Well ladies, let's just say I did not make it to my holiday cards yet. My mother called that her car was dead. She's an hour away. I told her to call AAA, but she didn't have her card with her. UGH! So I got dressed and went to go get her. In the meantime, security at the parking lot had called AAA for her and they gave her a jump. So my trip was pretty much a waste.

While I was out, I went to Lowes. I wanted to buy a lamp for the nightstand for my cousin's arrival. I found the perfect lamp at a great price, but they were all sold out! I pleaded with the manager to let me buy the floor model and he let me! I got two buffet lamps with shades for $12.97! I also got a 5 by 8 rug for $13. Its going to look great.

Its starting to get nasty here too. Insane cold coming in and there's a light snow with lots of wind. Everyone stay safe and warm and try to distract the kids as much as possible.

I'm off to pen a household manifesto for my cousin. Sort of a staying-with-me handbook. Like you will be mauled by my dog. And cats will walk on you. Breakfast is a free for all. Super casual here, all-day pajamas are encouraged, etc....

Kitty---Maybe you should get a cross stitch of the household manifesto made...it would save time everytime someone visited! Don't forgeet to include not to step on Roomba!

We had that article about going to disney too many times in our paper too! I just knew it would be the talk here if anyone else had it--I thought it was a syndicated columnist thing. I do have to agree in part that there are other places worthy of visiting. But Mickey is still magical no matter how many times I walk down Main Street!

So sorry about the snow for you all. Even my cousin in VA said they are having some...I guess Shmu is too.

If I new how to crosstitch, I'd seriously consider it. I know when you're the host, you're supposed to cater to your guests needs, but really I can't be bothered. Its nothing personal or meant to be insulting, I'm just lazy.

Patrick is in for his 90,000 mile checkup. I have a cranberry 01 PT Cruiser in the garage. Not too sure about driving it. We had flurries that stuck to the streets...the worse kind of snow! It makes the intersections slippery. It's blowing in the country...hopefully no more of those flurries. Poor Pat will not get his free carf wash though because of the cold!

So I sent off the manifesto, and he took it well. I did demand he tell me what he likes to eat, so at least for a few days, while we get to know each other, he won't starve. Here's his list:
1) frozen waffles
2) vanilla yogurt
3) cashews
4) ice cream

Really? I know he's younger than me, but THAT's what he wants to eat?

So, if you remember, I ordered from Ecko last week. Winter coats for $20. They came in today and they rock! They are so warm and toasty and the hoodie has faux fur! Its lovely. I almost am tempted to go out in this g*d-forsaken weather and try it out.

Mmm...side dishes. Mashed sweet potatoes and stuffing so far. Made potato salad and egg salad. I serve the egg salad on bagel crisps, that's about as fancy as I get. I couldn't decide on a main dish, so I decided to empty the panty and just make what I could. I'm pretty happy about it too!

Question for ya....

My DH wants a new cell phone for Christmas because his is on its last legs. Can I just buy a new phone and put his SIM card in or do I have to sign another 2yr contract w/ our provider and get one of theirs?
How about iPhones? Are they pretty expensive and do they work w/ any plan?
