Timandlesley’s how to win a dream in 10 days 11/15 NEW PTR UP!! pg. 94 has link!!!

Another great update!!!

Lauren hair looks adorable up!!!

Looks like you had a blast at Ohanas

Bummer about no Fast passes, but like you said, you were in Disney and that is all that matters:)

How scary losing Lauren for a few minutes....SO glad everything turned out okay:goodvibes

What a sweet boy Luke is, love picture of them hugging on the boat:goodvibes

Great update. We are going to LTT for lunch in Aug and that cake will definitely be on our radar:banana: So sorry about losing Lauren :scared1: Glad all turned out well. I'm sure you could still write to Disney and mention the date and time and where you were and they may be able to figure out who was working in the area. Even if they don't it would be nice to let them know what great staff they have. Can't believe you missed FP by so few. Keep up the good work. I think Tim's "feelings" are rubbing off on you.:yay:

Wonderful update!! It brought tears to my eyes to think that you lost Lauren, even for a few minutes. This has to be a parents worst nightmare. Luke is so sweet, he really must love his little sis.

Loving the trip report!!! So glad to hear everything turned out o.k. Can't wait for more!popcorn::

OH MY GOSH! I literally have SERIOUS tears in my eyes....Luke just killed me there. What a sweet brother...and such a terrifying few minutes...I'm so glad it was resolved quickly. But Luke holding her on the boat is the most precious thing I've ever seen!
And...I'm gonna have to try Liberty Tree Tavern next time...I thought it was all a set family style menu (like the platter at Whispering Canyon), but it looks YUMMY!!!

loving the trip report. your kids are so adorable. :goodvibes i've been glued to my seat for the last hour reading this. :surfweb: so scary about lauren getting lost. i know if something like that had happened to me when i was younger i would have been just as freaked out as she was. so glad you found her though.

subscribing.:yay:

Lesley,

Great MK day. The pot roast does look good, and I forgot that you can order from a regular menu for lunch. Those portions definitely look large enough to share. The dessert looks so good too.

Scary about Lauren, hopefully she stays close to you the rest of the trip. This truly is very stressful for parents. The pictures with Luke are priceless.

My DD, middle child, was our "lost one". Started when she was 4, she jumped on an elevator and it closed before I could get on with DS in stroller. Talk about helpless! We were in a downtown parking structure, so made it pretty frightening.:scared1: Many other experiences for her, the other two kids were never , thankfully, that I can remember.:confused3

Happy 4th of July, have a great weekend!

Gosh, I am so glad she was found quickly. Yikes, scary~

Hey Leslie,
It looks like you had a great trip and made lots of great memories.

Too bad you missed the Dream Squad by just a few people. I know you must have been disappointed.

They wouldn't let Lauren drive the cars on Indy Speedway?? I'm surprised b/c when my youngest son was 3 he wasn't quite tall enough to ride Thunder Mtn (some cast members let him ride but others on the same trip said he wasn't tall enough) yet but I have pictures of him driving my dh on the Indy cars.

I had chills reading about when you couldn't find Lauren. That must have been a nightmare for all of you. Poor Luke. He is just so sweet. The picture of him holding on to her on the boat is just priceless.

I might just have to try that desert at LTT.. YUM!!
Thanks for sharing.
You know, I didn't even ask about Lauren driving, but if you look at that picture of us in the car together, I don't know how the heck she would even be able to see over the wheel.
Lesley

I just recently joined the DisBoards about a month ago and I am hooked!!!!! I am a Disney Fanatic, but my DF has never been and I am so excited to return to the world and see him experience it for the first time on our honeymoon August 9th-17th!:bride:

Your trip report is amazing!!! I am defiantely subcribing and am going to go back and read your previous reports! You have a breathtakingly beautiful family that is easy to fall in love with!!! :lovestruc

~ Those princesses were really pretty, especially Ariel...and who cares if you seemed like you were attracted to them....you can't help but falling in love with all of the magic of disney. Laurens sparkely Jasmin comment is so cute

~ Lauren is going to grow up to be a model or an actress...or maybe even a Disney princessprincess: She just loves that camera

~ I was so happy to see that you guys ran into Mulan! She is someone that I have never seen before, so it makes mereally excited to hopefully get a chance to run into her when we are there....and she is so pretty!

~I absolutely love the fact that the kids had been given their own money to spend while in the world. It really teaches thema sense of responsability and it shows that you guys are really amazing parents:thumbsup2

~The fact that someone pooped themselves in line is kind of gross! That would have made me sick to my stomach:sick: I just hope it was a kid and not an adult:lmao: ....seriously though...that parent should have had the respect to take their child off the line and change them

~ Tim falling asleep on the bus was too funny. I love that the women sitting next to him were laughing and put him in his place:rotfl2:

~ I was debating on where to eat on our last lunch before going home and you totaly made up my mind about liberty tree...also good to know that the deluxe dining is worth it!

~ Tims run for the bus is hillarious:lmao: I love his screams of panic as he runs. I also love his ride around the WCC...we are eating there on this trip. My DF is very muchy like Tim....he is a big goof ball:goofy: and I think he will love that place.

~Lauren gettin lost scared me half to death:eek: It reminded me so much of my little sister when she was younger and I really just felt for poor little Luke. I have been in his position many many times when my little sister used to run off and you poor parents...OMG!!!! What that must feel like. It brought tears to my eyes when Luke was screaming and I just completley lost it when I saw him hanging on to her for dear life...so precious:hug

I can't wait for more~~~~~~I'm hooked!!!!!!!1
Welcome welcome welcome to the Disboards and our TR, thanks for the detailed post, glad you are enjoying this so far. Congrats on your upcoming wedding, I wish you the best of luck. I checked out your pics on your Pre TR and you guys are a ver ycute couple.
Lesley

WOW, SCARY indeed:eek: A quick glance
away from them and Gone! It happens so
easily! Have you heard about those thingies
you put in their shoes for identification?
Glad it all turned out ok and you got your
lauren back safe and sound:hug:
That gooey coffee cake looks to die for.
Wish I was going just to try that!! Nothin
better then a wonderful dessert to add to
the magic!!! Your TR is great as always!
Keep it coming, I'll be a waitin:surfweb:
I have heard of those shoe thingies, I think I got it once in the allears newsletter, may have to get those for her before our next trip. Thanks for the reminder!
Lesley

Lesley,

Another great installment!! This is the morning--Friday, right?--that I saw Tim as we were all hurrying in through the MK gates. He had Lauren with him, and they looked like they were running for a stroller. I would have stopped him to say "hi," but I knew he was probably hurrying just as much as we were to get in through security and through the gates. That morning it was just Tom, Megs, and I--we headed actually back through FL--we always seem to go in the opposite directions!! ;o) Sorry about the FP--if you saw my update yesterday, you saw how the same thing basically happened to us too!! UGH!! It is hard not to get a little upset when you are that close, and you end up with no dream!!! So sorry about losing Lauren for those few moments--I'm sure it did feel like a lifetime for all of you! LOVE the pics of the kids afterwards though!! PRICELESS!!!! You have me so thinking about the deluxe dining for next time----do you get a specific number of TS credits each day? Looking forward to the next update!
that's so funny you saw them that morning. Deluxe dining ROCKS. You get 3 meals per day per person and they can be sit down or counterservice whatever you want, I just loved the flexibility. PLUS you get 2 snack credits per person per day, it is GREAT!
Lesley

Ok next time Tim is coming with us to find the dream team!!! WE didn't see them once the whole week (well we saw one guy standing in front of pooh but wasn't giving anything away yet) He does seem to have a sense doesn't he??

I was so scared for you reading the whole Lauren thing.. YOUR HEART must have been out of your chest that whole time! That is SUCH a scary feeling. Sounds like the CM's did I great job.. Poor Lauren must have been so scared too, LOVE that picture of her and LUKE , what a GREAT BIG brother!!!

oohh is this your date night?? Can't Wait for more!!!
That is so funny, maybe I should rent him out. Yes, date night up ahead, stay tuned!
Lesley

That is AWESOME Nicole, why didn't i think of that, luckily that is what my leg looks like now, I thought that sucker would never go away!

Hello everyone! Holy Moly 4 pages of comments, loosing Lauren sure did bring out the emmotions, I know it did for us. Thanks so much to each of you for caring for our family so much and crying along with us, it really was a horrific experience but so glad we FOUND HER!!!! I responded to those of you with questions but appreciated every single post, thank you so much for reading, sure does make it worth writing. Such fun! We're looking into renting BWV points for next June's trip, so if anyone knows anyone selling points send them my way!
We leave to go to Gatlinburg with Tim's family Sunday-Thursday of this week so a little break is coming up I'll try to get one more update up before we leave. So stay tunedpopcorn::
HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY EVERYONE! We're off to my parents house and hope it stops raining long enough for some fireworks!:cheer2:
Lesley

Pot Roast BETTER than PTC?!?! I MUST give that a try! We've never eaten at LTT, so I'll add that to our 'to-eats' for next Spring.

So scary to not see your little girl! It's frightning how quickly it happens, too.:scared1:

Have a great holiday weekend!

Found your trip report a couple of days ago and have been reading it in my spare time (and not so spare time :rolleyes1 ) since! I discovered the dis boards after our June trip and am now addicted. Have you tried posting on the boards that you want to rent points for your trip next year? We did that for our trip that is coming up this month. I know you are thinking about BWV but have you considered BCV? I'll bet your kiddos would love SAB. You can't use it unless you stay at YC, BC, or BCV. No pool hopping allowed. Just a thought because it's just across the lake from BWV and you could still go over and enjoy the boardwalk!

Hi Lesley,
Great report it is keeping me very entertained I know how you feel about Lauren last saturday when I was at my cousins block party my little 2.7 year old ran away with the other kids when I finally caught up he was nowhere in sight and it was pitch black out when I spotted my 6 year old son I asked him where his brother was and he said oh he was never with us I almost died and I was running around the street in the pitch black stopping everyone finally I found him with my daughter dancing with the DJ I don't even know how he got that far up the street that fast, it was a very bad experience I needed a tall drink afterwards. Today I took my DS6 and DD4 to see Kit Kitteridge American girl And it takes place in Cinn Ohio I thought of you. Well have a fun trip can't wait to read more.

You should check out the dvc club rentals right here on the diz,
they say its much cheaper then renting directly from disney. The
location is so convenient to the studios and epcot. We stayed at
the Swan once and just loved the convenience..you just hop the
boat to those parks just like WL to magic kingdom!!

You would also get a nice teachers discount at the Swan/Dolphin, although I have a feeling you would rather stay at a Disney owned resort. Linda :)

I just totally realized looking back at my journal that I left out the sweetest thing that Luke said after Lauren was lost. He said “ Mommy, I would have stayed there all day and all night looking for her, my life just isn’t complete without her!” Had to put that in because when he said it my heart just melted.
So back to the update………….. tonight was THE night, we had planned for Tim and I to go out just the two of us for ages and the night was finally here, we were so excited. We had gathered some FP’s from our morning at MK for our night out and were ready to put the kids in childcare and head out, the kids were excited about their night.
I need to preface this by saying originally our reservation was for the Neverland club, I selected it because it looked cool and it was on the monorail so our travel time would be less and we could spend more time in the parks. Well, Tim had a conversation with a CM (big surprise: ) a few days earlier who also worked part time in the WL Cubs Den, she totally convinced us to switch based on their low ratios, etc. We showed it to the kids and they were thrilled about the switch.
We took them to Cubs Den around 4:30:
DSC01242Small.jpg

Luke was thrilled they had a Wii:
DSC01243Small.jpg

It was just them and two other kids and like 5 staff members, yes, we had made the right choice.
We headed to the boat dock, here are Tim and I ALONE waiting on the boat to MK:
DSC01244Small.jpg

It was SUCH a good feeling taking that boat ride, just relaxed just the two of us.
We stopped to take a photo in front of the castle, a HORRIBLE picture of me, but I’ll put it in because it’s the whole idea of just the two of us and Tim looks good :
DSC01245Small.jpg

We headed to tomorrowland to use our FP’s from Buzz and Space Mtn. we had grabbed that morning for our night out (who needed those dream FP’s huh!?!)
On our way to tomorrowland there was this elderly couple on scooters. Tim made a comment to the man “better slow down or I’ll have to give you guys a ticket”. The man said “well, if you did that would you have to put her in jail overnight?” Tim said “no” with a smile. Then the guy was like “I’ll pay you if you will take her” “I’ve got 50 dollars for you to take her off my hands, if that’s not enough I’ll go to the ATM and get out more”. It was so sad. Tim said “She looks pretty nice to me, I’ll take her” and the guy was like “seriously, take her!”. I looked at this poor old lady and she looked so sad, it was awful. Tim and I walked away feeling so bad for her, it was terrible!!!!
We actually took a moment to shop around in Tomorrowland, it was SO nice. Here is a pic I took of Tim, I thought it was so cool to turn the corner and see him having time to actually read in a gift shop, this NEVER happens (those of you who travel to Disney without kids, you just wait ; ) :

DSC01247Small.jpg

Then we headed to Buzz, here we are in line:
DSC01248Small.jpg

IT WAS ON!!!!!!! We talked wager in the line, we take this very seriously : ) We went from extreme wagering (we just won’t go there in this TR) to whoever lost had to buy the drinks that night, sounded fair. It was go time:
DSC01249Small.jpg

The first few rooms I was actually beating Tim, I WAS SO EXCITED. Then the ride got stuck and Tim found some button, I looked over and his score was going nuts, I WAS BUMMED!
Here are the results. Lesley’s score (soooo lame):
DSC01253Small.jpg

Tim’s score:
DSC01251Small.jpg

I couldn’t believe it!!!
Here is our ride photo, boy we look intense : )
DSC01255Small.jpg

Looks like I’d be buying the drinks tonight : (
From there we moved on to Big Thunder Mtn. Railroad to use FP’s we had collected earlier in the day. (we used all 4 of our tickets to gather FP’s for the evening and since only 2 of us were going out we got double the FP’s, made it easy to have a great night!).
Here we are on the ride:
DSC01261Small.jpg

We were in the front car, it was such a great ride. Again, we were just enjoying strolling through lines, holding hands, having time to think and not have to worry about children’s needs. We love our kids dearly but this alone time ROCKED!
Earlier in the day I had BEGGED Tim to get FP’s for Splash Mtn. for our night out but he refused saying he didn’t want to get wet on our night out. Well he disappeared for a moment and came back and had them in his hand. GOTTA LOVE HIM! So I was thrilled to be headed to Splash Mtn, MY FAVORITE MK RIDE! As we waited in line I had time to look around and notice things I normally don’t have time with the kids to stop and notice. Like this cool weather vane:
DSC01264Small.jpg

I also had time to notice that the GUM WAS REMOVED I am happy to report, Disney must have gotten on that and there was no longer nasty gum on the wooden beams above, YEAH!
Here was a happy Lesley on the ride:
DSC01265Small.jpg

It was so funny, after the first hill we got NAILED by the people coming down the hill. Here is a not so happy Tim all wet on his date night (this one always makes me laugh):
DSC01266Small.jpg

Tim and I think it’s funny that the only view you ever get of the bear on that ride is his hind end. Here is Tim trying to point at one of the scenes with the bears rear but it is kinda dark:
DSC01267Small.jpg

A saying to live by:

Our ride photo:
DSC01270Small-1.jpg

After that it was getting to be about an hour before we needed to get the kids (BOY does time fly when you are having fun). So we decided we needed to eat before we got them. Before we could eat I had promised Luke a favorite treat of ours, caramel corn. I headed to Frontierland’s shop that had “Caramel Corn/Funnel Cakes” on the sign. When I FINALLY got to the front after a super long wait the lady said they no longer sell caramel corn. BUMMER!!! I asked here if there was anywhere in the MK I could get some, she said no. I couldn’t believe it, that was always a favorite of mine! Oh well, We headed to Casey’s for a hot dog dinner and Tim went in line and I got a table. He called me on my cell and said “do you just want to go back to the WL and get some pizza and relax and eat them there?” (the line was long at Casey’s). I said sure and we headed back for the boat.
We got the yummy (they really are good!) flatbread pizzas from Roaring forks and had a nice relaxing meal in the dark at the tables by the pool at the WL. We went and picked up the kids. They were super happy and had a good evening.
We told them we would take them swimming, so we took them up to the room and we all got our suits on.
Since I was the one to get drinks, when we got back down to the pool (it was like 9:15 at this point) Well…………. I headed to the bar and was SOOOOOOOOOO bummed, it was closed!!!!! What!?!?! I wanted my adult beverages by the pool. I couldn’t believe it. Well Tim looked at me and said “you have to go get the drinks remember”. I know, I know, what to do what to do. I know you can always go into Artist Point at the bar and get drinks but I was in my swim suit with no shoes. What to do what to do……………………… I decided to see what Roaring Forks (the food court) had. I went in there and was thrilled to see they had little bottles of wine and bottles of beer, they even had little fancy plastic wine glasses, so Lesley was happy again.
We enjoyed drinks in the hot tub with the kids after they swam and it was a nice ending to our evening.

Great report so far. Your pics are great and the "On Our Next Episode..." TVs are such a cool idea. Great job. :thumbsup2 Have fun in Gatlinburg!

what a fun date night! glad to know you weren't disappointed in the childcare at disney. i have friends that are iffy about leaving their DS with strangers and i've been trying to convince them that i'm sure disney childcare is top notch.

Tim and I think it’s funny that the only view you ever get of the bear on that ride is his hind end.

we noticed this too! we always have an immature giggle fest when riding this because some of the poses that the bear is in are just too suggestive!!! :rotfl2:
