Now you're going to make me think. Right now, it doesn't matter if it's a buffet or not. But I would prefer to eat at a resort. It gives us a chance to check them out and dream.

Even the bus situation doesn't matter. We are only doing 3 park days and the rest will be down time. I plan on doing the TS meals on our rest days. I found that when we did a TS while in the park, I would spend too much time worrying about being late or missing it altogether.

I suppose I'm more interesting in atmosphere. Good food too, of course but looking for something different.

Yeah, I'm sure that helps. :rotfl2:

Aw geez, now we're spinning! Is there a particular meal you preferred? Some people like to eat either breakfast or lunch coz its cheaper. Some restaurants only serve at certain times....

We liked the breakfast at the Kona cafe. I read good reviews food-wise at the Wave at the Contemporary, but we haven't eaten there.

I'll second the Kona Cafe. VERY GOOD!!! :thumbsup2

Kitty - Is Crystal Palace as good as everyone says????

We weren't thrilled with it. It was really loud and busy in there. The major selling points are that its located in MK and we got pics with Pooh and friends (although we later found them in England). Food wasn't great, but we had dinner there, and lots of people rave about breakfast.

BF likes to eat at Cosmic Rays, but if we want to eat sit down, we take the boat to either AKL or the Poly. But we haven't tried Tony's yet.....

No breakfast. We are not early eaters at all.

So, we'll go with dinner at a resort restaurant. Would prefer somewhere that is a bit adventurous with the food but a couple safe choices that nobody can complain "there's nothing to eat" I would prefer someplace with interesting decor as opposed to your run of the mill restaurant setting.

Looking at all that, I'm thinking Boma. Does that fit?

D&D, are thinking of dinner, lunch or breakfast?

I have to get on in the middle the middle of food talk! YUM! I'm really not hungry but my mind is trying to get me to snack...WW ad on the bottom!

I really liked Boma, and AKL is really cool too. You could go early and watch the animals while waiting for your table to open up. I read that somewhere, but I'm not sure. I also remember reading to arrange for some tour of the art of the resort....I'll have to look that up.

Ugh...its snowing again.

Sorry about the food talk, M&N...its all JOCA's fault

There's something called the cultural safari and the culinary tour. You can also get night vision glasses to look at the animals at AKL.

Guilty. But talking never hurts. Totally calorie free.

Is AKL as pretty as it looks on tv? I think the kids would get a kick out of there too.

It's snowing here too. Only suppose to get a dusting but who believes the weather people anymore.

Ok, I'll have to look into all the stuff to do there. I figure since we'll do it on an off day, we should have plenty of time to explore.

Have you heard anything about the new restaurant there, Sanaa? I looked at their menu and it looks interesting too.

We usually do dinner TS but will do a big breakfast on the last day. That's when we did Kona. We've also got up early for Chef Mickey's breakfast buffet and then went to a park.

I am beginning to like Boma. May give that a try for late dinner.

Boma sound really neat.

Its been snowing here all day. :sad2:

DH is watching LOST, but I have given up on it. Can't follow any more.

Hi guys, sorry I've been MIA, but I've just been overwhelmed with family stuff, between DS and my Dad.

DS's behavior has gone from bad to worse. We are looking into a new psychiatrist. Fortunately they finally have a therapy group for him that starts next week. I'm praying that helps.

My dad had to have another surgery to replace the dialysis catheter that was not in the right place. It had floated up under his gall bladder! When they took it out, it was all clogged with fat globules (which means he has free-floating abdominal fat, unlike most people). Unfortunately, it is likely to happen again, which would make him unsuitable for peritoneal dialysis and mean he'd have to do hemodialysis instead. Not what we want to hear. But fortunately the surgery went well and he's not having any complications this time.

Duke has adapted well, but has started pooping all over the house. so now he has to stay in the laundry room when we leave, which he doesn't like.

I'm not sleeping well, but I'm making eating right and exercising a priority as much as I can. And yet I managed to gain 3 pounds this week somehow. Whatever--that's the least of my worries.

Praying we don't get much snow tonite so there is not a snow day tomorrow. That would totally screw up our plans for Hershey!

Miss you guys. i'm seeing your posts over on FB, just not responding much, sorry.

:hug::hug::hug:

I'm watching Lost...the man candy alone is enough to keep me interested.

I want to do Sanaa next time. I looked at the menu and I would definitely love the food. They had just opened when we were there and only had limited reservations.

Now that I know about the cultural safari and stuff, I want to do that too. They're free too! ON the culinary tour, you get to sample at both Boma and Sanaa....oh, and Boma had some amazing soups...

BF doesn't want to go back to Boma because he thought the waiter was hitting on me. Of course, that just makes it even better for me!

Wendy, I missed you! Big hugs, darling...sorry to hear about all the stuff going on with you and the family. Sending warmest wishes and hoping for better days....

You are REALLY lost! :rotfl: Sorry...could not help myself!

It's white out here now...darn groundhog...

I've only been in AKL to see the Christmas decorations...neat place.

 on the DS situation. I know the feeling only too well.
We go through days (weeks) like that. DS just damaged (who are we kidding-- destroyed) a library book from school. He had to just about empty his pig to pay the $14 fine. I sure as heck wasn't going to pay for it since he does this on purpose. Had his IEP meeting yesterday and I just about cried. How are we going to help these boys????

Our dog has been doing that too. She must be secluded while we're gone. I've tried putting doggie diapers on her but she just rips them off. :headache:

Hang in there!!!

Wendy, sending big hugs your way. And lots of prayers for your dad. I have no words of advice about DS but I'm always willing to listen if you need to blow off some steam.

Hey Wendy---just keep us updated. You watch out for yourself too. You and your health are important too.

Snow is getting deeper here...supposed to have 1-2 in.
