Our Honeymoon trip is October 22-27, we're visiting Magic Kingdom the day we arrive which is the 22 and the 24, both being a Tuesday and a Thursday. We're staying at a cheap hotel the 21st and getting up early to check into our hotel and move on over to MK the 22, Hopefully we'll be there a little before or after Rope Drop. Not sure if the party will fall on those days but from what I checked last year it feel on a Tuesday and Thursday during this week last year.

Any tips? I read somewhere it's not a good idea to go on your arrival day? Any tips on attending the parties? Viewing fireworks and the parades. I'm not to big on character meet and greets cept for maybe Alice in Wonderland. I also believe we will catch the second Parade.

What type of costumes will be alright? I'm interested in dressing up as Alice. of course I understand they will need to be family friendly.

Thanks for any help given!

The Halloween party is awesome! It's also great for getting on rides with basically NO line, especially as the night gets a little later. The parade is so awesome, I would honestly recommend seeing it both times. I've been to MNSSHP 3 times, and watched the parade twice each time...so six times total! Not sure if you know, but you can get into the party at 4 (even though it starts at 7) and you don't need a regular park ticket for that- just your MNSSHP ticket. There are also a few souvenirs for purchase that are put out only during the Halloween party in case that sort of thing interests you. As far as costumes, plenty of people go ALL out with theirs, and also plenty of people dont dress up at all- so you won't feel out of place no matter how big or small you do it!

We've been going to MNSSHP five times in the last three years - it's getting more and more crowded each year, but if you've never been it's a must-do! You'll be going before Halloween, so I would go earlier in the week vs later (to have a buffer between the number of parties and the actual Halloween night).

Our first year we walked in right as the parade started, got an open curb spot on Main Street - however that has never happened since. I would say go to the second parade for fewer crowds (although the second parade is a good time to get through a lot of things that will normally have long lines).

I would go on Tuesday night if there is a party - last year they changed it up on our week and the parties were Monday, Thursday, Friday, instead of Tuesday, Thursday, Friday.

I don't know why it wouldn't be a good idea to go on our arrival day, unless you're flying and worried about getting there late or you think you'll be too tired for it. We generally get to WDW by mid-morning, so we do a lot on our arrival days.

Keep an eye on the characters - even if you're not big on them, the more obscure ones comes out that night (a lot of villains).

For Hallowishes, we've seen them all over. Obviously the best area is right in front of the castle, but Tomorrowland showed plenty. We got stuck in Frontierland one year and decided to go on BTMRR instead - turns out we timed it perfectly and hit the last incline just as the Grand Finale went off. We had the best seat in the house!

Pretty much any costume is okay (just as long as you use common sense and it's appropriate). Alice is fine as long as you don't act like the character - no posing for pictures with strangers and signing autographs. Disney takes a pretty hard line on that one.

oh you are going to love it! about 2 years ago we went and I dressed up as a "La Muerte Victoriana" (my own concept- basically an excuse to wear my victorian steampunk getup and sugar-skull make up on half on my face) and people were taking my picture everywhere i went! :rotfl2: many a times i would also run up to other families that were dressed up (the ghostbusters were the best!) and we would have to take turns taking each other's pics :rotfl2:
Also, its a GREAT time to interact with the characters (because there are so many!) I asked Alice if she and Reginald (Mad Hatter) where an "item" tee-hee-hee! she wasn't amused but he was :lmao:

(wish i had pics but im at work :sad2:)

My only tip. Get thee to the Dollar Store and get as many glow in the dark things as u can. You'll love them and if u give them out, the kids around will love them too !

Oh. and make sure you can wear your outfit/make-up during warm/hot weather. nothing scary or ****tish :scared: but u already knew that.

IM SO JEALOUS! I SO WANT TO GO!

YOU ARE GOING TO LOVE IT!!!

We went to MNSSHP in September and watched the 2nd Parade from in front of the Train Station/Town Square. There were lots of empty spaces and there seemed to be a lot more character interaction. There are also many photo op places in the Town Square area.
Dressing up as Alice will be so fun! I went as Sally Skellington and DD was Cruella - Cruella, from the parade, came over to speak with her!
Have a great time!

You are going to have a blast at MNSSHP! Don't miss the headless horseman who comes down about 10 minutes before the parade starts. The parade is fantastic, Hallowishes is awesome, the dance parties with the characters, trick or treat goodies, the villians show! Just great. The second parade always has a lighter crowd and the lines are shorter for the rides. Don't miss the "ghost" at HM - she is hysterical. There is also a picture op by the hearse and when developed you take home a hitchhiking ghost with you. One of the rare times you will see all seven dwarfs together (they were back by Splash Mountain last year). Can you tell we love it!!!!

We usually stand by Casey's or a little back for the fireworks and go either to Liberty Square by the Christmas shop or near Country Bear for the parade.

Have a great time.
