Hi guys...long, long time no hear from me....can anyone tell me how to find Michelle? or our Canadian pal?

Good morning all. I had a couple of minutes before heading to work. I see that all of you are very busy. I have been doing some projects that I have should have done months ago. Keep on posting so I can keep on reading.

Good morning ladies! The snow has finally stopped. Although they prediced anywhere up to 2 inches, we got more than twice that!

Hi Sukie! How have you been? Its a good time to do projects, since we're cooped up inside. Don't get too crazy about them and come to visit us once in a while...

Mkgaapril! Howdy stranger! Michele is still on here, and Ev is our resident Canadian, although we did have another Canadian girl on here for a few days a few threads back. Both Michele and Ev and frequent fliers here, so just keep checking in....

I dreamed of Boma last night. That boboti (the corn pudding) was absolutely decadent.

Don't you have Michele's other site? Also most of us are on FB. They even got me there. Of course Michele has to walk me through everything. :rotfl: Hope you are doing great! We are mostly complaining about the weather and discussing eating at DW.

Hey there Sukie. I made a new rule that you need to post a smilie at least if you peek here but don't have anything to say. At least I don't worry about you when you don't appear for a while because we have a spy on you! :rotfl: I was still sleeping when you were on. I have done 30 min of Wii and shoveled and gotten ready for my lunch outing. Take care...

I went to other site...can't find it. I thought maybe she got rid of it. and fb works...but I can't remember last names..lolol

I feel your pain! I'm lucky if I do first names! I'm sure she'll get back to you.

How have you been MN? I decided to slow down this time around and took fewer classes. I was getting burn out soooo bad.

Well, well, well, look who decided to show up here. Missed ya, girl. Sent you a pm.

Kids had a 2 hour delay this morning. Roads are always bad around here so they played it smart today. Of course, the school called at 6 am to let us know. Interrupted my sleep.

Morning Sukie, MK, and M&N

Let me tell you it has been a very long fall, and slow winter but spring is looking good if you get me drift. I lost my crapberry and it had my contacts...no I did not back up and pc crashed . anyway, I tried to find old site, etc....but by that time i had forgotten everyones names on here.

Two hour delay here too, but I don't have kids so all that means for me really is that I don't have to hear the buses so early in the morning...

I had some issues with my hard drive, and now that I have a netbook, I cannot tell you how much I am enjoying an external hard drive. Its so easy to move things from one to the other, and since I freed up the space on my laptop, its running so much better. I've put all my essentials on the HD so if (God forbid) I have a crash, I should be ok.

I'm on Verizon and they have an online option to back up your contacts. But I actually keep a hard copy just in case I lose my phone or my address book. While I love technology, it doesn't love me, so I have to outsmart it!

D&DDisney I didn't mean to hurt your feelings. :flower3: Apparently I had jumped the gun with our vacation plans. DH claimed he was just looking for ideas when I told everyone that we were going. So I hesitate to change anything. He's not all that excited about meeting people. This will be pushing his comfort level as it is.

whgrn

Mkgaapril Long time no see. :)

Just rain here, snow only above 7500 ft. Dog has already tracked mud all over. One of the cats has decided not to poop in the litter box. :headache: I'm assuming it's the older cat. DH is wandering around. It's going to be a looong day.

Sun is out...snow is melting...computer is sloooooowwwww...
I had a good lunch at Houlihans/ They had a soup/salad deal. Very good.

DL55---maybe the pets are mad with all the attention given to that groundhog yesterday. ;)

Mkgaapril--I'm sure you're remembering us now. May have a few new ones around. Glad you slowed down on the classes. You need some time for yourself too. I have substituted more this year. Most of them have been scheduled ahead so I don't get a call at 6am. I'm not like Sukie---not a morning person. We still have some night owls here.

Kitty--my lunch friend asked me what I had heard about the Kindle...pros/cons. Do you have the newest? She reads mysteries mostly. Think it's a good deal? Does Amazon have the best buys for books or are more going for the one from Barnes&Noble?

M&N...I don't have a Kindle. What I did do is download the Barnes and Noble ebook reader program to my netbook (but you can download to any computer, iPhone, or Blackberry) and you can get books from there. There are a few selections that are free, and lots (including new releases) can be purchased online at B&N.

I have the smaller sized netbook, 10.1 inches, and I have 12 downloaded books on there, so I'm calling it the Kitty Kindle...I prefer it since that's one less additional toy to carry around with me...I can download any of the books available on the B&N site.

I'm not sure which sites have the better availability in terms of books.

Harlequin has several books available for free that you can use Adobe reader to read. I have Adobe on my netbook too, so there's another set of books I can put on the netbook.

I'm not sure about which books are with which device. I know Sony has a reader out too. I think Wendy has a Kindle.

If you shop carefully, the Kindle and some netbooks are around the same price. I got my netbook for $160 off Amazon.

Btw... I got my sleeve for the netbook. Its neoprene, so it can stretch over my netbook's butt battery. And its pink! And its Hello Kitty! I love ebay!

Thanks Kitty. I'll pass that info along. She wasn't sure if it was worth buying one. I'm not sure what kind of a laptop she has either. I think she was concerned about hard they were to read too. She wished she could see one first. Glad the sleve worked out.

Tell your friend to go to the Harlequin site and use Adobe to read the books on the computer. It'll give her a similar feel to reading on the screen (although Adobe lets you enlarge the font which may help too). Both Adobe and the Harlequin books are free so its kinda like a trial run....

Yes, you should take some time to rest.

If you remember, pm one of us your email address. Last year, we ended doing chain emails to keep everyone updated. I'm pretty sure I have yours but just to play it safe.

Night LITC. Give Walter a hug and kiss from me when he wakes.

Consider Walter kissed!!

M&N...what are the festival dates this year? My AP expires at the end of April....now I just need to find cheap airfare and lodging! Seriously, I would love to squeeze some more out of my AP, but BF can't possibly go until the fall at the earliest and no one else will go with me!

You guys are so bad! I just peeked at some airfares...not too great, but it doesn't hurt to dream, right?

I can imagine walking around EPCOT already!

Woa Woa, if you imagining walking around EPCOT that means you should take me, after all that is where we met!

We did go for the Garden Fest years ago. It was BEAUTIFUL!!!!! The had a design of a butterfly w/ flowers on the hill at EPCOT and I told DH that's what we should do with our front lawn at home. He wasn't really keen on that idea. :confused3

I wonder why??? LOL

I guess it's better then your cat wandering around and your DH not pooping where he is suppose to.

Unfortunately, we'll be going through Wisconsin after the meet. I'm afraid to ask DH to re-do his plans. :scared:
Apparently, 3 days before your 55th birthday your mind turns to mush. I did NOT see an aardvark. I saw an armadillo. :rotfl:

In case I don't get back on Happy BIrthday!!

a little early DL55!!!
(Even if you won't pick me up:sad1:)

This is going to take some thought.

While I love y'all like family (and this being a reunion and all) I do so love Disney:love: and eating.

Hey don't worry about it, think of it this way, Disney brought us all together and none of us are going anywhere, so enjoy Disney and we'll see you at the next TKer meet.

Hi guys, sorry I've been MIA, but I've just been overwhelmed with family stuff, between DS and my Dad.

DS's behavior has gone from bad to worse. We are looking into a new psychiatrist. Fortunately they finally have a therapy group for him that starts next week. I'm praying that helps.

My dad had to have another surgery to replace the dialysis catheter that was not in the right place. It had floated up under his gall bladder! When they took it out, it was all clogged with fat globules (which means he has free-floating abdominal fat, unlike most people). Unfortunately, it is likely to happen again, which would make him unsuitable for peritoneal dialysis and mean he'd have to do hemodialysis instead. Not what we want to hear. But fortunately the surgery went well and he's not having any complications this time.

Duke has adapted well, but has started pooping all over the house. so now he has to stay in the laundry room when we leave, which he doesn't like.

I'm not sleeping well, but I'm making eating right and exercising a priority as much as I can. And yet I managed to gain 3 pounds this week somehow. Whatever--that's the least of my worries.

Praying we don't get much snow tonite so there is not a snow day tomorrow. That would totally screw up our plans for Hershey!

Miss you guys. i'm seeing your posts over on FB, just not responding much, sorry.

:hug::hug::hug:

Wendy sorry for what you are going through, I hope it gets much better soon.

How have you guys all been...

April, so so happy to see you. I almost called you once or twice, I was worried when you hadn;t been around so long. Everyone is mainly good. Did you know I had a baby? Little boy named Walter, born 9-4-2009 10:49pm 8lbs 1 oz, 20 inches long. I'll try and post more pics of him soon. He will be 5 months old tomorrow!!

M&N at the Borders book store near my house they have a Kindle on display, I think you can "play" with it a bit.

I guess it's better then your cat wandering around and your DH not pooping where he is suppose to.

LOL LOL LOL LOL!!
