Winter Dec 25 - Jan 26 Direct Incentives

I still need to verify if the $500 D23 or referral applies to CCV. But with MB and current incentives the PPP is $209 for 150 points.
$255 (base
-26
-20 (MB)
= $209

Even if you can get the $500 discount the PPP would be $206. I think I will wait for LSL.

I highly doubt D23 will count on CCV. It hasn't on any resort that isn't in active sales.

I am not as familiar with the referral terms. That seems to change.

I think MB works on basically anything at 150 points+

I could get it on VGF and there is no incentive at all
That is interesting and does make the math on a CCV purchase with MB a little worse the later in the year your UY is. By my math, with my Oct UY, since I'd be paying prorated dues from, let's say Feb. 1st, that makes it about $6/point more expensive. But, OTOH, they could very well go and raise CCV direct in February from $255/point to $260 or $265 per point.

Someone reported earlier that their guide said D23 Gold discount does not apply. And, I think the $500 referral has been discontinued - but, even if it were still around, this wouldn't qualify because the current CCV sale only applies to add-ons, and it is not available to new members.

I thought they did away with the referral discount? Isn't that why the forum topic for it is closed?
Dream it Forward is still listed on the DVC website. I honestly have no idea. It changes so frequently 🙈

Excellent point!

D23 does not apply to CCV according what my guide has sent to me.

What you see is what you get as far as on property goes. Others can answer about while on a cruise.
I emailed my guide and he said there were no additional incentives on property or cruise for BLT or CCV
I wouldn't consider resale BLT restricted, but yes you cant stay at RIV, CFW or VDH.

If you were spending closer to 3-5k for the trip I would say buy for sure! But at $20 a point if you wont need the points again in the future year after year, I would rent. 1180 is basically closing costs on a resale and not huge amount of money to risk on a rental. Or better yet, you could get points transferred to you so you have control of your reservation.
I currently only have 21pts in my BLT contract until August of 2028, which makes me think I'm going to be right back in this same spot next year or even sooner. If this was a one off trip, I'd rent, but I'm already so far behind on points, I don't see myself not adding more on soon anyways.
Direct BLT is nonsense and really shouldn't be considered.
Logically, I know you're right. But how I've justified it to myself: 1. I can buy fewer points and therefore spend less money overall since I already own points there. 2. I *know* I like BLT, so there's no risk in buying there. I worry about not liking CCV as much. And being in Canada, selling a contract is a huge pain from what I've seen.

BLT resale would be what I would do. The spread for BLT direct is rather large. How many points were you considering? Direct *could* make sense if you are needing 50 or less and use a decent credit card offer to buy it. Maybe BLT will get an incentive come February, but the base price could also go up.

It seems you are not booking soon. I feel you do have the 2 months for the resale process.

Indeed. If you look at the $ difference pp direct vs. resale, BCV and BLT have $140+ difference. The number is a little outdated but doesn't change the conclusion https://www.dvcresalemarket.com/buying/direct-vs-resale/

However I love BLT (not the pool for sure), I can't justify buying direct BLT.

There used to be more incentives. Plus the Dream if forward, D23 membership, Disney Visa credit card... Now the base PPP is higher... Once again I wish for another real "fire sale" like in 2023 summer

What sort of accommodations do you usually stay in at BLT? I know you said you're looking for points for your 2026 Christmas trip, but is that a typical time of year you'll use your points or is this a one off thing?

I ask for a couple of reasons. One, preferred/lake view rooms at BLT tend to be pretty easy much of the year to book at the 7-month mark. And, resort view rooms, if you own there, can be a little difficult well before the 7-month mark because there are so few of them. But, December is a tough year at any resort unless you own there, so if regular Christmas stays are in the plan, owning there probably does make more sense than purchasing points elsewhere to use there. That said, even if you got direct BLT points loaded to your account today, my guess is that the resort view rooms are already being walked for December 2026. But, you'd have a better chance if you got them loaded now than if you need to wait for the resale process.

That said, I'm with @VGCgroupie and @PlutoNotPlanet, BLT direct at $275/point with no incentives whatsoever is a pretty steep price to pay. I guess if all you need is 25 or 50 points, maybe?

They no longer give a $500 referral credit for new buyers. It stopped months ago.
