Okay how the hec did my multi not mult quote your racerchicky????????? Some things never change!:rotfl2: Sad but true. I do have one great computer challenge I accomplished:banana:I actually uploaded, yes pic's on FB with no help from my dear children! Okay signing out, really going to try to stay with it. Oh yeah, where are my late nite junkies???????

Good morning! I'm back! I've missed all of you terribly....its gotten super humid around here and while I have on occassion seen the sun, he's playing hide and seek. Nevertheless, I can gauge the temperature and humidity by the height of my hair and I can tell you, its going to be a doozy today!

Yeah! Disney54us has returned! How you and yours doing? And thank you, for joining in this TKer madness all those years ago! I was feeling so dumpy and alone and I was so fortunate to find kindred spirits...and some fantastic women!

D&D...so sorry to hear about your family's loss. As always, you're in my thoughts and prayers. Big hugs to everyone during this difficult time. On the other hand--go to Disney for those prices! It looks like there will be lots of promos coming out. They extended the free dining deadline, and I'm sure there'll be something else coming out.

Marie, I'm becoming an AK fan also. I love, love the Finding Nemo show. The fact that its cool and air conditioned may have something to do with it, but it is a gorgeous show. I always get a little teary eyed. Try to get there early and get a spot closer to the stage. I went to the Rafiki place for the first time this past trip. We got to touch an alligator and the petting zoo residents were not that cooperative. But it was really quiet and unhurried there and I enjoyed it. I also took a pic with jiminy cricket, which I thought was really cool.

M&N...sorry to hear of your loss also. Did you ever hear from Virginia? Please be safe on your trip down and take care of everyone.

Wendy...did you figure out what to eat yet? I've been doing a lot of cold salads. I made egg salad, tuna pasta, and crab salad so far. yesterday was burgers though...

I missed the facial hair discussion! So far, so good in that department, although I am lazy in getting my brows waxed. I can never pluck properly and I end having one groomed brow, and one out of control. I did change my hair part the other day (due to humidity) and I found the longest white hair ever! It was hiding but I got it. Its my first. I'm greatly saddened by it.

Did you know that only 14% of the population is left handed? I thought at least one third of people would be. I'm left handed, and found that to be fascinating....

So, I didn't make it to the closet. We're still ignoring each other and it seems to be working for the moment. I did have the annual tossing of the makeup. For all the products I have, I should be the most beautiful woman in the world! It was really embarassing to see how much I have. I've bared down to the "essentials", which it still a lot, but its a start.

I got my new phone and my computer hates it. It refuses to sync with it. I've been talking to Verizon for days about it. I must say, all of the customer service reps I've been dealing with have been wonderfully friendly and patient, if not at all helpful. I decided to buck the system and get a micro-SD adapter and just download my music straight and avoid using the Verizon service all together. My mind is at peace and I'm sure Verizon is tired of dealing with me! So, the phone is cute but darn if its not going to get scruffed up. They don't make cute covers for it (I don't like the silicone ones), so I'm searching for an alternative---preferably of the Hello Kitty persuation.

I gave a friend a ride home the other day and he called my car the "temple of the Kitty". I have Hello Kitty floor mats, sun shield, seat belt covers and she's bopping her head on the dashboard. I'm waiting to get seat covers, which I saw in Target....

Ok, enough babbling....are you sure you missed me? Ha.

Big hugs and warmest regards to all of you...chat with you later!

MK I want to see your car! It sounds sooooo cool!

I WISH I could do egg salad or tuna salad for dinners. DD hates eggs and fish, and DS wont eat mayo. *sigh*

It is only about 73 here this morning, but the humidity must be about 120%!! It is soooo muggy. The sun was supposed to come out today, but its clousy and grey. I think all the weather forecasters should be fired.

mariezp That's funny, we got a pamphlet from the local funeral parlor too. I know I'm technically past middle age (unless I live to 100) but I don't think I'm that close to the end either. Besides I just want to be cremated and no funeral service.

Disney54us Congrats on uploading your pictures without help. :woohoo:

Disney54us - :banana:yeah on the uploading pics thing. I know about your "disability";) and I am so proud of you.

Kitty - My DS11 is a southpaw too. :thumbsup2

The weather here is still very hot and humid (90s) but the kids are loving it. If I can ever get the pool chemicals to be just right, I'll be a happy camper too.

Tonight DH and I are going out to dinner for our anniversary. Can't believe it been 17 years. (we were just babes back then you understand ;))Nothing fancy, just a quiet night out at a real restaurant. The boys are invited to one of those birthday parties w/ a bunch of inflatable jumpy things so they will be having fun as well.

Congrats D&D and your DH on your anniversary! Here's to many, many more wonderful years together (and a great dinner)

Thanks Kitty!

LivinInTheCastle, glad to see you checking back in. Didn't you have a sonogram a few days ago?

Kitty, thanks for your take on AK. I am going to love the shows. DD will love the petting zoo area. Maybe the guys will at least enjoy the trails. DS's hobby is watching girls so maybe if there are plenty of those he can find a way to stay entertained.
I'd like to extend my sympathy on the discovery of your white eyebrow. Unfortunately, it will probably be followed by more but maybe it will be in the FAR future. Wait until you get kids... before you know it you have more white hairs than you do your normal colored!
Congratulations on the tossing of the makeup. That's a start! That closet better watch out or it will be next! Personally, I don't wear much makeup anymore.... more like can't. If I put anything on my eyes 8 times out of 10 I will end up with a migraine. My makeup routine takes all of 5 minutes now! lips & cheeks. Viva naturel!
Yeah for the new phone. Boo for all the trouble. The "temple of the kitty" sounds really cute.

DL55, I hope the funeral parlors don't know something we don't!

D&DDisney, HAPPY ANNIVERSARY! & HAPPY 3000th post!

Hi Pikester, disney54us, whgrn and anyone else I missed.

I've spent a good part of the day, in between interruptions, reading some interesting articles. Have any of you had any problems using Splenda? There seems to be quite a few people out there who seem to relate weight gain with Splenda. Upon further reading there may be even more problems. Maybe I am grasping at straws in hopes of explaining why I have gained and can't lose weight. None the less, I am going to attempt to cut it out of my diet to see if it might make any difference. I'll keep ya'll posted.

Hi marie!

I use Splenda every day (at least 3 times per) and that has nothing to do with any weight gain I have had.

Good VERY humid evening to everyone else! The thermometer here is showing 78 and it's 7:30P. Looks like a fun night of trying to fall asleep.

I want a pool dag nabbit!

(Please forgive me, I'm on a pool kick and DH is saying NO. Actually, he said pool or Disney and since you can all see my ticker.....)

What a shocking week it has been with the celebrity deaths. Ed McMahon, Farrah Fawcett, and now Michael Jackson. May they all rest in peace.

It was hot and sunny here today. No AC here yet though. Not hot enough.

MK, nice to see you back. You gotta post pics of your Temple.

marie, I don't wear make up either unless it's a very special occasion. I just don't like it and don't see a point of wearing just to go to the grocery store.

D&D, congrats of both your anniversary and your post count. :cool1:

Pikester, I wish we had a pool too. My kids would be in it all day and night. The love the water. Maybe when we move.

I've spent the last hour or so watching old Michael Jackson videos with my kids. Just showing them what I grew up with and thinking was "cool" DD6 hid behind me when I played Thriller. Yes, the girl who thinks Chucky is cool hid from Thriller. :rotfl: I showed them the video when he did the moonwalk on national tv. Absolutely incredible even now. I used to be able to do that way back. Not even close anymore. :rotfl2:

Even though I never knew the truth about him, Michael Jackson was an icon of my youth. I hope whatever troubled him in his life, is gone from his next journey.

Farrah Fawcett fought such a hard battle. Hearing the news of her death makes me thank God everyday for my mom. She's been fighting cancer for 8 years. I know the day will come sooner than I ever want but I am thanking God for everyday that we do have.

Though Ed McMahon does not touch my heart as closely as Farrah and Michael, may his family find peace in his passing. I've seen clips of his on the old Tonight Show with Johnny Carson and they were classic. But I will always remember him as the Publisher Clearing House guy. Darn, who wouldn't want Ed McMahon showing up at their door with that check?

May they all rest in peace. :sad1:

Good happy Friday friends! This week seems to have just sped by. We're definitely in the throes of summer here---hot and humid during the day, huge thunderstorms at night.

I can't believe all the news coverage. I really like Michael Jackson, although I'm more of a fan of Off the Wall than Thriller. I remember being excited when Rock with Your would come on the radio. That song still gets me up and dance. I wonder what will happen to his three children. I'm glad to see that he is being remembered for his musicianship and talent rather than the strangeness of his personal life. Its such a loss.

The loss of Farrah Fawcett is tragic too. I applaud her efforts to bring to light the hardships of cancer and the battles on so many fronts when you confront your own mortality. I feel for her love Ryan and Redmond.

Both of them were so so young.

Ok, enough of that. No big plans this weekend except trying to clean the Temple of the Kitty. Actually, trying to convince my nephews to clean it for me. I hate using the car vaccuum.

Have a good day everyone and chat with you later!

D&DDisney Congrats on 3000 posts. :woohoo:

Yesterday was a sad day.. Remembering Farrah Fawcett and Michael Jackson. :sad1: Thriller was one of my favorite albums. Also reinforces my desire to see Alaska. Who knows what will happen. They were near my age.

Hi DL55....I totally agree. Life is just so short and so precious. I'm glad you're fulfilling that dream of seeing Alaska. Memories are priceless and getting to share it with someone you love just makes it that much more special.

 for MagiKitty
:grouphug: for all my TK friends.

Although saving is important remember to have a little fun in your life! :flower3:

Hi ladies:

Well it's the first day of summer vacation here...kids finished school yesterday. The sun is shining but it's rather cool because the breeze is coming in off Lake Huron, and the lake is still only around 55*F. Usually everyone is swimming in it by now...it's been a crappy cold spring!!

Went to Toronto yesterday for a retirement party so got to visit with all the folks I use to work with...it was a great time but boy I don't miss living in the city...traffic was horrendous.

Happy Anniversary!

Thanks Kitty!

(Please forgive me, I'm on a pool kick and DH is saying NO. Actually, he said pool or Disney and since you can all see my ticker.....)

Your welcome to come swim in mine anytime...the drive over is a killer though:rotfl:

Hope everyone has a great day.

I totally agree...I'm such a huge coupon/savings person. Both BF and I are having a hard time jusitfying the $100 cost of MNSHHP. That and the rental car issue.

I'm pretty good about saving on a regular day, but when it comes to vacation, its hard to say no and keep the wallet closed! :rotfl2:

Man is it hot here today! (82 in the shade) A little muggy too. I have all the windows closed on the first floor with window fans exhausting in the second floor windows. Out darn heat! Out!

My DH was saying that deaths in Hollywood always come in threes. He just didn't expect it to happen so soon. I was over at the Micheal Jackson thread and posted a little message. I couldn't believe how many people were being horrible to the guy! :sad2: I guess some people were not taught about there always being a "time and place".

Not much going on here today. Hanging out with the kiddos. DS11 and I watched a few episodes of Harper's Island that I had recorded. That show is gorrrrrrrry! I didn't realize how bad it was going to be. I guess the fact that is was on late in the evening didn't clue me in.

Just had to take a break for a minute and go take pictures of a chipmuck out on my back fence. I asked if his name was Chip or Dale but he didn't answer. :goodvibes Of course the kids are out back checking it out and I keep telling them to stay away from it in case it's sick. They don't usually hang around while people are out there.

I suppose I better go do some chores.

Have a good day!

Thanks everyone for the anniversary wishes.
We had a nice dinner last night and the kids had a blast at the party. I tried a new drink - a blueberry martini. :lovestruc Never had a martini before. Quite yummy but oh so very potent. Actually got a little dizzy after that one.

I was not shocked by MJs death, just a little surprised at first. His talent will surely be missed. Won't miss the freaky side though. :scared: I loved the Thriller album. First album I bought. Also liked Off the Wall, and Bad. All his music defines my preteen & teen years.
Feel sorry for Farrah's family too. She's at peace now but still hard to lose someone you love. :sad1:
A mother from our school died 2 days ago from her battle w/ cancer and of course my sis losing her baby. Just such a very sad week. I wonder though, what it must be like to get to heaven's waiting room and you happen to see some very famous people who died at the same time you did. What do you think the conversation is like???

For those of you wishing you had a pool, all I have to say is its over-rated!!!!
Ours is a simple 12ft across 3ft deep pool that you take down at the end of the season and it is driving me absolutely nuts trying to get the chemicals right on that thing. And the time I am spending on taking care of it is :headache:.
