Love, love the pics, Marie. I love zoos too. I was looking at things to do in Denver and they are suppose to have this outstanding zoo there too. You can even shadow a zoo keeper for a morning. I know DD14 would love that.

Good morning ladies! Its bright and sunny and supposed to be near 80s today! Woo-hoo!

Is it wrong to be in love with a watermelon? I got one yesterday at the grocers and I forgot just how wonderfully delicious it is. And the sweet corn! Yum. I also got these all natural coconut popsicles that should be illegal they're so good. I literally couldn't wait...I opened one in the car.

Marie, those pics are great! Happy Birthday week to DD! DS looks happy too....ah, young love. The zoo was a great idea! I've only been to the National Zoo in DC and the zoo at Hershey...I'm looking forward to seeing it again next month!

I got the Shrek glasses from McDonalds yesterday....I love them! I especially love the Puss in Boots one...he's my favorite. And if you get the glasses, it comes with a promo code that you can exchange for some Shrek thing, a free Redbox DVD rental or 25 free prints from Snapfish. Since I got the complete set of glasses, I also got 100 free prints! Fantastic!

I can't have Alka-Seltzer....it contains aspirin, which I'm deathly allergic to. My sister sings its praises though. It looks like such a fun drink too.

Good Morning! It's 70* already! The sun is shining and it's suppose to get up into the mid 80's.

MK, we have the set of Disney 100 Years of Magic glasses. I love them. I use one when I am missing Disney which seems to be all the time. Those Shrek ones sure are cute too. I wonder if I can convince DH that eating at McDonalds can be a good thing.

Found quite a few interesting things to read this morning. One thread about Facebook, 12 year olds, a foul word and mom jumping the gun (IMO) wanting to report another child for using the foul word. I think it was the first time I've ever seen everyone on the CB in agreement with their disagreement with the OP.

Then there was a thread about security at WDW. Or the lack of it. Someone asked if the bag check at the park entrance makes you feel safer. I don't think of it as a safety measure but more of a crowd control measure. And not that I don't feel safe at Disney. I feel safer there than most other parks I have gone to. One has actual metal detectors you have to walk through. Don't feel safe there. It just tells me that there have been problems. Another has no type of security at all when you walk in. Makes me wonder.

JO, as a klutz, I can attest the Shrek glasses are a good investment. They are super durable on the bottom and quite similar to the Disney glass you're talking about. I have one of those...were they a set? I'm bummed now I didn't get them!

We still have the Star Wars glasses from decades ago from Burger King. Seriously, I think they may be the one thing my sister and I may argue over....

Edward just called me. Apparently his friend won't be using her timeshare in a few weeks and is offering it to him...and me! Its in Miami! I've never been. Edward has some friends who work for USAirways so he's seeing if he can get buddy passes for us...I don't want to get too excited yet. But another practically free getaway (not including the drinks and clubbing of couse....). Can it be done? I'm looking into rental cars right now...

You have to be really really special in my life to use a Star Wars glass! Sad, I know, but its true....

I was able to switch my Hershey hotel ressie to two queens--for us three queens that are going to be there! I was only able to reserve a king room at first, I just kept calling back to try to get the two beds. I'm so glad I reserved early--the rates are up to $189 now!

I'm trying really hard not to get excited...but already I'm wondering where my bathing suit is. Must....get.....something....done....

Upgrade is great love having 2 rooms and more important 2 bathrooms...never had a suite with a TV in the bathroom before though.

Had the Buffet at Mandalay Bay last night...pigged out on crab legs. YUM!

Hi Everyone,
Quick message before I have to go to DS12's last band concert tonight. I'm excited to see him play again, but secretely we're hoping we make it home for American Idol at 7pm.

I am feeling a little better but still have that can't digest stuff feeling of fullness that won't go away. Ultrasound is on Thurs. so hopefully that will give some answers. (Even thought the Dr. isn't sure when they will get back to her w/ the results.) Not sure if its completely the acid as I got no relief from Tums etc. Thanks for everyone's concern.

DH has found some job leads so he has been using the computer to update resume and sent out some applications. Not sure when I will get on the computer again. I'll try again tonight, but his job apps take priority.

Marie - love the pics. Your DD looks so cute but has that mischievous look in her eyes. I love it!!!! DS's & girlfriend make a cute couple.

Kitty - I think Ben still had something to work out before he could go to "heaven" so that's why he stayed outside church. They said some of the other characters weren't there and that symbolized they were still "working stuff out" too. I LOVE this concept. My favorite book is The Five People you Meet in Heaven, so this played right into that.

DL55 - I was wondering about the potluck picnic myself. I think JO and M&N might be handling that.

Are we going to do this via email again? I have the list of food from last year if you want to use that. Let me know.

Good evening...with Lost gone, now I can restart my devotion to Glee.

The Miami trip is hinging on Edward getting buddy passes from his friends. One works for Southwest, the other for USAirways. My sister will also be able to join us for a few days.

I'm feeling the eensy weensiest guilt about the trip. I just went to Florida. Now Miami, the week after Hershey and Kansas City. Its going to give my kitties a complex. But this is what summer is about right? Going out and just doing things.

My budget is crying, but I know (and so do you) that its not going to stop me!

D...I was wondering about you. Sorry you're not getting any relief. Hope you figure out the way to be most comfortable. Congrats on the DH lead front! Crossing my fingers and praying for both of you....

Good evening ladies! I hesitated to post my zoo photos....after all it was just the zoo... but now I am glad I did. Glad ya'll enjoyed them. I am always so proud (and surprised) when my picture taking efforts turn out well for a change.

M&N, my son is 19. This is his first really significant relationship and he is just so cute. (don't tell anyone cause it would tarnish his tough guy image) I never had any brothers growing up so I never had any idea what it would be like raising a son. I always just assumed guys didn't really have any of the same emotions as girls. He has proved me wrong. He gets just as excited as I did as a teenager. I am so glad he feels comfortable telling us everything and asking for advice. I'm thinking it has got to be a God thing cause we actually met her family when we first started homeschooling 13 years ago and had been out of touch for a long time until just recently.

Jo, those lizard things are.... your gonna love this..... horny toads. There used to be tons of them when I was growing up here in Texas but I think the fire ants ran them off. Last time I saw a live one outside of the zoo was in Colorado of all places. I thought they lived in warm climates.
You should take you DD to follow the zoo keeper around. I bet she would have a blast. I think most zoos have some sort of programs like the one you mentioned. The FTW zoo has an overnight one. Would probably be fun if you could do it privately but I am not sure I would want to be stuck overnight with strangers. Be my luck there'd be some obnoxious kids... or parents.

I don't know, Kitty. Do you think that melon returns your feelings? Better not get in too deep. I just have a feeling he may be one of those who up and does a disappearing act on you.

DL55, thanks for the animal identification. I have actually heard of those! If those necks were just a little longer I don't think they would even have to stand on their back legs they would be up there with the giraffes! Strange looking critters!
