Hey JOCAmom-that is absolutely fine, you can call me whatever you want. (Well, within reason of course!!
)

OK. That's bizarre. I'd just give you a flip comment, but I'm sure this is awkward. How about just telling him that you use Facebook for friends only and try to separate family/work/friends, etc. so you can go ahead and be silly or vent or whatever you need w/o worrying about it? Or, you can just never answer the request like I've done...Ok this is just wayyyyyy to weird.
My DEx has just sent me a friend request on Facebook!!!!!
What on earth is the protocol for such a thing? I do NOT want him to have access to all my friends, my blog, my photos, my comments, etc. I don't want him in my life any more than necessary!
So what do I tell him when he asks why I didn't accept it???
D&DDisney Hang in there.
Bopsmom What a great idea. I was going to suggest not showing any pictures until you know if you can get a patent. Now if only someone could come up with something more entertaining for ellipticals.
whgrn Just noticed you have a dog named Duke. We had a dog named Duke also. When my dad asked if we wanted a dog (he was already named Duke) we thought of his aunt's dog (Duke) which was a chihuahua. Boy were we surprised to find out it was a boxer.

I read on the elliptical. Never could really do it on the treadmill, so I hate the treadmill. But if I lose myself in a book, I can be on there for hours!
DS wanted a dog desperately. He wanted a rotweiler (NEVER gonna happen!) and was going to name him Duke. So when I finally decided it was time for a doggie, I went and fetched our little furball from Macon, GA, brought hiim home, and said "this is Duke". He's been trying ever since to live up to his name!
OK need to ask my TKers for some advice. My cousin's twins will be a year old next month and they are having a party. What on earth does one get for a one year old????? They are boy/girl twins. I can do something on my own, or team up with Mom on a gift. Any suggestions???
Clothes are always good. Seems boring, I know, but they grow so fast, it seems like you always need something. They're probably starting to toddle around, or will be soon... what about shoes? There's a company called Robeez that makes the sweetest little booties. They're all leather and machine washable (a blessing!) and because they are so flexible, they are supposed to be very good for tiny feet just learning to walk b/c they allow the feet to curl and bend naturally. They are pricier than I would normally spend for baby shoes, but maybe for a birthday present its o.k.? (about $25-$30). I have 2 pairs for BL that I got at a remarkable discount one time and I just love them. And, so does he... he hated wearing shoes and socks for the longest time, but didn't seem to mind these at all.
Gotta run all! (maybe I should literally... start burning those stinkin' calories!)
I've never visited Amish country. Driven through but never stopped. Is it interesting to see?
They collect paper for recycling here now too. They gave us these wonderful bins with snap tight lids. Now if they wouldn't just throw the bins wherever, I would be happy.
Checking in real quick to boost my spirits. (Nothing major... no worries.) I got on the scale this morning for the first time in weeks, and somehow I've managed to gain 12lbs in like 6 weeks!I'm not totally freaking, but I haven't been this heavy since college (except going into and out of my pregnancies.) I think that's more what peeving me off. I just lost all this weight... how the heck did it come back so fast? Ok, now that I've got that off my chest, and in print, i'll have to admit it to myself and get on gettin' it off! I know a bunch of you ladies should be quite an inspiration in that department! I'm so impressed w/ all of you who are getting so healthy!

It's awesome, and very interesting. I love it out there. Definitely a must see.
Don't you just hate when those pounds sneak up on you?? Most of it is probably water weight. Drink plenty of water, watch the salt, and do some healthy eating and exercise, and before you know it it will be gone! (yeah, I know, sounds so easy, right?!)
Thanks for the idea about the Robeez. They sound cute! I will see if I can find them.
lighttech...is there any way you gained weight via hair? I swear my hair has got to weigh at least ten pounds....otherwise, the Earth's magnetic field is off and its polarity is unfairly centered on your scale. You really didn't gain weight, the cosmos is against you...
Thanks for the link lighttech! They sure are cute. Now I just have to find out what size shoes the kids wear...
That's one of the nice things about the Robeez is that they are in 6mos increments. Instead of needing to know that they wear a "size 5" you just pick 6-12mos or 12-18mos, etc. If you know if the kids are big or small for their age, you should be o.k. BL is a little big for his age, but has chubby little feet (needs a Wide in regular shoes) and we can just squeeze him into the 12-18mos (he's 13mos old) if that helps.
