How much do you guys tip mousekeeping???
We are two pretty tidy adults if that makes any difference.
thanks!!!

:woohoo:

You know, I don't really have an answer. I heard somewhere that a dollar per person per day is respectable. But if anyone has more insight, I'd love to hear it, too!:confused3

The country standard (for those who choose to tip mousekeeping/housekeeing) is $1. per person, per day, left daily as the mousekeeper can change from day to day.

I pre-make special envelopes and I leave them on the bathroom mirror! :thumbsup2

Yes we leave a dollar per person a day.
I think it is more fun for us than for mousekeeping... decorating the envelopes and leaving little notes for them.:)

We're two adults, I do tidy the room before we leave for the day, so it isn't sloppy, just needs usual maid service. We leave a $5 each day. Part of my pre-trip planning is tucking enough of these away, then when we arrive I put them in the safe. Each morning I put one, attached to a thank you sticky note to the mousekeeper on the desk. It's easy, and no scrambling around for $$.

We do the same thing and put money aside for this ahead of time. We always leave $1 per person per day. There are 5 of us and I make sure everything is pretty good before leaving the room.

During our last trip we left $5.00/day. There are 4 of us, and we are pretty neat and tidy folks.

we clean up after ourselves every day. It helps to make sure things dont dissapear.

I lsomewhat make the bed, and leave any change + $1-3 depending on what i have on the corner of the bed.

Less than $5.00 a day.

we left $5/day (2 adults) but I doubt mousekeeping considered us tidy. I put the $ and a thank you scribble near a towel animal that was present when we checked in. Lo and Behold, we had a menagerie of towel animals when we returned that afternoon. It was a blast!

Just got back from Pop on 10/30, we left $5.00 per day. When we returned to our room there were many towel animals on the entertainment center or bed. They also arranged my Grandson's blanket and stuffed animals on the bed turned the tv on(cartoons) so when we arrived in our room the animals were sitting up or laying with their paws crossed watching cartoons. He got a kick out of it.:)

Yup. $5 per day is almost a guarantee of towel animals. At our last stay our maid would always arrange our DD's stuffed animals on the window sill like they were waiting for them. They work hard for their money and probably don't get much of a wage. So $5 or even $10 a day (Total, not per person) seems reasonable. I would be ashamed of a $1 tip, and probably a little concerned about my toothbrush being used to clean the toilet.

We tip $5 a day for just the 2 of us.
$8 when we are 4.
I am the type of person that cleans up before mousekeeping:confused3

So do most people leave their tip every day? I used to just give the whole tip for our stay at the end.... What do you write on the envelopes?
Thanks!
Lynn

It's not like a cruise where you have the same staff taking care of your needs your entire stay. Because housekeepers can change from day to day, we tip every day.

Just returned 10/27, we tipped $3/day for two tidy adults. We received numerous towel animals and lots of extra toiletries. I always make up envelopes ahead of time and leave it on the sink each morning. We definitely had a different mousekeeper one day of our stay, so I suggest leaving the tip daily, not just at the end of your stay.

I usually make up envelopes before I leave that say "Mousekeeping-thank you for making our room magical-from xx family" & tip them a dollar per person in the room... if we are left towel animals they are left more! :)
