My boyfriend and I are off to WDW in a couple of weeks and are both flying upper class for the first (and probably only!) time ever.

So, any tips for flying the way the other half lives? Is there anything I should know? Any special etiquette tips (like don't upset Naomi Campbell if she's on your flight as she'll chuck her mobile phone at your head, etc)?

Having me and the other half in upper class is going to be like letting hillbillies into Buckingham Palace... :rotfl:

we flew UC for my 30th birthday (like you say, unlike to happen again) and it's very much a relaxed atmosphere. Before take off they explain everything you need to know. You can dine when you want (I wanted to watch a movie first and have my dinner afterwards, which was no problem).
Pretty much, just go as you are :)

My tip would be to give yourself time to enjoy the Virgin Clubhouse prior to boarding - maybe pre-book a treatment if you haven't already... :goodvibes

I was about to suggest that.....:cloud9:

Just relax and enjoy it.....and remember if your driving the other end don't drink too much champagne! ;)

use the clubhouse and limo service.

ask for the pyjamas even on the daytime flight - on the nightflight you are automatically offered them but not on the day flight. I always ask for them as they're great to take home and keep for slobbing about.

make sure your seats are not the ones right at the back of the nose section cabin. You're next to the bar and it can be noisy. Try and get the front row seats - they're the best if you're with someone.

Try and sleep on the day flight out to MCO - normally they UC cabin lights are dimmed on day flights for people to sleep (unlike the rest of the cabins) so take advantage, get a few hours in a that way you should eliminate jet lag and get into the time change much quicker as you wont be falling asleep at 9pm as you've already had 4 hours sleep on the plane.

Take pictures if you want - I often see people taking piccies in the cabin.

Free pyjamas?!? You have got to be freaking kidding me!!!

I love pyjamas - especially when they're free!!!

I'm SO excited now!

You're going to love it, I do. Try and book seats opposite each other and not next to each other as then you can see each other and it's more fun.

I love upper class and I'm sure you will too.

:thumbsup2

Hi Guys,

My Hubby and I are flying UC for the first time next April and its great to see your comments here. We are soooooo excited too!!!

How do we pre-book a treatment at the Heathrow clubhouse and what treatments are available? I have also read that there are massages and manicures on board too?

We have got seats 5K and 6K booked. Are these the best when you fly as a couple?

Thanks

The Gatwick route has never had the inflight beauty treatments and the Heathrow routes lost them some months ago :(

If you go to the VA website it has a list of Clubhouse treatments and an email address for the pre requests, Lisa pack your swimwear in hand luggage incase you have time to use the spa!! :teeth:

I would say the best seats on the Gatwick planes are those furthest to the front and opposite each other, so 6A & 6K may be the best followed by 7A & 7K.

As for the Heathrow flights going out I would prefer downstairs towards the front, 12A & 12K or 14A & 14K, and returning on the upper deck 5K & 6K would not be good as one is just infront of the exits and the other behind halfway along the cabin, better seats would be 9A & 9K towards the back but still opposite each other, that is assuming you are on the 747!!

Thanks Clare,

We are booked on the Miami flight from Heathrow as we are touring around Florida next year as well as staying at our DVC home.

So does anyone know if there is an upstairs on the Miami flight and whether seats 5k and 6k are the best seats for travelling together as a couple.

The MIA flight is 75% of the time an Airbus so the seats are ok but if it is the 747 then I would say no, as posted earlier they are on the upper deck and seperated by the emergency exit.
