OOps Pikester..got you and Bopsmom mixed up. Guess I can't keep track of more than a couple of posts at a time.
The OP of that thread started a new one to "explain" it got closed too. The usual "free" trip.
Sometimes I'm tempted to start a thread on the Budget Board asking for advice. But I'm a chicken and I wouldn't listen anyway.

Looks like I am not the only one who gets people mixed up sometime. At least it wasn't me trying to congratulate the wrong someone on a job again!

It is pretty scary out there asking for advice! You can always ask questions here and we won't even take offense if you don't listen to us.

I've been here what....2 years and now I get points because it sucks to be a teacher that doesn't get a bonus/paid because SOMEONE doesn't pay their bill....sorry it was too much....
That and she was begging last Christmas for handouts and then goes on 2 or 3 trips this year.....awww yea, that pushed me over the edge.

What can you say...even us Southern girls get pushed beyond the limits of courtesy sometimes.....

I say tell the deadbeat to pay up! But make sure she knows exactly how much she owes. She may be a very nice person who just isn't aware of how much this debt is affecting you.

The deadbeat claims she has schooling to pay for...needs Spanish lessons of all things! I guess her next lavish trip will to the Mexican Riviera. I think the pens were to pay off the tag fairy too!

Good morning everyone, sorry I didn't have a chance to post when we got home last night. Just really tired and wanted to go to bed...but how wonderful it was to read everyone's chatter yesterday...it brought a smile to my face!

Nephew is doing outstanding in his recovery. They're taken his IV line out, and is sitting in a chair. Today they're going to try to get him to walk a little and try to take his chest tubes out. He really started to feel the pain, and since the IV is out, he's taking pills, so it takes a while for the pain to subside. He slept for the most part yesterday, but it was good to see him in a chair.

He tried to talk to me a little last night about what happened, and I can already tell such tremendous guilt and confusion about the last 48 hours. The police talked to him yesterday, but he was pretty fuzzy-headed and they'll try again today.

I am so saddened by the loss of our friend Racer. These tactics are just crazy. People should be booted off for stupidity! If you ask for other people's opinions on something, you should take it with a grain of salt and know that some people are going to be brutally honest or completely disagree with you. Discussions are healthy and tend to get heated. Look at all those town meeting about health care. We're not deporting those people.

I didn't even look at that post. I'd get angry that her priorities are messed up. Hey, I'm struggling to pay for my vacation too, but the only one who is sacrificing anything is me. And that's just coz I'm too cheap to splurge on anything else!

Kitty, glad you were able to get some rest. Those long days at the hospital are so stressful and can really wear you down. Glad to hear that DN is doing so well. That would be more than a little freaky to come back to the realization of what some wacko had done to you. He certainly has no reason to feel guilty though.
I have to agree. If I am struggling to pay for my vacation it won't be effecting anyone but me. My bills will certainly get paid first and if it's stressing me out I sure won't come looking for sympathy here on the Dis!


Got one last shot of the doggie collar before we head to the vet. Bet she will be glad to get it off. I know I will!

Long long long story short, he has had a small heart attack. He will be having a cardiac cath at 11:00. Problem is, the dye is hard on the kidneys and could push him into needing dialysis. Swell. They will not treat the issue today unless it's an emergency--they will give him a couple days to rest his kidneys and then treat the problem on Monday (angio, bypass, whatever).

His big concern? The golf tournament he and DD are supposed to play in together on Monday! Gotta love my dad!

Please please pray for him to do well and be ok. i am staying with Mom for the duration, but I can use her computer so I will be in touch.

I live by the miss piggy philosophy:
'my needs are simple, my wants are extremely expensive' I have no qualms cancelling a trip and DD has had no permanent damage from it....she was taught very early on the phrase..."we can't afford it" or 'we don't need that right now

My big plans for the weekend is nothing! Really I have a 7 yr old bday party to go to on Sunday so no Hershey this weekend. I know I'll be stuck watching the Phillies. I'll probably miss some of the race but I don't expect Jr to win or anything. (I can say that because Racer can't respond!)

Okay, all these bad things happening lately. Sheesh! Please let it end soon.
DH came home from work and announced that the company is having a big meeting in Sept. Rumor has it, more restructuring and people being let go. Nothing definite yet, but 9 time out of 10 these rumors are spot on. I pray we are spared this next round. However, even if we are spared, there will be others who are not. I really hate this economy right now!!!!! It's like living on eggshells all the time.

I have until Oct to cancel the trip and will not hesitate to do so if things go bad. That way I can pay off my debts.

Well, crap! Just got back from the vet. The darn dog still managed to lick part of her incision so now the part she could reach is infected! He gave us an even longer cone she will have to wear for 5 more days! I don't think our woodwork can take it. We are going to have to do some repair painting already. DD has decided she will watch the dog 24/7 without the cone so we can leave it off until night and if we have to leave. We will see how that goes. I ordered some bitter stuff a few days ago that is supposed to help keep her from licking. Hopefully, that will get here today.
