Rats---I just ate a candy cane kiss! YUM!!! Be still my sugar! Thankfully there's only 6 left!
I think if you eat only 1 every other day, you should be fine - right? ;) They're soooo good.

Sounds like St. Nick was really good to you D! That ornament sounds adorable! Picture please! I had the Weeble house when I was little. I miss it so.
The picture is in a link on my post. I also found out they have the Hallmark Fisher Price Airplane ornament out there too. :yay: Better tell Santa about that one.

Will the Shrek dvd still be on sale this week? I want the final one and the Donkey one that's with it. I do have the other 2.
I think it goes on sale today. Gotta check the ads.

I'm trying to convince myself to clean for the DirecTv cutie's arrival on Thursday.
He's coming on your b-day???? Maybe he'll be wrapped in a bow? :rotfl2:

Afternoon, or close enough. Curt made it home around 11:30 last night. He did his paper work and fell right to sleep. Today is my day to bug him about Christmas and vacation. ;)

Holly, that stocking is pretty cool and seems really easy. I'm going to show it to the girls and see if they want to make some. Hopefully that will keep them occupied for a bit over the weekend.

MK, you are so right about the 40's feeling like a heat wave right about now. If it were 40 here, I could take off some of the layers I have on and that's just in the house.

Hey D&D, M&N, LITC and everyone else.

Kitty - so sorry to hear about your classmate. That's so sad.

Bopsmom - Those stockings are adorable!!! That is such a neat idea.

Whgrn - Can you take a few more of us on your Christmas vacation???? Its sooo cold here

LITC - Hope Walter is doing better.

Sun is out here today, but temps only in the teens. I really need a vacation.

well, duh. I totally missed the linky about the ornament. And yes, its super cute!

yes, DirecTv cutie is coming on my birthday. I'm hoping he'll be so disturbed by the tiara that he won't notice the big mess.

I think I've figured out the false lashes issue. I was putting it on a bare lid, and I was disturbed by the way it looked. YouTube taught me to put my makeup on first (duh again) and it will blend much better. Thing is, I have Asian eyelashes that go out instead of up, and no amount of curling will help. So I still look kinda weird.

Again, all this is to distract the DirecTv guy and maybe score some more free channels.

Our internet secruity is set to expire soon and they want $79 to renew. I think that's too much. Anyone have a good security that isn't too expensive and doesn't hog up too much space??? I think this is why our system has been running so slowly.

D...mine expires this week too! I read some good things about Microsoft Security Essentials on CNET. Its free. I'm going to try it out.

You've got a birthday tiara?? I bet if you add a b-day sash he will really take notice.

I actually have 2 virus programs on my computer. Malwarebytes and AVG Anti-virus. Both are free. Malwarebytes is very good but I have to run the scan myself instead of it being automatic. I'm sure there's a setting to make it run automatically but I haven't really looked to find it. I run that one when something pops on AVG. Even if AVG says it got rid of the virus, I run a second one with malwarebytes to make sure nothing was missed. AVG has settings to it will automatically scan your computer for viruses and such. I have mine set to run at 3am every morning. They are both really good but you really don't need both. With the kids on the computer so much here and getting a virus years ago that was a witch to get rid of, I like to be prepared.

oh, and one more thing, having both on my computer has not slowed anything down and I have a cheapo computer from Walmart. I just like having both on my computer because once in a while they will catch separate things.

MK, birthdays are a good day for tiaras. But then, any day could be good for a tiara.

I always have a tiara handy. I actually have several. And a feather boa. I actually put on silly stuff when I try to clean. I like to entertain myself.

I'll check out those programs too....thanks for the info!

ooh, I just realized why I'm still single. I got too much freak going on.

Wendy,
Your card arrived to day. My first one :-) this year. Mine are sitting on the table but I have to put them together.

BTW Ladies....if you didn't know it Wendy does BEAUTIFUL Paper folding designs, you should see her work. It's fabulous.

If we go with polish Haley is making these for them:

and adding a nail file, a toe ring and/or anklet to go with them.

OMG I could NEVER do a craft like that! I'm totally all thumbs. That paper folding is super easy, which is why I can do it. Glad you liked the card! I got your angel today. Thanks so much, I love it! It's hanging on my tree and when I look at it I will think of you!

Not feeling well. I have a cold and the sweats and chill in the house (we're getting into the high 20's tonight) is not going to help. I can't get sick(er) before DD's concert tomorrow and the trip.

You take it easy girl! Can't have you getting sick. Get some sleep, drink plenty of warm liquids, and avoid the cold. Nurse's orders!

Whgrn - Can you take a few more of us on your Christmas vacation???? Its sooo cold here

I'd gladly take you ALL!

I've got to check those out. Just got my renewal notice from Norton. I'm not real impressed with them, and they do make the computer run slow.

Bopsmom...ssh! Its Ev's birthday on Thursday. She shares it with Donny Osmond. And me.

Ladies
I have a question to pose to the collective. I know how "they" on the Dis feel about using medical reasons for line jumping so I am afraid to even ask about anything like that.

Yesterday when I was at MDA my MedOnc was checking me over.

I have a serious issue with my feet.
I have neuropathy in my feet from my chemo.
Even socks blister the skin on my feet and a it hurts like hell to walk. I have bought tons of shoes but can't wear any of them for more that an hour or so.

She said she wanted me to use a wheelchair :sad1:

An infection from the blistering or the blistering I am getting around the cuticles could cause me have my toenails removed or worse(although I don't know what could be worse)

She wrote me a letter to take on the plane and for the parks.
BTW-My doctors ALL seem to be Disney nuts.:rotfl:

I know that SO MANY people use them to jump lines and while I feel fine otherwise, I don't know how to use it if I needed and I don't want to deal with the attitude-----people look at you funny and act like you are faking it.

Pleast give any and all advice.

And if anyone looks at you funny just gently extend your arm, extend your middle finger and say "Sit and spin."

OK, seriously though use whatever you need to make yourself comfortable for your trip.

BF uses a wheelchair when we're at the parks. We don't even have some sort of medical letter. We just go up to the CM outside the attraction and ask if there's a special wheelchair entrance (lots in MK) or anything we should know about before we get on line.

The trick is to not listen to anyone else but your own heart beating with excitement and bursting with love. If anyone says anything to you, ask them "pardon me? did you say something?" Most people shut up when confronted head on.

As for shoes, maybe flip flops or some loose fitting shoes would be best? Don't risk the blistering. Make sure to take things easy and maybe soak your feet at night when you get back.

You don't need to justify anything to anyone (ok, except maybe for the CMs), just enjoy!

how wonderful! Just tell Curt to drive slowly. Its yucky out there.

Just heard on FB that a high school classmate of mine passed away. He's the first one of our class. We only had 88 people, so its really sad. We went to church together. He was such a good man. I'm sad for him and his family, especially at this time of year.

 We lost our first classmate in Grade 11 (Junior for you) in a car accident...we've lost 3 more since (my class was around 80 too) I remember in High School talking to one of the girls about the year 2000 and how we would be 36...she looked at me and said "I won't be here"...turns out she had CF...she died in her late 20s.

I'd like to see Shrek too. And of course, Eclipse now that I've read the books.

Got my copy this week too...still haven't watched though.

Can't put it any better than Pike did...use the chair!!

Do you want to know if you should get the GAC or use the wheelchair? Or both?

I've had conversations about the GAC here because of taking my niece next year. She has severe mental disabilities. We don't know how she is going to react in the parks. She's never been to a theme park before. It was suggested to me that on our first day at the parks, to get her a GAC. It is good for your entire length of stay. Now you can tuck it away and never use it if you don't need to or just pull it out when things are at their worst on your feet. It is only to help you make your trip more enjoyable.

As for the wheelchair, do you think you would need to use one all day? Part of the day? Considering what you've said, I would get one early in the morning. And I think if you have the wheelchair, you would not even need the GAC.

Don't worry about what other people think. Who the hell cares.....you won't ever see them again. And as far as I know, you won't really be jumping any lines. Most are handicapped accessible and you'll be able to go through the regular line with your family. Use the wheelchair for your comfort and if anyone looks at you funny, do what Stef says but do it with a smile.
