.

Marie, we've eaten at quite a few of the places you have listed. We even did Bubba Gump's when we were at Universal last year. That was good food, expensive, but good. Remember, the meals at Cosmic Ray's are huge and great for sharing. Oh, and DD is 6. But I swear she's going on 13. :lmao:

DL55, I signed on yesterday morning to find all those pm waiting for me from another poster on the dis. I thought it was sweet and forwarded to some of you to forward along to others. Nothing like spreading a little pixie dust. :goodvibes

JOCA, you have my cell number. If you get in a bind while cooking on TG, give me a call and I'll try to help you out!!!! Hey, that's even better than the Butterball Hotline!!!

I got to 110 degrees tonite on the rack!!! WooHooo!!! But now I don't know what to do next, as my goal for the end of the week was 110, which is as high as I ever got with the left knee.

M&N I hope you catch your critter. My feeling is, you don't pay rent, you don't get to live in my house. Even the kids have their chores, and Duke is the official bed-warmer, so he earns his keep!

No more sightings...the traps have a spring and shup up when there's a guest...but the writing is soooo small, I would have to be up close to tell! Patrick is alone in the garage but he's not afraid! :rotfl:

Who got the email of how pumpkin pies are made? It's funny!

Nothing on tv so I Wiied...is that a word? I thought it sounded better than played with the Wii! :rotfl:

I guess I'll surf the CB to see if anything interesting...

Good evening ladies.

M&N, we live in a small town so most of the time our theater is usually pretty empty. I love it that way! When it is more crowded it seems like it never fails that you get someone behind you who can't stop talking, is coughing like they are on their death bed or with crying children. Thank heavens it is not that way very often. Glad you got to enjoy the movie with the theater all to yourselves. BTW, I prefer the daytime matinees too.

I hope you catch the squatter who's taken up residence in your garage!

Wendy, the story behind our Granny Payne is not a simple one. While I have wondered at times about her son's decisions too his relationship with her has been quite complicated over the last few years. Bless her heart.... she has some serious mental problems that we had no idea of when we first met her. I am not sure which clinical term she is classified as but she has had several mental break downs. During one of her most recent episodes she was downright cruel to her son's wife so I can see how it might be difficult for them to have her there with the rest of the family. No one knows what might set her off. Not exactly a good excuse but possibly makes things more understandable. I really do not think he did not invite her at all. I think he probably left it open for her to decide which day she wanted to come in case she did want to make other plans.... which she probably would have preferred to spend TG with us anyway.
I have no idea how we have always managed to stay on her good side. I think I am more like the daughter she does not have so I tend to have a calming affect on her. DH and the kids always go out of the way to be extra sweet to her and cut up with her so they are also like family to her too. Since we do not see her all the time I suppose we are able to avoid ticking her off. She has really been a blessing to us, especially since my kids have no living grandparents. Still, she is by no means an easy woman to get along with. Mental health patients are certainly not anything I ever thought I would be involved with... but what do you do? We love her.
I hope you enjoy your new bike. Last time I tried to ride one I found out that my rear end is not made for a bicycle. :scared:
I am glad to see that someone else understands about the donations. Now I am just hoping that DH forgets it and doesn't slam his niece for even bringing it up. He said he had thought about it some more and it really ticked him off. He, unfortunately, tends to speak his mind with not too much regard for anyone else around. Here's hoping no one brings it up.

JOCAmom, we tried Bubba Gump for the first time when we went to DL last year. We loved the food and had a blast. Our waiter was fantastic. He put us through a Forrest Gump trivia quiz which we did pretty good on. When he noticed DS's Jiu-Jitsu shirt he started a conversation with him on that which really made DS's day. I was really excited to find they had a restaurant near WDW. Here's hoping we have as much fun as we did in California.
Wow, if your DD is already starting the hormonal stuff at 6 imagine what she will be like when she hits the teen years! I will be hoping for your sake that she is getting the bulk of the symptoms out of her system early so maybe when the time comes it will be a breeze. I hate to even think about those years! DH is hoping for senility by the time our DD hits the dating years! :lmao:

I got my Christmas lights outside up today! Now I just need to go back and replace a few bulbs that are not working. That is such a pain! It is so strange getting Christmas stuff ready this early but I gotta get some of it done before we leave. DD can't seem to grasp the idea that when I say I am not going to put up all the decorations that I mean it. I don't have the energy to get all the decorations out AND get us ready for the trip so I am planning a much simpler decorating of the house for this year. As much as I love the parks during the Christmas season I really think we will be going in a different month than December next time around.

Well, it's past my bed time again. Night all!

Hi again everyone! Greetings from the sunny and unbearably hot Philippines!

Wendy, congrats on all the progress you've made since the surgery. I"m so glad it turned out so well.

M&N...my question is, was it a cute butt?

I am not a fan of pumpkin anything really, but for some reason that pumpkin cheesecake at Olive Garden called me and I've been its slave ever since. Yum.

I went to visit my grandfather's grave this morning. I wasn't here when he passed or for the funeral, so I thought it would have been a nice thing. None of my grandparents cared for me especially, but I still had to respect them even in death. Besides, what can holding a grudge versus a dead relative really do?

Also went to the marble quarry to check out stuff for flooring, Really liked the polished white marble, but how practical is that? While quite durable and pretty, it will be very slippery. Hmmm....also saw a great circular table with a lazy susan made of marble...and its only $175! Have to wait for that though.,,,too many other things to take care of.

THere is a Christmas lantern they make here called a parole. Usually it blinks different colors, may have the nativity scene in its center. I had one made for the house---its 5 feet across! Its huge! I can't wait to get it installed along the back patio. You probably can see it from China! Its like my version of the Osbourne lights.

Still recovering from the Katy Perry concert. Have a terrible cough. The PHils always tries to kill me. I kinda like my husky voice though.

My SIL, the one that my bad brother left, is coming for the weekend. She's going to hang out on the beach with me. No margaritas, though. BUt we do have a crab and prawn feast planned for Saturday night on the roof.

So glad I was able to check in again my fair ladies! I'm so excited for all the trip planning...are you????

Miss you all, MK

Woohoo! Magikitty checked in! :cool1:

Good morning TKers! Today is a work day for me so I just wanted to stop by and say Hello and wish everyone a good day. :goodvibes

WOW Kitty, sounds like you are keeping pretty busy over there! Don't let the Phils kill you though. We would miss you way too much!

Marie, your granny sounds like a piece of work! But I still think it's awful for her son not to include her--you just need to make allowances for people's shortcomings. It's not like it's her fault. And yes, I know it's easy for me to say since I'm not the one who has to put up with her, but I do know some folks with mental issues, and while it can be difficult, you make the effort anyway. Just sayin'...

Well, today is 3 weeks since surgery. One more week til I can drive! I cannot wait to get my independence back! Tomorrow I really need to grocery shop, and I hate having to ask someone to take me, but I have no choice. Ugh. I should be thankful for good friends who are willing to help, but I just hate to have to ask.

Well, everyone have a good day. M&N, enjoy the Great Mouse Hunt!!!

Glad to hear from MagiKitty
whgrn Only one more week til independence :goodvibes Too bad it coincides with Thanksgiving. I try not to go to the store right before the holiday. I really hate the crowds and everyone seems to wait til the last minute to shop. :crowded: (just love this smilie)
mariezp Disney in Dec is great but I think it puts more pressure on getting ready for the holidays and a vacation. Don't know if I'll do it again but you never know. ;)

Hi Kitty! Glad you are having a good time in the Phils. Even if you are a little horse.
1.gif
Was that the concert where you got to see Journey and the new singer???

M&N - Can't wait to see "Cloudy...". We usually only get to see movies when they come on DVD. Kids are hoping St. Nick brings "Up" and so am I. ;) Glad you having harmed Mickey Mouse yet. Every time I go into the garage I worry I am going to see something looking back at me. Since garage is attatched, I don't want something making its way into the house. :scared:

JOCA - So exciting to be planning for TG dinner. And making cookies in the new house. The first time I had TG I was kinda winging it when I made the turkey and it turned out just fine. This year I think I'd like to try brining (sp?) the turkey the night before. Supposed to make it tender and juicy. Anyone with experience with brine???

DL55 - Welcome back from camping. It must be so cool to have weather where you can camp year-round. I see your DH only has a little over a month until retirement. I bet he's excited.

Pikester - One more week baby!!!!:yay:

Whgrn - Yea on 110 degrees!!!!! We're going to have to call you the bionic woman pretty soon.

Marie - Its getting closer!!!!!!:dance3:

Things have been pretty low key here. Found out the funeral for DH's grandfather won't be until Tues. and he requested cremation. Try explaining that one to the kids. They keep thinking he will be in a casket like my Dad was so they can say good-bye. We'll have to try some other way for them to say good-bye.

Good luck with explaining cremation. I told both my boys back when my Beana passed that she was going to be cremated, which I explained aobut being burned and turned to ashes but she wouldn't feel it, etc. I told them that after that she would be in a little box and then buried in the ground. DS12 got it. DS8 thought that we were going to watch her be cremated, collect the ashes and then bury her. No wonder he refused to go to the ceremony. I didn't find out what he thought until after.

I can't believe we'll be leaving a week from tomorrow! 4AM baby!

Oh dear, I am NOT feeling well at all! My insides are all twisted up, I'm barfing again, gassy and bloated, and the cramps are awful. No idea where this is coming from. I haven't eaten much today, but I did have a few chocolate chip cookie bars, and that's what came back up. (sorry if this is TMI) So I have made the executive decision NOT to make Christmas cookies next week after all. Becuase if i make them, guess who will eat most of them? And then my clothes won't fit and I will be miserable. So if I don't make them I can't eat them, right. The kids will get over it--we haven't baked Christmas cookies in years and years. It will certainly make grocery shopping faster tomorrow.

Oh Wendy! I am so sorry that you are feeling crappy. I wish that there was something I could do to help you feel better.

Hello all!! No time to catch up right now, but wanted to say hi and that Walter is sounding a bit better today. not a huge improvement, but I will take anything at this point. Miss you!

Greetings from damp PA! Most of the leaves are down...but still blowing around my house.
Are hairy butts cute?
You are not responsible for the actions/attitudes of others. You felt it was right to visit the grave and you should do what you feel is right for yourself.
But can we see the lights from PA?
Hope your voice gets higher!

Woohoo! Magikitty checked in! :cool1:

Good day to you too! FYI---I'm spelling everyone with your first name your way!

Well, everyone have a good day. M&N, enjoy the Great Mouse Hunt!!!

I really do not want to find him. I would be happy if I never see that butt, or any like it, ever again!

mariezp Disney in Dec is great but I think it puts more pressure on getting ready for the holidays and a vacation. Don't know if I'll do it again but you never know. ;)

Wait until you see the decorations there...you will want to see them again! I haven't put up a tree since I've been going in Dec. But I have no kids...

I will be getting Cloudy when it comes out. I want to get Up too. I'll probably give it to Mom! (Because I want it and I'm getting myself Wii Fit!)

You can always buy cookies...take care of yourself.
I just realized I cannot make my favorite treat at Christmas---Chex Party mix. It has way too many carbs---I cannot portion control that for sure!

Hello all!! No time to catch up right now, but wanted to say hi and that Walter is sounding a bit better today. not a huge improvement, but I will take anything at this point. Miss you!

Thanks for checking in...we want Little Walter to be healthy for his first Christmas!

Hey DL55---I don't think I quoted you...but I still need to say HI!

Hey JO---did you give up on staying up late? I have no one to chat with.

Hey Sukie---Just HI!

HI M&N. I've been trying to stay up late but it seems to get harder and harder. I unpacked the rest of the miscellaneous boxes in my living and dining room today. I also organized our linen closet.

How are you tonight?
