I really liked dinner at Boma--now that's a good buffet! I know M&N has eaten in Germany, and that's also a buffet.

Evening!

LITC, I'm so glad you checked in. I was worried about you. And big hugs to Walter. Give him a big hug from me and check in when you can.

D&D, you take it easy.

Pepper, we ate a Akershus a couple of years ago for dinner. At the time, they had a cold buffet with different salads, cheese and cold cuts. And then for your entree, it was off the menu. DH and I both got the Traditional Kjottkake. It was actually very good. DD14 got some kind of fish entree and said it was horrible. She ended up eating half of my meal.

And this Dis is always slow and I think getting slower by the minute.

If you like seafood, try Cape May. D&D highly recommends it. In fact, we have an ADR's there on Wednesday night.

I found Boma to have familiar food done in a new way. Yes, they have prime rib and turkey and stuff, there's always salads. The dessert bar is divine! I really like their version of corn bread. The soups were really good.

There were lots of people working the food, so you could always ask what was in the dish. But really, I loved everything. Even BF, who is not food adventurous, enjoyed it.

I do love me a good dessert bar!

I'm doing awesome! It was a rainy dreary day here but I guess we needed the rain. I spent most of the day cleaning. House gets messy when you are doing a yard sale.

Pepper, I don't remember if you said but how long are you staying?

DH and I have to make a big decision within the next couple of days. His mom called him today crying because they have to find a new place to live like right now. My MIL lives with her SIL and apparently some "stuff" went down over the weekend and they have to move out. I don't know all the specifics and I think I don't want to.

Anyway, they want to move in here for a little. We did this once before and it worked good for a little bit. We did it stupid though. We gave them an insane little bit to pay and help with the bills thinking they would be out quickly. Well, they ended up taking advantage and stayed much longer than DH and I thought they would. By the time they moved out, we were barely talking to them.

DH told them that they have to come up here and sit down with us and work out some details. This time we are going to set a time limit how long they can stay. And they will have to pay much more than they did before. Plus we will have to work out a chore schedule.

We really don't want to do this but how do you say no when they have no place to go?

oh, Jo, that's a tough situation. But you're doing the right thing. Try to set down the rules as much as possible and spell everything out. The kids are old enough also to have a say. I hope it works out for all of you in the best possible sense. So both women would move in or just your MIL?

It would my MIL and FIL.

I think if we are smarter about it this time, it should be ok. We are going to move DS down to our bigger bedroom and they can have his smaller room. DH and I are going to crash in the living room for a little bit till we can work out something better. We already decided that none of the kids are going to lose their own space. And if anyone is going to make the sacrifice, it's going to be the adults.

I agree JO---you and dh need to set the ground rules and show a united front. I'm sure it still will not be easy.

D&D---We had better hear from you tomorrow!:hug: Make dh post if you aren't able.:hug: Prayers for a good report.:hug:

Kitty---super shopper strikes again! Way to go!

SCHBR'smom--the date doesn't matter to me...just keep that baby, and mommie, healthy!

LITC---:hug: to Walter and mommie too! Glad he's a little trooper!

Hey to everyone else...I did catch up but am not tired.
I went with my cousin and her 2 yr old to Hershey Park. Imagination Movers were there and dc2 likes them. They wanted to see if she would sit still for a concert like thing. The place they had it was almost filled 40 min before it started---I don't know how many can sit there. Talk about crazy kids! Those around us were very well behaved though.

Hey Guys, :wave2:
I know I am hopelessly behind on posts. But I still wanted to say hello.

I have been working on getting lessons, patterns and samples done for my Summer Sewing Classes.

My ears were burning did someone mention smoking and drinking? :rotfl:

Good evening everyone. It's been a long weekend but I wanted to pop in and catch up before I was 20 pages behind!

Jo, it was a sad day. Our jar of Flarp dried up.
That would be tough trying to decide whether or not to let the in laws move in. I would certainly lay down the law so it didn't end up the same as last time. I like your idea of not allowing them to displace the kids... and hopefully you won't be diplaced too long. You are very sweet to offer considering how full your hands are already. Any chance of them finding a place of their own?

Kitty, bummer about being hi-jacked on Facebook. You would think that people who are smart enough to be hackers could find something more productive to do with their time.
I like some of your baby names but.... it doesn't matter how many baby names you pick out.... as soon as you name your child it will automatically become a popular name. When I named my daughter there were no Emmas around. Now I think I read somewhere that for the past 10 years it is like one of the most popular girl names out there. Go figure!
Again, I am in awe again of your amazing shopping skills! I was really proud of myself for saving almost $3 a can on coffee this week (I picked up 3) but that doesn't even begin to compare with your bargain expertise!

Kerrie, the kids sound so cute talking about their new baby. I'm glad for you that it didn't end up being twins. Victoria is a beautiful name. (My son's new girlfirend's name is Victoria.) I have to say that I like Mack much better than Axel. That's cute how you came up with all their names.

M&N, I hope your allergies are better. Sounds like you had fun with the kiddies.

Congrats on the new trip plans, Pepper. Hope you had better luck finding a decent rate for airfare than I have been seeing. Probably a good thing in my case since we are still waiting to see just how many of us will be going. Great job raising the funds with the garage sale! Hope you are able to get seats together.

D&D, I hope you do not end up having to go to the ER. I'll be sending prayers your way and be sure to keep us posted.

Mkgaapril, bummer about your printer!

Pikester, congratulations on the weight loss! I need to get back on track with my diet but it looks like I might as well wait until after DD's birthday on the 25th. Will have to partake of birthday cake, you know!

Ev, the train ride and tour sounded like so much fun. Maybe we will make it someday.
Lord, I hope I have someone like you around if m child ever needs help in a pool! You are awesome!

LITC, poor little Walter. He is having a time. Hope those mean little teeth quit hurting, he gets over his cold soon and that the asthma goes away.

Hi Bopsmom! Haven't seen you in awhile. Saw some of your sewing awhile back. You have been doing some pretty neat stuff!

Howdy to anyone else I neglected to mention!

Just glanced at my countdown. 170 days! I am losing track of how many TKers have Disney trips coming up. Anyone care to give a update on everyone's trips? We'll be heading to DL November 10-21.

Yesterday was zoo day for my DD's birthday celebration even though her birthday is not til Tuesday. Very nice since it was overcast early in the day but as usual it was hotter than heck after lunch. The 2 hottest places I think we have ever been are the zoo and Tom Sawyer's Island in Disneyland! Anyway, we spent the day with our game night friend's, which include my DS's newly confirmed GF. Uploading photos right now so maybe I can share a few tomorrow. Of course, we went after the zoo to pick up the new guinea pigs. They are so cute. Will have to post a picture of them tomorrow too.
Gotta run for now!

sorry I wimped out last night JO. My eyes were getting heavy!

Dreary day today and the humidity is up! At least it's not too hot in the house yet. I do not want the ac on yet.

Praying for you D&D!

Marie---glad the bday celebration was good! You know we love pics. And congrats on the new additions to the family...I'm sure the pics won't make me sneeze...;)

Bopsmom---You are teaching the sewing classes? How advanced are they? I used to love sewing. My machine is a Singer that we got used around 1963! It's just a portable. Mom said she could not get the bobbin ot work right last time she used it. I think we got our money's worth out of it.

Now sure when I'll be back tonight...I got unofficial word that a librarian was going to be sick tomorrow so I have to leave the line clear for a call from the sub service.

Have a great day....
