We will be in WDW in 25 days (yipee!) and I am just trying to finalize a few things. I was reading on another thread that the castle lighting is at 6:30, I had thought it was 5:45. We have dinner at Narcoossee's on our MK day. I had planned on leaving to change for dinner and then coming back to MK to see the castle lights. If the lights don't come on until 6:30 do you think we should make our ADR at Narcoossee's for 7:50 (taking the monorail)?

On a related note, I've seen pictures of the Christmas castle lights but haven't seen them in person. If my well planned plans go off plan:laughing: is it the end of the world if we don't see them in person?

You don't have to be there during the lighting ceremony to see the lights.

Once the lights are turned on, they STAY on throughout the evening (except during parts of Wishes.)

Castle lighting was at 6:30 on Saturday and Sunday. Truthfully we paid it no attention, just noticed that the "icy lights'were on around 6:45. Mentioned it to a vendor and she was like "wow, they weren't lit a few minutes ago.

If they intend to keep the 6:30pm lighting on the nights of the party, they will have a lot more difficulty getting the non-Party-goers to exit the park by 7pm.

Also, the evenings will be getting darker earlier as time goes by, but it is still a bit light at 6pm right now.

Its possible that they may perform the ceremony earlier as the evenings darken sooner.

The actual lighting show isn't a big deal. The lights will be on the rest of the night and cam be seen anytime. They are spectacular and shouldn't be missed but the ceremony isn't as big a deal as the lights themselves.

I understand that the lights will be lit the whole night, however if we leave before the lighting we probably won't be back at night. I guess what I'm trying to get at is if we don't see them at all should we be crushed?

Here's a crazy idea, but how about after dinner you just ride the monorail loop around to MK but stay on it to get back to GF. You won't get an up close look of the castle, but you'll get some pretty good views - it really is something to see, even in passing! :goodvibes

Oooohhhh... I like it! A definate plan B! If MK closes at 8:00 that night how late do all the lights stay on?

I thought it was 5:45 also but it was at 6:30 last night. I think the little performance adds something to the lights.
