Title edited by mods.... Olympics spoilers

I think I'll stay off this board until the Olympics are over. BTW, I too thought some little kid had fallen and hurt themself.

After all the spoiler talk, it's apparent that IQ's continue to drop.

Hahahahaha I would be pretty angry if I didn't already know the results from the internet. If she did fall she still did pretty good. So obviously when you fall you are not out of the medal race in the olympics. You probably won't want to post on here anymore I think you made too many people angry to ever come back. Have a nice day!

I'd have a bone to pick with the OP, bit I just watched it anyway :hyper:

I stand corrected. I did wonder if people with satellite too have an opportunity to see it live, but for the most part, here in the US I doubt very many have seen it already.

Oh well....life goes on. :thumbsup2

Actually we just have basic cable (no satellite) and we live in Ohio but we are able to get it on the canadian channel as well so maybe more than you think have seen it.just a thought...I do think it was rude to post the spoiler right in the title though...I watched it and didn't even consider coming on here and posting the results. There are a couple other threads that clearly state its a spoiler and that way you can choose to read it or not, but this one was pretty inconsiderate. I personally don't mind knowing the results of things when they are available, but I can understand how some may want to wait and watch for themselves...of course this in no way excuses peoples behavior to the OP either...politeness and courtesy goes 2 ways...JMO

I can see why everyone is upset. I would be upset too if I didn't already know the results. With that being said, If I wanted to wait and watch it on TV I probably would have stayed off the boards until the skating competition was over for fear of a post like this. Trolls are lurking and they enjoy ruining it for everyone. Why take a chance by coming on this or any boards before the competition airs?

Yeah and the OP could have changed her thread title before bolting. IMO, she did this on purpose with the sole intent on spoiling it for everyone. She gets no courtesy from me.

I was really bummed when I saw the title. Its a tough tv night between survivor, american idol, dancing with the stars and the olympics. Why do they all come on the same night.

However my local news(abc) just reported on the results and showed some stills. So even if I didn't see it here, the news just ruined it. I guess the DVR will be working overtime tonight.

LOL! I'd like the whole bunch of these arguements and demands on these threads to disappear. Sure she fell, but she got a silver anyway. If you didn't want to hear that, don't open a thread about skating until you watch it on the tube!

I'm glad you enjoyed that post, after clearly having read that most people reading this thread hadn't heard the real results only what the original troll said. I've got to hand it to you, you've got guts. The OP pretended to be a new poster by hiding under an alias. You got your digs in under your regular name.

While I'll live through it, count me in as another person who couldn't resist opening the thread since the spoiler said she was out anyway. I also figured it was a lie. You spoiled different results than the OP.

Cathy - I understand what you're saying, I really do, and I feel kinda bad for some of you that had things spoiled. Buuuuuuut .... with all the spoiler stuff that has been argued about and screamed about and ranted about, and discussed to death, :bitelip: yes I'm guilty, if anyone really didn't want to know, and they really wanted to watch tonight without a hint of the outcome, why come to the CB knowing this stuff has been happening? It seems that even if there was the slightest chance, that would defeat their purpose.

Karma for not putting the word *spoiler* in a thread title? I think that might equate to finding out about a surprise party or something. :teeth:

ITA. Common sense tells you to stay away from a board where every topic under the sun is discussed.

Don't forget those damn news channels.....they better get their just desserts too!! :lmao:

You're so right. I'm sure the OP woke up this morning with nothing better on his/her agenda then to spoil the day of a bunch of total strangers with nothing better to do than sit around and post here and wait for the Olympics to come on. :scratchin

Maybe it's time people stepped away from the computer and found lives in the real world.

Sorry, but this is really a dumb thing to be so upset about.

And so is tons of other things that people chose to complain about on a daily basis here. I have a life - thank you very much for your concern though. I didn't realize popping in here while taking a break from other things indicates not having a life. Who knew? :confused3
You can be annoyed and irritated the OP did this and have a life and do other things besides post here. Shocker, I know :hyper:

I'm not sure if I'm the Cathy you are referring to or not, but I'll answer anyways. LOL
In the last few days this whole spoiler thing has been discussed to death. There was actually already a thread going here about the the skating that said spoilers, so why the OP felt the need to do this is beyond me. I don't think it was done in innocence. For anyone reading these boards you see all kinds of threads about TV shows, Lost, Survivor, AI. These are ongoing discussions that say spoilers. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out not to post something like that in the title. I thought this really had been resolved.
Anyway, There really are ways to get around hearing results (I can and many others can too). Some may believe that others may not. Whatever.
I guess I was naieve (sp?) in my thinking that for ONCE people would use some common sense and common courtesy and think about what they are doing.
Is it the end of the world? Heck no, but for some people this is something they've been really looking forward to and it really is a shame it has been spoiled for them.
Now, truthfully even though the whole thing stinks and I've been very vocal about it, chances are I was not going to be able to watch it anyways. But I am protesting because I still believe it was wrong and a low thing to do. Am I tragically affected, no. Not even close. I just feel bad for the others and perhaps, just perhaps something can be done to really stress the importance of spoilers. I don't think people should have to spend weeks away from here because of some people not thinking about their actions.
I'm sorry to that some people think others are making a big deal out of nothing, but hey, everyone has their "thing" and just because others don't agree doesn't mean we don't care about important things in life.
So, take it for what it's worth and life goes on and all that crap. I just hope that in the future people will think twice before posting willy-nilly.

Unfortunately I heard the results in the car on the way home on the 5:00 news......

I think the title is a little exaggerated. It sounds like she fell and didn't get back up.... :(

ITA. Unfortunately living in a bubble is not an option and no matter how hard you try the Olympics are such a hot topic that someone, the news, internet etc. is bound to spoil it. My personal opinion FWIW is that the people who are angry on here about the spoilers continue to come back here to see if their point was made not to put spoilers in the title or the first few lines of the thread or whatever and then get angry all over again because their point was obviously not made. If I really didn't want to know the last place I would come is to a forum where it is obvious there are spoilers. :confused3

:rotfl2: Ahhhh, all the love and pixie dust is gone today I see. You folks crack me up. Who wants to know who won Gold and Bronze? :wizard:

Yes, you were the Cathy I was referring to, I just type slow and wasn't able to get my post near yours. LOL!

I think the problem is that the *spoiler* thing is never going to be resolved. It will be like this the next Olympics. Or the next breaking news story ... there will be millions of posts about the same thing because some people want to be the first to post about it or some people are just so anxious to discuss things they don't bother to see if a discussion is going on or some don't care ... etc.

I have no idea why the person did this. It seems to me that with all the talking to death about spoilers people wouldn't (Lord knows one poor person was shamed into learning a lesson :crazy2: ), but people are people and they have all sorts of reasons for doing things.

I don't think anyone has to take weeks away from the CB to enjoy the Olympics, just be prepared to be spoiled if they take a chance coming here knowing this stuff goes on.

Anyway, I hope those that want to watch it still watch it. Just because you may or may not know the outcome doesn't mean it can't be exciting anyway. I know the outcome of the movie JAWS, but I watch it every Memorial Day Weekend and am never disappointed. :teeth:
