OMG!!! I LOVE the butter sculpture! That's awesome!

Well, that's ummm, interesting. :rotfl: I'll have to show it to DD13 tomorrow. She always thinks it's so odd to see the tiny butter sculptures in the stores on holidays. I can just imagine her reaction to this.

JOCA...your fair sounds awesome! I wanna go there!

Wendy, how do they have 11 periods in one day? How long are they at school? We had eight periods in my day and that was way tiring...an additional three more?! Holy smokes!

When I figure it out, I'll let y'all know. They must be short periods--the school day goes from 8:30 to 3.

There's a big butter sculpture at the Farm Show. It's the biggest farm show under 1 roof. http://www.farmshow.state.pa.us/EventPhotos2010.aspx?AID=364 for pic of it...carved from 1,000 lbs of butter!

OMG! Well, I know personally, I ALWAYS invite my cow to the breakfast table with the family...

I just have to say, that's a waste of 1000 pounds of perfectly good butter that could have fed some hungry people. Unless they are using discarded or expired butter, which would be ok...

M&N, I have no idea why the image came up blurry for you and not for some of the rest of us. Weird! Pikester, glad you and your son liked them. They have a LOL thread on the Dis that has tons of them.

The big thing around here will be the Fort Worth Stockyards Fat Stock Show & Rodeo. My stepD rides in the opening day parade every year. Guaranteed to be a cold and nasty day! They have tons of exhibits and lots of midway rides and of course, a nightly ro. It lasts several weeks. Haven't been in years. Last time we went it was miserably cold.

Wendy, when I was little my mommy worked as a lunch lady. It was quite comforting to know she was nearby in elementary school. Not sure what I would have thought if I had been older. Boy they do try to keep cramming more into one day. 11 classes! Where will it all end????

JOCAmom, ah man! they did away with the mud wrestling!? Darn! Just when I was thinking about heading to PA! ;)

Pikester, I remember panicking when I thought I forgot my locker combo too! Thankfully, it always came back to me. If I had to remember it now I would just be out of luck!

I'm pretty sure they donate the butter somewhere.

Where's the sun? It is supposed to get all the way to 40 tomorrow! Mom gets her hair done and I'm picking up one of her friends and we're going to Bird-In-Hand for her bday---79! She picked it. I guess we'll find some other place to run to also.

The closet is winning right now but I have gotten some things out of it. I need to try on a few things too. I keep saying---if Kitty did it...:rotfl:

When I first read that I thought it said Vests not Vets. I couldn't figure out why DL55 was putting vests on her cat.
I have thought about putting her in a coat sleeve. :rolleyes1
Bite looks like it's going to be fine. Just got her thyroid pills..2X a day.:faint: Sometimes I wonder if it's worth it, she sure doesn't appreciate it.
Our local fair is dull. It costs a whole dollar. We walk around the animals, avoid the carnival and eat something. Takes us a whole hour to do.
I can't remember high school. I believe we had 7 periods, no switching around.

DL55...you made me laugh out loud with "I don't remember high school". Hope kitty feels better and that you survive the pill-giving! So far, I haven't had to give pills to mine and I'm glad for that.

You keep on that closet M&N! Happy 79th Mom!

Mm...butter...

I'm pretty sure they donate the butter somewhere.

Thanks, I feel better now!:thumbsup2

Took Duke for his ERG today, and as we suspected, it is flat--no retinal function. So the SARDS diagnosis is confirmed. He's been sleeping off the sedation ever since we left--I even had to carry him out to the car becuase he was too sleepy to walk.:lmao: Brought him home, took him out to go potty, and when I put him down on the ground, he just lay down! He finally did get up and do his business, but then came in the house and lay on his bed to sleep. Poor doggie. :(

Thanks M&N! I figured since I"m fairly committed to my hotel reservation it was time to make it somewhat official with a cute ticker!

Wendy, sorry to hear about poor Duke. But he knows he's loved and its just about adjustment. Give him extra hugs from me!

Ok, so I found this gorgeous pair of dark rinse jeans in my closet and I was so excited to put them on! And then I realized WHY I lost them in the first place---side zipper! Who the heck designed that cruelty? Looks great on, IF I can get them on. You have to be concave to reach over there and zip. Luckily there's enough stretch that with a little wiggling, I can get them on without using that horrible side zip. Now I just have to make sure that I won't have to use the washroom whenever I have them on!

Evening!!

whgrn, sending lots of love to your doggie. Poor little guy.

M&N, took me an hour last night to find a ticker that I liked. I really wanted one with lots of chocolate candy in it but the only one I could find just had the Valentine's Day candy. :headache:

Marie, it was a grand ol' time at our fair. Not only did they have mud "rastlin" but they even had jello and mashed potatoes. Woohooo!!!! :lmao::lmao:

I can now fit into my pants with a front zipper---and I thought that was bad enough! A side one...no way would I remember it was there in time! :rotfl:

My closet looks good but the piles elsewhere! That's another day! Some of the stuff has to go in my spare bedroom's closet or under the bed.

Hope Duke is adjusting.

That settles it...JOCA has the coolest fair EVER.

M&N...I'm still battling the piles. But the closet is gorgeous. I started weeding through my toiletries and makeup tonight. SHould take me another week to finish.

Mashed potato injury! While washing the dishes, I cut my thumb on some dried mash. Ugh. But I gave Mr. Cheekun a lovely butter massage and herb wrap and he was lovely. I think I'm in love...

:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

Ummm, how do you CUT yourself on dried mashed potatoes?????:confused3

It was dry and sharp! I was washing, so my skin was pretty pruny. But nevertheless, I bled from mash!

 Morning

:bday: :bday: :bday: :bday: :bday:

Later.

Good morning!

I am so happy that it is 21 degrees out! Who would have ever thought. :goodvibes

I like your tickers ladies! I searched for a candy one too JO but I could only find Valentine ones.

DL55, I am with you. I don't remember exactly how many periods we had. Too darn long ago! I do remember that my last 2 years were basically a joke. I took the easiest classes I could just to waste the hours I needed to get the credits I needed to graduate. I had one class of Cosmetology that took up 3 periods, then I had homemaking and one other required class. After that I got out of school early.

Got news yesterday that my grandfather's sister passed away yesterday. Guess that made her my great aunt, right? She was 96. Last time I saw her she still looked great. I hope I get the longevity from that side of the family.

DS made a further step in his Jiu-Jitsu last night. Another stripe added to his belt. He is now a 3 stripe blue belt. One more stripe and the next step will be his purple belt. His coach and his 2 instructors said he should reach that goal by the end of the year. They are going to help see to it! I am so proud of him. He has worked so hard. An added bonus is that he is really good at it too. Plus he soaks up every new thing he learns like a sponge.

whgrn, poor Duke. What a rough day.

Kitty, I don't think I have ever seen a pair of jeans with a side zipper. Goes to show you just how far out of touch I am with being in style.

JOCAmom, that does sound like they like to have a really big time at the old fair! Keep Kitty away from the taters! :lmao:

Pikester, you know it has been really cold when you can settle on being happy at 21 degrees. We have warmed up but now DH says it is fixin to start up raining in the next few days. Always something! :rolleyes2

Howdy to everyone else! Better haul my bum outta this chair and get started on something productive.

Good afternoon ladies!

Marie, congrats to your DS on his great accomplishments! I took some sort of martial arts in college for gym credit and that was super hard....so your DS must be amazingly talented and disciplined.

Pikester...I know what you mean. We may actually approach 40 this weekend and I am stupidly excited about it. It has been sunny recently and even with the frigid temps, it always makes it seem a little easier to bear...

Wow, I am so silly sometimes. I like to rip out recipes from magazines, in hopes of being inspired to cook someday. So I end up with all these little papers all over the place. And then last night...eureka! I can scan the magazine pages, print and then paste them into a recipe book. Everyone will be uniform and so much easier to organize....I have lots of cardstock paper from my many attempts (and failures) at scrapbooking.

I just read about Just Dance for the Wii..thing is, I have that game and haven't used it. Everyone on that thread says its lots of fun so I'll probably check it out this weekend (not tonight since its Grey's Anatomy).

:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

Ummm, how do you CUT yourself on dried mashed potatoes?????:confused3

I was going to ask the same question. :rotfl2: Hope your finger is better MagiKitty:flower3:

mariezp I did the opposite in HS.. Ended up taking two math classes..trig and calculus (aced both).
