Timeshare occupancy limits?

Just how enforced, in general, are occupancy limits?

If we have our littlest DD in a sleeping bag, bringing total in room to 5, would anyone really know or care?

Has anyone ever had any trouble? We're not planning on using timeshare amenities such as pool, etc. Just need a cost effective place for us to sleep and cook meals.

I though I had answer it...

anyway it depends upon the resort.

Marriott are big - king bed, and queen sleeper sofa. Lots of room....

but CWR are fairly small in some of their 1-bedroom - full bed, and full sleeper sofa in the tiny livingroom - very small kitchen - no stove - just an oven top...

I understand the size of the timeshare. What I was hoping for was an answer to how strict offsite timeshares (not DVC) are about sticking to the posted occupancy limit.

In other words, if we rent a 1BR, occ. limit 4, I know there'll only be bedding for 4 people, but if a kid stays in a sleeping bag, making it a family of 2 adults/3 kids in the 1BR, in general, does the timeshare management care about that or enforce the policy in any way?

Marriott did not seem too.

but Sheraton and Orange Lake say at check in they would enforce it....

so again it just depends.

We don't have one reserved yet. We just have a ressie at a suite hotel that sleeps 6.

We will only have a timeshare if a last minute deal opens up right around the time that we go (then we can cancel the hotel w/o penalty).

I just wanted to know if it would be an option for us if only a 1BR opens up. Thanks!

skyauction again has some timeshares....

they have changed the rules - but if you know you are going - shouldn't be a problem.

My impression (based on the two I've stayed at) is that they would never know. Even if you used the pool, etc. they would never be able to keep track of which size unit you were in, etc. The only issue would be to not bring in the whole crew when you check in or out.

I guess we could debate the ethical issue....but what is it costing the timeshare to have a child in a sleeping bag? THe cost of the water for her shower?
