Has anyone been to the permanent Titanic exhibit in Orlando? I just ran across it online - wasn't even aware it existed. I never made it to the traveling Titanic exhibit, much to my dismay. I'm a big Titanic fan but what I saw on their website actually looks a little cheesy. If anyone's been, could you tell me how it was and if it's worth the $20 and time away from WDW? Thanks! :goodvibes

I went to the travelling one while it was in Detroit. It was a little disappointing because half of the "good stuff" (ie. recreation of the grand staircase, etc.) had gone to one of the other locations that the exhibit was at. So, I think I might have to check out the permanent one next time I'm down there. Sorry I'm not much help lol!

Hi,
This exhibit was discussed not too long ago on one of the boards. If you do a search for "Titanic Experience" I think you'll find those messages. I haven't seen it, so I can't give you any first hand info.

Thanks for the advice. I'm pretty new to the boards and my first instinct is to ask for help - I need to get into the habit of doing searches first!

Hi...here is a cut and paste of a reply I did last year...enjoy...Ted

Hi...we enjoyed it also..Just FYI, there are NO real relics from the ship. There are a number of very large rooms that are mocked up as parts of the ship. So you stand "on the deck," and in a number of parts of the ship including the grand staircase.

There are lots of dishes and ship parts that are models or replicas.

I think the guides are always "crew members" who give give you a very nice tour that is quite sobering. There are lots and lots of pictures and you can wander as much as you like.
We used a local discount coupon. It is located convenient to Disney area with lots of shops and places to shop and wander before and after...

And FYI here is a site to get two tickets from IBIDUSA auction..we did this ended up paying about 10 each per ticket!

http://www.ibidusa.com/AuctionDetai...9&TCID=2&FLID=0

11/1/06......IbidUSA is not the same anymore...search google for discount tickets orlando and there are many sites that will get about $14.00 adult tickets vs. $19.00 at the door...Ted

enjoy...
Ted

It is about a 2 hour guided tour and it is very entertaining and educational at the same time. If your kids are young, they will probably get bored during it though. It is great for those that loved the movie. They have a reproduction of the costumes that Rose and Jack wore when they boarded Titanic.

There is One actual deck chair from the Titanic at this exhibit , everything else is a reproduction. Was there this past August.....not bad !! Wait till you ...Touch the Iceberg there.......... :rotfl2: :goofy: :disrocks:

I personally enjoyed the exhibit. I am a huge Titanic fan, more the actual ship than the movies and I loved this tour. The way they did it was very moving. Really gave an idea of what you would have gone through that night...

Hi,
Me and my DS went to see this exhibition a couple of years ago, and thoroughly enjoyed it. Yes, there is only one 'real' relic.. a deck chair, but the wall of ice and the 'grand staircase' make up for that.
It's very interesting and kept my (then 12yr old) son enthralled for the 2 hours.
I'd see it again. I enjoyed it!
