Morning ladies! It's been a few days. We had some computer issues over the weekend but hopefully it will all be resolved by this evening. It seems that when they sent us a new router we got it installed correctly on our end but they sorta forgot to do the upgrade work on their end. Embarq is now Century so they are upgrading the system on top of that. I may be amazed at what I have been missing when it all kicks in! I may be surfing the internet at lightening speed! One can hope.
Been running here and there and staying busy. Yesterday we went into Fort Worth so DS could help referee the kids Jiu-Jitsu tournament. The rest of us made a grocery run at
Walmart. Lordy it was crowded! DD picked up a new fish to replace her now deceased algae eater. Our new leopardy looking catfish, "Katy", is adapting to her new home just fine. Grabbed lunch at one of our favorite Chinese eateries. My fortune was a good one.... it read "You will always get what you want through your charm and personality." I like it!

The prescription the doctor gave me last week seems to be working some. I definitely feel like eating less. So far only a few pounds but that is a start and is encouraging. Unfortunately, the stuff is making it hard to sleep. I have been waking up at 3 or 4 in the morning. I hope my body makes an adjustment cause I am sure getting tired running on 4 hours sleep.
M&N, looks like we will just have to wait and see if it works out for the 3 of us to get together. I am in awe of you!

My scrapbooking plans appear to all be on a permanent hold.
LITC, Oh goodie! More new family pictures! Those are some awesome and beautiful shots!
My GS had to go through trying a bunch of different formulas when he was a baby too. Sometimes it takes a while to get it just right but when he does he and you will be so much happier. It is stressful wondering how to pay off those baby bills. Oh how I remember fretting too. Babies sure do cost a lot! Don't worry too much. Even though they may call and drive you nuts they can not repossess Walter. He is yours for keeps even if it takes you 10 years to get him paid for.
D&D, how did your pumpkin carving go? I was checking out the park update on another site. About halfway down the page there is a video of some of the carvings at WDW if you need any more ideas.

There is also a link for "Ice!" at the Gaylord Palms. It really looks cool.... or should I say cold. Anybody ever went to one of those?)
I don't care much for any of the modern day sitcoms much either. Just give me something humorous and corny from way back when and I am a happy camper.
BKMETV, nothing like a little sibling insult for inspiration. Kate sounds like she is a pretty sharp cookie! Not often that the younger one gets to hold something over the older ones head....at least not around our house. My DS loves to stay one up on poor DD at all times.
When are you going on your trip? Be advised that if you go anytime soon there is a possibility that the Grand Canyon may not look just like you imagined! We drove back from DL several years ago in October and stopped off to see the Canyon. Only problem was that it was snowing! Not at all what we had in mind. It was very pretty but it was so overcast you could not get the real sense of what was out there because we just could not see very far. Also it was very strange seeing everything white instead of the amazing colors you see in all the photographs. Granted, I don't think it snows out there very often but just wanted to throw this out there in case you hadn't thought about it. (
We seem to attract bad weather when we travel. The one time we were close enough to see Niagara Falls.... they were frozen!)
Kitty, that was really quite a sale! Glad you were able to pick up some things to take with you on the trip. I saw Journey in concert when I was much younger. (
As a matter of fact, DD just got through watching Bedtime Stories and Journey is singing in my living room right now! Don't stop believin..... hold on to that feeling... )
I hope your nephew snaps out of it soon and gets back to his normal self. Probably just gonna take some time. Never hurts to throw in a prayer. I am behind on the modern humor as well. DS is correcting me all the time for saying something that has a totally different meaning than when I was growing up and usually it ain't good!
Hi
JOCAmom,
Pikester,
Sukie,
DL55 and everyone else!
Oh, one more thing. I don't know if any of you worry about the swine flu too much but my aunt sent me this article which is pretty interesting. I am not quite as worried as our president seems to be but thinking about heading into WDW with so many people.... after reading this I think I just might get me a bottle.... just in case.
Here is a piece of information that was passed on to us from a nurse who is an active member and friend of the PCUMC/PCCA, our local school family. Hope this helps!
"There is a soap, called Hibiclens, that I have known about for years that surgeons use to scrub with before they go into surgery. What I just learned yesterday is that after washing with it for just 30 seconds, it will kill germs on your hands for 6 hours! It leaves a film on your hands (that you can't see/feel) which will continue to kill 99.9% germs for the next 6 hours. It stays on your hands even if you wash them later in the day, but the effectiveness starts to wear off after 6 hours AND it is more effective in killing the swine flu than soap and water!
I heard a physician talking about it on the radio yesterday and he said that he and his kids wash their hands with it in the morning right before they leave for the day, and then he washes with it again at lunch time. So hopefully they will have a bit more protection against swine flu as well as all the other germs that they encounter everyday. You can buy it "at any pharmacy", but I got mine at CVS, and I heard Walgreens has it too; it cost about $10.00 for 8 oz bottle, but you only use 1 tsp to wash. Washing for 30 secs has the same effectiveness as washing for 60 secs or 3 mins."
