Hi all! It's just occurring to us that we are unsure how to tip at the specialty restaurants. I recently watched a vlog that asserted that the gratuity is included in the prices of $40 pp Palo and $125 pp at Remy. I was thinking we would be tipping at least 20% on top of the fees ($8 pp at Palo and $25 pp at Remy). I can't seem to find any specific info on the website regarding this, which is odd. The Senses Spa tipping info is very clear, as is the daily charge for gratuities on our account for our cabin attendant and regular dining servers. We would really appreciate some expert guidance as this is our first cruise on DCL and we want to get this right! We leave tomorrow for a Saturday cruise! So excited!

DCL is not forthcoming regarding gratuities in Remy/Palo. Time was a small portion of the upcharge was a gratuity. But in recent years (about 4-5 years now), they, basically, just say "tipping is up to you", with no acknowledgement of any portion of the upcharge being used as such.

We've always tipped "additionally" to the upcharge. But, as with all such things, tips are really up to you. What's worth $20 to one person, may be worth $100 to another. And both are correct.

We tipped $20 at brunch in Nov. - thinking that on shore it would be $100 meal. Since the wine had a gratuity added, we felt that was a fair tip.

You will get a million different responses, anywhere from it is included to we tip $50 a person. It is really up to you. We normally tip $10 a person at Palo and have not done Remy in a very long time, but would probably tip $25 a person.

Do you mean pp or for 2 of you?

Yes this is what we were thinking exactly! Appreciate your help.

Thanks for the help! Glad I'm not the only one who can't find a straight answer!

For brunch, for 2 guests, we usually leave a 40$ tip in total.

We do between $40-$50 at Palo.
When we have our free Platinum at Palo we do $50.

We have had phenomenal server and dining experiences at Palo and have no problem tipping 20-30 dollars per diner.

It is difficult to figure out a tip based on the bill alone, as I would expect a meal at a nice land restaurant the equivalent of Palo to cost more than $40 per person.

I suggest figuring out what you are comfortable with ahead of time and go with that.
