Tipping Question

I always leave a tip for housekeeping because their job is really hard…
Those mattresses are heavy and don’t even get started on cleaning those cabins with the bunk beds… Ask yourself if you could / would want that job and then consider leaving a thank you .

I’d much rather give a $5 tip to someone who is cleaning the bed & bathroom I’m using than give an extra $5 to a server because I ordered an expensive steak instead of plain pasta.
I don’t disagree at all. Our current tipping culture is broken, but to fix it Disney needs to turn all table service staff to non tipped positions

We tend to tip $5/day and leave it daily (you may have different housekeepers during your stay). I always write a note that says “thank you” that I leave with the money so they know it’s for them. We really appreciate coming back to a made bed and new towels.
My mind was changed by an earlier thread to do it this way. I used to tip only when I checked out, $3-$5 per day I was there. Ever since, you know, a lot of times housekeeping is done only a couple of times a week if at all. I want to tip if the room was serviced, but not at all if it's not. This way the person doing the service gets the tip too.

Everyone is a big tipper on the internet.

For the record I do not tip housekeeping. For one thing, I'm a DVC member staying on points so I don't get housekeeping most of my stay. For another, my annual dues pay their salaries directly.
