Ladies, it was awesome to actually chat for a bit, however, baby Walter is out for now, so I think I am going to try and get some sleep as well. Talk to you soon!

I don't remember who came up with using LITC but it's easier. That's why I use JO. Someone called her POCAmom once! And somebody called Bopsmom Bobsmom. It can get very complicated! When Lighttech was expecting her 2nd she couldn't put ds and the age sp someone came up with BL for baby Lighttech. I guess it stuck!

Night...it is late. Thanks for keeping me company ladies...sure beats talking to myself!

M&N, I live in Eastern PA. Near the border to NJ. That must have been so cool to meet some of the people from here. Maybe if you all ever do it again, I can work something out.

LITC, that is so much easier. :goodvibes I could never say anything bad about anyone on here. I read a lot of the other boards on here and sometimes the other posters aren't so nice. Not like all of you.

Everyone was welcome...unfortunately some are farther away. We were discussing meeting in the spring somewhere. Lighttech lives west of me too. And Whgrn is in NJ. You are practically neighbors!
Must get to bed....Night.

Checking in real quick to boost my spirits. (Nothing major... no worries.) I got on the scale this morning for the first time in weeks, and somehow I've managed to gain 12lbs in like 6 weeks! :scared1: I'm not totally freaking, but I haven't been this heavy since college (except going into and out of my pregnancies.) I think that's more what peeving me off. I just lost all this weight... how the heck did it come back so fast? Ok, now that I've got that off my chest, and in print, i'll have to admit it to myself and get on gettin' it off! I know a bunch of you ladies should be quite an inspiration in that department! I'm so impressed w/ all of you who are getting so healthy!

Ok this is just wayyyyyy to weird.

My DEx has just sent me a friend request on Facebook!!!!!

What on earth is the protocol for such a thing? I do NOT want him to have access to all my friends, my blog, my photos, my comments, etc. I don't want him in my life any more than necessary!

So what do I tell him when he asks why I didn't accept it???
OK. That's bizarre. I'd just give you a flip comment, but I'm sure this is awkward. How about just telling him that you use Facebook for friends only and try to separate family/work/friends, etc. so you can go ahead and be silly or vent or whatever you need w/o worrying about it? Or, you can just never answer the request like I've done... :confused3

D&DDisney Hang in there.
Bopsmom What a great idea. I was going to suggest not showing any pictures until you know if you can get a patent. Now if only someone could come up with something more entertaining for ellipticals. :scratchin
whgrn Just noticed you have a dog named Duke. We had a dog named Duke also. When my dad asked if we wanted a dog (he was already named Duke) we thought of his aunt's dog (Duke) which was a chihuahua. Boy were we surprised to find out it was a boxer.:rotfl:
QUOTE]

I read on the elliptical. Never could really do it on the treadmill, so I hate the treadmill. But if I lose myself in a book, I can be on there for hours!

DS wanted a dog desperately. He wanted a rotweiler (NEVER gonna happen!) and was going to name him Duke. So when I finally decided it was time for a doggie, I went and fetched our little furball from Macon, GA, brought hiim home, and said "this is Duke". He's been trying ever since to live up to his name!:lmao:

OK need to ask my TKers for some advice. My cousin's twins will be a year old next month and they are having a party. What on earth does one get for a one year old????? They are boy/girl twins. I can do something on my own, or team up with Mom on a gift. Any suggestions???

Clothes are always good. Seems boring, I know, but they grow so fast, it seems like you always need something. They're probably starting to toddle around, or will be soon... what about shoes? There's a company called Robeez that makes the sweetest little booties. They're all leather and machine washable (a blessing!) and because they are so flexible, they are supposed to be very good for tiny feet just learning to walk b/c they allow the feet to curl and bend naturally. They are pricier than I would normally spend for baby shoes, but maybe for a birthday present its o.k.? (about $25-$30). I have 2 pairs for BL that I got at a remarkable discount one time and I just love them. And, so does he... he hated wearing shoes and socks for the longest time, but didn't seem to mind these at all.

Gotta run all! (maybe I should literally... start burning those stinkin' calories!)

Good morning ladies! Looks like I've missed a lot the last day or two...but so glad to see everyone checking in and keeping up!

Hey, put me number one on that list of treadmill desks! My treadmill is an older one, and I can't even get one of those magazine racks on there. Its mostly watching tv for me, which is fine, but I'd like the option of catching up on my reading too....

LITC, thanks for the updates on the little man! I can't beleive he's two weeks old already!

M&N...I vow to come see Amish country. It just seems so gorgeous. The leaves are turning here too...absolutely beautiful, but that means having to rake leaves. Ugh.

JOCA...glad to see you're coming around more and keeping M&N company! :thumbsup2

Wendy, being "friended" on FB by an ex is really weird. Just pretend you haven't checked it in a while until you find the appropriate way to explaining "thanks, but no thanks..."

Remember my dilemma with friending my college BF? Well, I did and we exchanged two messages then POOF! Never heard from her again...well, I learned my lesson! Don't feel guilted into "friending" unnecessarily.

Well, I tried to pack last night. Its a huge endeavour. It started with putting some stuff out for the luggage, then I decided while I was in there, to put more of the summer stuff away, which turned into, well, I'm going to need it for the Phils, and let's get the sweaters out! Ended up with a big huge mess with nothing accomplished at all....ugh.

lighttech...is there any way you gained weight via hair? I swear my hair has got to weigh at least ten pounds....otherwise, the Earth's magnetic field is off and its polarity is unfairly centered on your scale. You really didn't gain weight, the cosmos is against you...

I've never visited Amish country. Driven through but never stopped. Is it interesting to see?

It's awesome, and very interesting. I love it out there. Definitely a must see.

They collect paper for recycling here now too. They gave us these wonderful bins with snap tight lids. Now if they wouldn't just throw the bins wherever, I would be happy.

I wish they would provide us with bins here--we just use regular garbage pails.

Don't you just hate when those pounds sneak up on you?? Most of it is probably water weight. Drink plenty of water, watch the salt, and do some healthy eating and exercise, and before you know it it will be gone! (yeah, I know, sounds so easy, right?!)

Thanks for the idea about the Robeez. They sound cute! I will see if I can find them.

Thanks! I'm hoping some of it is waterweight, but I'm not in denial here... I've been eating like cr*p the last few weeks. The kids have been sick, I've been tired, and I've just been lazy and not packing my lunches and stuff like I usually do...

Anyway, here's the robeez site... looked it up real quick.

HA! :laughing:I do blame weight on my hair sometimes, but since I've cut it short, I can't do that as much.

I'm gonna go w/ the polarity thing... :upsidedow

Hi everyone!
Lighttech Those pounds are sneaky. After my two week vacation I gained back all I lost the past two years. Okay so I didn't lose all that much to begin with but I had lost and kept off a few pounds.
I think I'll try reading a book on my elliptical. Hopefully I won't fall off.

Continuing with my TR...

The sun came out for College Fjords so we enjoyed this day a bit more.
The next day we disembarked around 7:15 am and started our land tour part. We crossed back over Prince William Sound to Valdez.

After lunch we went by coach to Copper River. We stopped at an alpine glacier on the way. We walked closer to the glacier..

Thanks for the link lighttech! They sure are cute. Now I just have to find out what size shoes the kids wear...

That's one of the nice things about the Robeez is that they are in 6mos increments. Instead of needing to know that they wear a "size 5" you just pick 6-12mos or 12-18mos, etc. If you know if the kids are big or small for their age, you should be o.k. BL is a little big for his age, but has chubby little feet (needs a Wide in regular shoes) and we can just squeeze him into the 12-18mos (he's 13mos old) if that helps.

Well, I don't know about their feet, but at 8 months old they were both over 20 pounds!:scared1:

I love those little shoes. I emailed my cousin aboput them for her little girl. I love the pink mj's.

I personally thing the reason for the weight gain is global warming...all that sweat just clings to us. The heat makes us crave more ice cream so of course we must add the hot fudge, marshmallow fluff and peanuts to it. We also need more fluids so who wants a root beer float? And of course the float requires Hammonds pretzels to go with it...:dance3: I think I had better stop before I gain weight just thinking about it...I just added Oreo crunchies to the sundae...

How cold was it at the glacier DL55?

We just hace a tree here and there turning now...I'm sure it's prettier up in NY and especially up where Pikester lives.

It was way too hot and humid today...sure Racer is loving it.

Hello. My husband was home from work today and we got a lot of cleaning done. Or actually he did while I went through the piles of paper we seem to have accumulated over the years. I found all my oldest daughter's report cards from Kindergarten. I really have to get organized so I don't misplace everything again.

We have a DCL cruise booked for next year but has any one here sailed on Carnival. I came across a wonderful deal yesterday for Carnival and am trying to see how it compares to DCL.

lighttech, I've heard such rave reviews over the Robeez (sp). None of my kids every wore any kind of shoes. They hated them and would constantly fight to get them off.

DL55, I am loving your pictures. I'd love to do an Alaskan cruise but I think that will have to wait until all the kids are grown.

Hello everyone, sorry I can't stick around tonight, but wanted to update you all. Baby Walter had his second doctor visit today, he has grown 1 1/4 inches!!!! That's my boy! However they were concerned about his weight. He is still not back to his birth weight, but since he was 4 weeks premature, the doctor said he will give him two more weeks. If he is not back up then we will have to see a specialist to see of if is becoming malnourished due to some kind of problem with absorbing nutrients.
I'm really not worried though, something in my gut is telling me everything will be fine.

LITC, I saw an article today that would make any mother glad to not be this poor woman. In Indonesia there was a lady who had a 19.2 pound baby!
smileyOMG-1.gif
That causes me pain just thinking about it!
I am glad you are not worrying too much about the doctor's visit. Are they worried about him not eating well? Sometimes it just takes awhile for them to get the hang of it. Better yet, maybe he has just been concentrating more on getting longer than gaining weight.

whgrn, I would so not invite any ex to be a friend on FB! Who would want them nosing around in your business? :sad2:

lighttech, I would gladly trade you my weight gain since college for your little old 12 pounds!

Kitty, it's almost time for you to go! Single digits baby! Before you know it it will only be hours.

More beautiful pictures, DL55. Thanks for sharing them.

It's been quiet around here. The weather has been so cool. Fall is in the air which means my vacation is right around the corner!

Good morning ladies!

Kitty's kitty update....my escaped ungrateful cat was on my neighbour's roof yesterday. By evening, she had moved down to their deck. This morning? Cannot find her. She must be getting hungry. I'm fairly sure she'll be back sometime tonight. If not, I don't know what to do, because...

I'M LEAVING TOMORROW! :cool1:

I know I sound like an irresponsible parent, but darn if that cat wasn't meowing at me yesterday yet not making the effort to meet me halfway. Just meowing, come get me, oh yeah, let me roll over and look cute for a while. Grr...doesn't she know I have things to do?

Again, horribly over-packed. But my luggage is not full. Too much stuff to downgrade a luggage size, so I'll just look at it like room to shop! Of course, I'll be hitting the outlets to get some holiday shopping done (:lmao:).

DL55...those pictures are absolutely breathtaking. How did you remember the names of everything? Do they make announcements like on planes "on the left, you'll see a glacier"...

LITC...good to hear that Walter is growing! He's just getting used to the world, he'll gain more weight with time. Three weeks old already! Argh! Big kisses from me, please....

JOCA, so glad to hear hubby is home. Its so hard to clean, sort, divide and conquer! And with four children, there are so many memories to save!

I packed my stretchy shorts for the end of the trip. Between F&W, free dining, and Emerils, I'm sure I'll be packing a little more junk in my trunk by the end of vacation....M&N...your sundae sounds yummy! There's something they're talking about at F&W...a chocolate Bailey's lava cake! Yum!
