I'm thinking of leaving my car at home instead of driving it out to Denver International Airport, and having it sit in an off-site parking lot for a week. I'm considering taking the Super Shuttle from my home out to DIA. With a one-way trip fee of around $23, what is an appropriate tip for the driver. I know how to tip bellmen, mousekeepers, valets....but as far as drivers go, I'm clueless.

HELP! ;) :D

Hey Steve...I am clueless about the shuttle driver...Hmmm probably just a couple of dollars. I do tip the driver who picked me up at the airport $5 each way, but he never let me touch a bag. Walked it right into the hotel lobby, I was impressed, so I tipped accordingly. Using him again this upcoming trip too!

I don't really know Steve.

My rule of thumb is 15-20% (usually 20% unless I'm less than impressed!) and/or $1/bag. A little more if they're cute ;) and a little less if they're non-friendly.

I think you have a good idea about your car though. :)

I never thought about the 20% rule for non-restaurant tipping. I'll have to think about that. I ususlly tip the Mears bus driver one or two dollars a bag, same for the bellman and daily room maidservice. I'm going to have to really think about the 20% rule. I don't see why excellent service shouldn't be rewarded in kind.

I'm usually pretty sensitive when it comes to tipping service people, probably because I was in the industry for a long time when I was younger, and I don't want to under-tip. Thanks for the ideas.

LOL about tipping a person extra if they're cute, Tia. I've been known to do that myself. Particularly if they flirt.

Flirting is good! ;) especially since I'm traveling solo! ;)

Bad Tia! hehehehe me too!
For TTC, I usually tip 10% of the total bill each way. Just in case the same driver doesn't pick up. No one here will bring us to the airport. Bad Famaily! (They don't mind dropping off, but they hate picking up!)
