TKers Take the Fifth!

Ok, its officially over. I got my last tweaked ADR this morning. I managed to move my 50s PT from 7:20 to 4:05. Its a little early for dinner, but since that's the only night we'll be able to see Fantasmic, its better to eat early than to risk it. yeah!

I have a moral dilemma....every time I call about my ADRs, they keep asking me if I'm celebrating something. Truly, BF and I will be celebrating four years together. Is it wrong to say we're celebrating an anniversary? I don't really know what diiference it may make, but the Catholic in me is making me feel a little guilty....

And scary Universal is off the table for now. I haven't gotten him to offiically commit to MNSSHP, but its on my calendar and I'm threatening to go without him.

Go for it. An anniversay doesn't necessarily have to be a marriage one...it's the anniversary of you being a couple.

MK, I would tell them you are celebrating your anniversary. That's what it is and you have every right to celebrate it, married or not.

Thanks so much for the opinions! Just gives me another excuse to call Disney Dining....although I will admit everytime I call, I get a sweet CM who complains about other people making reservations! I feel like a call-in therapist....I'm always affirming that they're doing a great job, to not take the customer who is upset with them too seriously, that they are so kind and patient and to enjoy their day. Its very funny to me.....I can only imagine how huffy some people may get when they don't get their desired ADRs!

Hi All,
Can relate to the bad weather of the East with our cold, cloudy temps here. Supposed to warm up by tomorrow, but we'll see. :sad2: At least we don't have your rain.
I have 2 job interviews for next week - Yay!!!:yay: Hopefully one will pan out. Find it wierd that it took them all this time to get going and call people. Hope this doesn't drag out until vacation.

. The normal price for Captain Morgan Parrot Bay Wave Runner Passion Fruit/Mango drink is $8.49 and I got it for $6.99! :woohoo: I've never had this drink before but I like rum so I figured, Why not!
Mmmm...even the name sounds yummy! I'll have to look for those here.
Good luck to your FIL.

I can't decide what type of drink to take to the picnic on Saturday. Though the drink you bought sounds delish. Might just pick up a case of beer for everyone to share and one or two of those buckets that add the alcohol to and then throw in the freezer to make margaritas. Keep it simple.
Ooohh...a bucket of margaritas. Now you're talking. :thumbsup2

Don't feel guilty. Anniversary is defined as a day that commemorates and/or celebrates a past event that occurred on the same day of the year as the initial event.. You don't have to be married to have an anniversary.

You have my permission to tell the Catholic in you to be quiet.

Hiya campers!

Had 2 wonderful days in NYC with DSis. We had tea at the St. Regis, saw South Pacific, went shopping at Macys, just had FUN! Now its back to real life. Ugh.

LITC, glad the ultrasound went well. Hope DH heals fast!

Pikester, hope things go well for your FIL. I sure understand his dislike of being in the hospital!

Our weather here has been totally schizophrenic! Sunny one minute, pouring the next. i have seen more rainbows in the past week than in the last 20 years! Almost makes the rain worth it.:lmao:

DS is still being an angel. Dare I hope it lasts until he leaves for camp next weekend??

Good evening!

How is everyone this fine evening? It is once again raining here in NH. When does the insanity end?!

FIL is now home and settling in. I should be seeing him on Saturday for a cook out. My MIL says he is doing well but is in pain where they implanted the pacemaker. I'm sure that is to be expected.

Magikitty: I've always had very nice CMs when I've done my ADRs. It's like they can't believe how flexible I'm being with my times and even days that I schedule the ADRs on. I usually try to remember the name they give me when they first say hello so I can say "Thank you so much for all your help Steve" when I'm done. Not sure if they are using thier real names but I can only work with what I'm given. Oh yeah, go for the Anniversary!

whgrn: Glad to hear you had such a great time and that DS is still being an angel for you.

BKMETV: Come on over! I bought a six pack and I'll only be able to handle 3 of them (I remember when.....).

Hello to SCHBR'smom, D&DDisney, mariezp!

Evening!!! Had an ok day here for a change. It was kinda nice out so I sent 3 of the kids outside. That left DD8 inside with me and she was a angel for the afternoon. I think she liked that she got to control the tv remote. :lmao:

whgrn, glad you had a great time with your sis and in NY. I'll keep my fingers crossed about your DS. My DS was pretty good today but in a p***y mood because I reminded him that he is punished for failing all his exams. No video games and limited tv. If they are not outside, he has to stay in his room and read.

magikitty, congrats on getting all your ADRs. And definitely add your anniversary to your ADRs. It's an important day to you and BF and it should be celebrated especially in Disney. Do you have a special ADR planned for the exact day?

D&D, maybe I'll have to look into bringing the "margarita bucket" along to the meet.

marie, have a Six Flags about 2 hours from here. I love the coaster...DH not so much but he'll ride them at least once with me. His back is starting to bother him more and more after these rides. But now that DD is older, he gets more of a chance to skip out of them. Makes everyone happy.

Good evening all.

Kitty, glad to hear a positive recommendation about UT. I think I will go ahead and get my tickets ordered so it will be one less thing to worry about. I wish I knew for sure if DS's friends were going to show up with us but I guess we'll just get additional tickets if we need them. He has some friends who live in Florida but they are making plans to move to Texas. Go figure.

racetrack18kb, we have a Six Flags about an hour from us. The last time we went was 2 years ago. The park is hotter than blue blazes, rundown and dirty and only has a handful of rides we enjoy. After having done Disney it just doesn't compare, especially since we don't do all the thrill rides. Funny that an hour drive seems like too much trouble but we are willing to fly half way across the country just to take in a Disney park.

DD and I went to watch DS's Jiu-Jitsu class tonight. There were several new guys I had never seen before. About 15 minutes into the adult class a young lady came in with a baby. She sat down the carrier and diaper bag and exchanged hellos and goodbyes with her assumed husband and left.... to go tan. The baby was asleep for a few minutes but woke up pretty soon crying. So the fellow stopped in the middle of class and came to tend to the baby. Changed her diaper, put her back in the carrier and proceeded back on with class. She was a pretty good baby and was happy for another 15 minutes or so before she started fussing. Luckily, shortly after the mom showed back up and left with the baby. Is it just me or would anyone else find this situation odd? Seems to me mom could have waited to tan until after dad was through with class or possibly another time. Anyway, the entire time I was wondering if the guy was hoping I would pick the baby up cause he kept looking up at me. Wasn't happening. I did not go to be a baby sitter. I am with my kids 24-7 and have no desire to tend to someone else's kid. I guess it all went well. My son just laughed at me and said these were modern times so anything goes.

Has anyone else found themselves drawn to listen to Michael Jackson's music lately? I have. I, of course, grew up listening to him...who didn't? But it has been quite some time since I really listened to much of his more recent music. I knew he was talented but I had no idea just how many of his newer songs I would really like. He truly had a beautiful voice. So tragic and such a waste.

Good Friday morning everyone! Its looking to be a good day, I'm hoping so. This area gets absolutely insane on the summer weekends ordinarily, so combined with the holiday, I'm hiding out! I do have to venture to the grocery, but I may actually do that after dark (we have a huge Orthodox Jewish population here, lots of camps, and tonight is the Sabbath)

Wendy! Did you have good weather for the city? How was South Pacific? So wonderful to hear you had a good time with DSis. Tell me about tea at the Regis! I do love to visit the city, I just can't spend too much time there!

Marie, I think its good that those parents still have outside interests but they should have made more arrangements for the little one. I would have loved to play with a baby! But I would be afraid that the parents may freak out that I'm touching their kid.

Michael Jackson has been everywhere, event the muzak in the elevators. He has so much great stuff though. My nephew asked if I had any of his albums. ANY? I have them all. I made him listen to Off the Wall. He only knew "Don't stop til you get enough" from the Rush Hour movie! Kids these days!

Mmm....margarita bucket. :thumbsup2

Ok, since D&D gave me permission to ditch my Catholic guilt, I called to add my anniversary to my ressie. I also happened to ask if they had any Le Cellier dinners during my trip---I couldn't help myself. And they had one! So now I am the proud owner of an elusive Le Cellier dinner reservation. Its the last night of the trip, and I'm using that as my celebratory dinner. Its always sad on the last day, but what else spells romance than a dark cellar? :lmao:

Did anyone get the Passporter email? There was an article about visiting Hershey. It thoroughly annoyed me. The author totally did not get the idea of a non-Disney park. Complain, complain, complain. This after saying they WANTED to spend time with their kids. Complain about the lack of workers, the lack of entertainment on the lines, complain! I sent a complaint email in return. I think the author should have had a more open mind.

Ok, sounds like everyone has some great plans for the holiday weekend. Above all, enjoy and be safe!

Hi everybody!

whgrn Glad you had a fun trip.

MagiKitty We always hide out over holidays too. Not because of too many people but too many drunks. We are going to El Paso today to watch a baseball game and fireworks after. We are mainly going for the fireworks. It also gives us a chance to eat somewhere different. :)

Everyone have a Happy 4th of July (well the US TKers anyway)

Good Afternoon TKers!

Guess what?

I don't want to say it too loud but........

the sun is shining!!!!!!!!

OK, OK. We still have some clouds that are drifting through and there is a chance that we could get a shower or thunderstorm later this evening but........

Magikitty, I got that same email and just got done reading the article. You are not the only who is going to write an email response. It sounded as though they could not find one thing that is good about the park. They need to get it through their heads that Hershey Park is NOT WDW. You cannot really compare the 2 at all. They went on a holiday weekend. Did they not think it would be crowded? Holiday weekend means crowds. They complained because there was nothing to occupy them while in line. Wasn't the whole point of their trip to spend time conversing with their children? Well, isn't that what the line is for? Do you really need to be entertained in every single second of the day?

I've been to Hershey when it's crowded and when it was very slow. I have never seen only 1 or 2 workers at the rides unless it is one of those very small kiddie ride that all amusement parks have. All of the major rides have scores of workers and the lines always move fine. If you get there early and ride the major rides when the park opens, you will have short waits. If you ride them later in the day, of course the wait will be horrible. Hmmm, just like WDW.

With the way they think, maybe I should stop liking WDW since it isn't Hershey? WDW doesn't have huge, fast coaster that turn you upside down 8 times. WDW doesn't offer free concerts with your park admission. Heck, WDW doesn't permanently smell like chocolate. Why can't people just enjoy things for what they are?

OK, down off my soapbox.

Racetrack, I don't even know why they included that article in the email. Its exactly the kind of attitude that make people think that Disney people are INSANE. I totally agree about the lines. You wait on line...its an amusement park! And, goodness gracious, imagine having to entertain yourselves! I think it was completely unfair and biased.

Oh yeah, its a holiday weekend. The roads are crazy out there!

Hey Pikester....ssshhh....I won't tell anyone. But just enjoy the S-U-N whil you can!

Well, we went and did our camping shopping tonight. Not a lot to buy but we did pick up 6 folding chairs, a battery operated light, and bug repellent. I really can't think of much else that we are going to have to bring.

No driving for us tomorrow. My dad only lives a block from us and our local fireworks are only 3 blocks from there. We can actually just watch them from the end of our street if we wanted to.

I hope everyone has a great holiday!!!

Quick response:

Yes, you are a couple. Celebrate Anniversary.

Yay for the sunshine.

Margaritta buckets are great. Got one for DD's Birthday. (It's on Cenco Demayo)Used Ginger Ale instead of tequilla. Yummy.

Happy 4th of July everyone.

No, you are not seeing things. My ticker is gone.:sad1: Going to try and postpone it. We'll see. Met with the kids tonight. DD was almost in tears. She was trying very hard to understand but she is still young. I find it hard to be on the DIS site to be honest because I am heartbroken things are not working out for us right now in the financial / vacation department. Trying to focus on the positive because I have so much to be blessed for. Still, it hurts.

College is going great. A friend I use to go to church with is in all of my classes. We didn't know until two days before classes started that we were both going back to college.

One of my professors knows my dad and offered my dad a job teaching at the college. Dad turned it down because he is enjoying retirement, but it made me proud to be his daughter.

Enjoy your holiday weekend and to my Canadian friends here.....go ahead and celebrate with us. Always a good time to party.

Happy Fourth of July everyone and good morning! Its supposed to actually be a nice weather weekend here, so let's hope. Since we don't have fireworks here, I'm planning to watch the Macy's celebration on the telly. if I don't do laundry soon, that too will swallow me up....

SHMU! Hello darling! How are you and the family? Glad to hear that you already have a friend in college, how are classes going? Sorry to hear that you removed your ticker....I know it must be disappointing not having definite plans. to DD especially. But I will say that if there's going to be a really good rate/deal on a vacation in the future, this'll be the place to find it! As always, you and the family are in my prayers....and so glad to see you!

:flower3: Good morning all. I see that inspite of the weather, everyone has been real busy. From illness to vacations and everything in between, I pray that all will go well.

The same with DH and myself. It seems all we do is work, eat and sleep. However DH and I had our annual reviews at work and we both did well. PTL.

:woohoo: We just received our "Documents" for our :sail: "anniversary cruise". I can't believe its not that far away.

:drive: I was wondering if I can hitch a ride on the next vacation with the flat TKR'S. I finally got a picture to send, let me know who to send it to. The only way I can send it, would be the "old fashion" way. :headache: computers and I don't get along that well.

Have a safe and happy 4th. :goodvibes

chat later

Happy Fourth Ladies!!!
