Time For A New AFO (leg brace)?

My leg brace calf strap is coming off from the brace, and the brace is starting to crack badly along the sides from all of the walking I've been doing around my mom's house, and our house as well as several other places that require short-distance walking like at restaurants. Is this enough to say to the orthotist person that I need a new leg brace? We got an appointment on Friday with him to see what can be done about it. I've had my current leg brace since 2002, and it's definitely showing its age.

This will be the second time I've had to replace the calf strap. But, now with the way that the brace is cracking. I'm wondering if I should get my foot remolded for a new brace.

i would think if your brace is cracking you are not getting the support you need. i think for your safety you need a new brace i know my ds9 gets his changed every 10-12months but only because he's a growing boy.
