tips on how to save an autograph

This is coming from someone who knows more about kids' crafts than vehicle finishes, but is there some kind of clear film you could stick over it, smoothing it on to get the air bubbles out? Kind of like when you're applying a decal? Might not look as flawless as a spray, but it's all I can think of!

i think i will try the clear decal idea. somone else suggested a hobby shop sealant liike they use on models, but i do not want to mess with spraying. and most decals stay clear. so i will try that. anyone have any idea where to buy this stuff or a good kind. i have never seen it in a clear piece. i always see it with something on it.
i posted the pics of him signing on the palm beach county firefighters camping group. have not got the pictures of the actual truck up yet tomorrow when i get off shift.

thanks big daddy. hey does this mean at halloween we can sit down and have a beer with ml199 and put it all behind us.
yeah we were at the restaraunt i am a big fan of his. not stalker type or anything but always wanted his autograph. I thought it would be kewl to get his autograph on the truck being a new truck. i had him sign the tailgate figuring worst case scenario a new tailgate is 500 bucks and i could take it off and save the autograph. almost had him do the hood but thought that was a little trickier to take of and buy a new one. not being prepared for it we had to take the picture with an iphone. me and my wife still have nextel so the cameras are very sub par. the hostess at the restaraunt actually took the picture for us with her phone and then texted it to us and emailed it. we took another picture with my wifes phone but it did not turn out any good. however this one was the best we got. he was pretty kewl real down to earth. his wife was with him and my wife was star struck kinda. his wife talked to my wife and explained they are just like us, which they are. after that we talked for a few and off they went before the crowd started to gather. he was really cool. and his new album is pretty good. we live in west palm beach and he has a house on jupiter island down here. so there are alot of sightings when he is in town.

My dh wouldn't care if God Himself showed up...NO WAY would anyone sign his brand new truck!!!! That being said....who was it!? It must be somebody you REALLY like a LOT!

Kelly, my DH would not let a soul sign his 13 year old vehicle. We're not even allowed to eat in that stupid Jeep! He ain't right when it somes to automobiles!!!

alright i put the pictures of the new toy on the palm beach county firefighters camping group page. it is on face book and open for everyone to see. sorry i do not have a photo bucket account. however my brother just informed me it was free. so i will probably get one here pretty soon. in the next couple of days. but i am real busy. so check them out there if you want to see the new truck. sorry for the inconvenience. but for those who asked for the pics they are there. i will hopefully have them on here in a couple of days
