You can certainly buy a new phone, but its going to be costly. If you're going to stay with your current provider, you'd just put the SIM card into the new phone. No contract needed, costs up front.

If you sign for a new contract, that's when you get the newest phones for cheap. And you'd still just put the SIM in the new phone.

In my area, iPhones are an exclusive with At&t. I'm not sure if its always that way.

In my area, I'm pretty much locked into Verizon. But for the best deals, I'd check out my Radio Shack. Instead of doing mail-in rebates, they'll take the money off right there.

If you're interested in staying with your current provider, check out their website. They often have great deals on the phones online, if you decided to stay in contract. They'll send the phone to your home and you activate it yourself.

I'd also go to your phone company's website and look at the phones. Most websites have reviews there.

I've heard really good things about the Droid. But this week's Consumer reports is about the best cell phones and the best cell phone plans. I have it, but haven't read it yet. If you want, I can take a look and let you know later.

I'd also peruse the Good Housekeeping website. They have unbiased reviews that I trust too.

What exactly is DH looking for? Rumor has it that you can get a good phone (refurbished though) at Big Lots. I have no aversion to refrubs, they're still under warranty, but some people aren't into it.

D...you'll see two prices usually. The cheaper one is with a contract. Look for a tab phones0--something for no contract. Like a phone will cost you $40 with a 2-year, but $350 otherwise.

Deb, it really depends on who your carrier is. I have Verizon, very happy with them. And I LOVE my Blackberry!!!! It does everything except my laundry! Sometimes you can get a mid-range price by doing a 1 year contract extension. Again, depends on your carrier.

Good morning ladies! I did it! I finally did it! I finished my holiday cards!

Its really a tactical move. Really have to get my behind in gear in visitor prep. Can't do it yet. The guest house is mostly ready. I washed the linens and towels. Just have to do a quick vaccuum and dust on Saturday. But my house? absolute shambles. Have boxes going to the Phils, gifts to wrap, recyclables, overall chaos. I really am at a loss. Too overwhelming.

So of course, I'm getting ready to watch Despicable Me instead.

I was wondering about LITC too. I'm going to send her a text today.

The coffee crisp, in its golden glory, is calling me. But I know once I tear into his crinkly goodnessm I won't be able to stop. Its a dilemma.

Nope, it's not your computer. Same thing has been happening to me, to my BFF, and to others I've talked to. It's a FB issue. Pain in the neck too!!
