I'm here too!!
OMG what a day it's been today!
After a very good sleep in my own bed last night, I got us all up at 8. Mom had said she needed 30 minutes to get ready. She was already awake and had eaten breakfast, and it still took her over 45 minutes to get ready. And that was just the beginning!
On the way to drop off DD at BFF's I had to get gas, and also noticed one of my tires was low on air. Tried filling it, and a nice guy there had to do it for me, and then it ended up that we filled the wrong tire! (my dashboard readout tells me the pressure of all the tires, but doesn't show which tire is which). We dropped off DD and headed to Mom's house. We were already running late, and I asked her to be quick. We had planned to be there less than 15 minutes. well, how about an HOUR and 15 minutes! And then we got a mile up the road and she realized she had left her pills home, so we had to turn around and go back. By the time we got to the hospital (I had wanted to be here by 11), it was past noon.
So we go in to Dad's room, now in CCU for the aspirin protocol, which they hadn't started yet. We go down to get lunch and have a big to do over staying down there to eat (I wanted to go right back up to Dad's room) I think I have reached the limit of my patience with her!
They finally started the aspirin protocol about 3 pm. It went great, no problems, no symptoms. The big boss allergist came in and told him if he misses a day it's ok (not good, but ok), but more than a couple days and he would have to redo the procedure or risk an allergic reaction. Much better than the dire warning from the resident about never missing a day or it could kill him!

Anyway, they will do the stent tomorrow, and they don't expect any problems.
DSis got here just after 7, after a prolonged delay at JFK airport--customs backup, broken baggage claim machinery, traffic jam--it was over 4 hours from landing til she got here! But as soon as I saw her, I swear I felt my stress level drop 75%!!! Daddy was thrilled to see her, and had a big smile on his face. I know how much it means to him to have her here.
We decided to wait to eat dinner until visiting hours ended at 8. BIG MISTAKE! The cafeteria closes at midnight. That does NOT mean they serve real food until then! All they had was hotdogs, some odd looking fish and mashed potatoes, and some premade tune sandwiches. We decided to go to the sandwich shop beneath the hotel, which is open til 9. So we trek on over there and notice that the place is dark. ***?? OK, I saw takeout menus at the reception desk, we can order in. We go to the elevators and...nothing. Turns out there is a power failure at the hotel! And we are on the 17th floor--14 floors up from the lobby where we are standing! The facilities guy who was here was super nice and helpful, and showed us to a conference room that had emergency lights, a table, and chairs. He gave us the number for a pizza place, and i called in an order. About 5 minutes later the lights went on, so we came up to the room and had our pizza here. Not the best pizza I ever ate, but it was ok. Needless to say, we will plan on an earlier dinner tomorrow! Good grief--it's always an adventure!
DS comes home Friday. I will leave here early in the AM, drop DSis off at Mom & Dad's so she can get Dad's car, and then drive up to camp. We will NOT come down here Friday--Mom and DSis will be here. On Saturday, if Dad isn't coming home, I'll bring the kids down to visit. If he comes home, we will meet them at the house instead.
Would you believe, last night in the thunderstorm that was so severe it blew trees down, DD and the ex were at a ball game and the ex refused to leave?!?!?

DD said she wanted to go home, but he was convinced they would restart the game! They finally left nearly an hour later when the storm didn't let up. What an idiot! DD is so glad she doesn't have to stay with him any more nights (she's with BFF tonite and tomorrow, and loving every minute of it) I feel bad that poor DD came home and has barely seen me, since I've been down here with Dad. I know she understands, but it's hard for her. I told her I will make it up to her when Grandpa comes home.
Well, sorry this is so long, guess I'm just rambling, venting, whatever. Thanks for all your prayers and good wishes--they're working!!!
