Tim and Lesley Year of Million Compromises/TONS pics- 8/5 help me pg. 164!!!

I just love reading your trip report! I was on vacation last week and didn't have internet connection. I didn't realize how addicted I am to the Dis. Very cool about the extra dreams! It looks like Lauren had such a fun time at the BBB. :cutie:

OMG Lesley! I don't even want to know where you got all of that comeback stuff. That's awesome!!

Here's a pic of that shirt. My DH said a good friend of his (who is also a Disney freak) got it for him. So we really don't know where it came from!?

Pretty cool, eh?

Loving the TR! So excited for Tim with his many dreams!

WOW!! Tim is a LUCKY man!! THREE DREAMS?? That is outstanding....now if you tell us later he won the castle stay.....:wizard:

And Lesley I am with you on the 54 dollar balls. Only my response was not "ummmm no thank you..." it was "DO I LOOK STUPID TO YOU????" :rotfl:

I really like reading your TR. I have several hand holding pics of my girls at WDW, and like you, realize how special those pics really are.

I think it is great that you got to meet some DIS friends!!! I love my friends from the DIS. They have become some of my best friends IRL.

Keep on with the TR!! :3dglasses

i may be a sox fan and loving our lead in the al east but that does not mean i do not truly enjoy reading of the adventures you had in disney!! love your writing and your pictures :cutie: Can not wait for more!

So glad you are enjoying the TR so far. I don't know if anyone gave him funny looks, he didn't wait for me to find out :rotfl: however I know Tim wouldn't care if they did ;) . You know, I thought astro orbiter was cool, I'd do it without kids, the view is incredible, I wouldn't wait longer than 20 min. for it though.
Lesley

Thanks for replying...and so quickly, too! Good for him! I wouldn't care if people gave me looks either. I went on it 2 trips ago and was surprised to feel how fast it actually went. Hopefully since I'm going in September this year (my 1st time during value season), I'll be able to get on with little or no wait. I know you're a teacher and can't go during the school year, but in the past have you ever gone in September? I am not really sure what to expect. :confused3

Another great installment! WOW! Tim is one lucky duck! I have a good friend and we always joke that he has a horseshoe surgically implanted (if you catch my drift)...looks like Tim's got one as well!! NOT FAIR!!! Anyway, keep 'em coming! Loving it!

Don't worry, you can't be a born and breed sox fan and not own 5 rear view mirrors-especially in September. But the Yanks will always own THE BIGGEST CHOKE IN PROFESSIONAL SPORTS EVER!!!!!!!!!!!! Can you say October 2004- ALCS Yanks 3 games-Boston 0. ALCS Champs- the Boston Red SOx!:cool1:

My DH, DS and I all wore are BoSox hats in the world this past May ( DD had to wear her princess hat). We were surrounded by Red Sox Nation at least 8-1 compared to Yanks!:thumbsup2

Loving your TR!

Ok....back to it then! Tim, or should I say "DreamFinder" ?...you're a lucky man ya know --for the dreams AND having a wife who writes such AWESOME trip reports! I think it's time for a SONG! C'mon, I'm sure it would please your entire audience here in TimandLesley T/R world.

Love this installment! Very good pics - tell Luke he did a great job with the one of you and Tim. I absolutely "awwww'd" over the photo of your kids walking away holding hands; I know that's one of those memories you'll bring up 30 years from now when they're all grown up!

Go Yanks - DH is a die-hard fan and we hope to go in the next few years to a home game at NY. Check out the Creative DISigns forum (or I can PM/e-mail) ... I printed off a transfer for a Disney Yankee shirt that got us into a "discussion" with another person who was wearing an "I hate Yankees" hat. Darned if we didn't run into him all over the park that day! :confused3

I can't believe those balls cost 54$. That's insane. Glad my son didn't put me in the position of buying one. It's so hard to say no.
Loving your report. Hoping to start planning our next trip soonish and want to do it every time I read one of your installments.

We have two of those balls, which are jokes. However, they did not cost that much for the small ones. We bought the smallest size.

you are welcome! We've never been in September, I'm a teacher so we always go in the summer, I bet the crowds are much lighter in Sept. than they are when we go in June!!!

He is a lucky duck isn't he!!! It's funny, we always joke about him NOT having good luck, but for some reason this year in Disney he was QUITE lucky!!

So glad you enjoyed it. I told Luke he did well with the pic, he was so proud of himself. Oh yes, I have a few of the kids holding hands like that, they always go up in frames!I'll tell Tim about the Yankee shirt design

Another great post! Looks like Lauren was a beautiful little princess: !! Can't wait till I take my DD there in Sept!

  Question for you - I noticed that you all were wearing CROCS. Can I ask a stupid question - but did you have the actual CROCS or where they a store knock-off? I just wondered if the kids shoes were the same quality...I've heard mixed reports! Thanks for any opinion you may have!

Ours are the "real deal" tried the store knock offs for luke and he got terrible blisters and scabs on his feet, the real things worked wonders for us, I highly recommend them!!! :thumbsup2

O.K., so when we left off we had gotten back from the Magic Kingdom late and just had time to jump in the shower and get ready for dinner and head back out. We got back to the bus stop by 5:30 in order to get to Epcot in time for our 6:25 LeCellier Reservation, couldn’t miss this one!!! Lauren had bumped her head by walking around with her pirate telescope she bought with her money and running right into the wall so you will see her with a bandaid on her head in a couple photo’s this night. She hadn’t napped this day but seemed great at the bus stop, I was worried the dinner at LeCellier would be ruined if she was fussy. Well, as we were sitting on the bus (Lauren ALWAYS sat on my lap on the bus, doesn’t matter if a seat was available, she always ended up on my lap) and Lauren was on my lap as usual, and she went limp all of a sudden, I couldn’t believe it, SHE WAS ASLEEP!!!
Photo1Small-3.jpg

(nice bandaid huh, she wouldn’t let me take it off!!!)
So I held our sleeping beauty all the way to Epcot, as I was carrying her off the bus the bus driver said “It’s too early for sleeping” On the bright side I was thinking, well this sure will be a peaceful meal!!! We got the stroller and headed over to LeCellier. The night was BEAUTIFUL again (we sure did luck out weather wise this trip). Lauren didn’t wake up at all during the stroller transfer. Here is a pic I can use to black mail her later in life:
Photo2Small-3.jpg

As we checked in for dinner we enjoyed the gorgeous area around LeCellier.

Luke spotted Kanai and Koda (spelling ? ) from Brother Bear and he was EXCITED. So we ran and got in line for them. When we were in the middle of the line Tim motioned because our table was ready, I told him we weren’t getting out of line because Luke was SOOO excited and I knew he’d be devastated if we got out of line at this point, we were so close. So we stayed for the bears and Tim and sleeping beauty headed inside the restaurant to get our table.
Here are our shots with the bears:
Photo5Small-4.jpg

Photo6Small-4.jpg

After this Luke and I headed inside to find Tim and Lauren. I was immediately taken back by the restaurant, it really was pretty, I was excited about the meal.
Tim and I decided to order drinks. He got the Happiest Celebration on Earth Glo-tini:
Photo11Small-3.jpg

I got a nice glass of wine that they had paired with my steak on the menu (name escapes me now but it was tasty):
Photo17Small-3.jpg

We took the glo-tini cube out of Tim’s drink and let Luke have some fun with it (blurry but you get the idea):
Photo12Small-3.jpg

We enjoyed the breadsticks they brought to the table but our quick favorite was the yummy pretzel bread, OH MY GOSH they were soooooo good. Our waitress was great and said if we had a favorite to let her know and she would refill it with that, well needless to say we had a few pretzel refills, YUM! Luke was into them too:
Photo9Small-4.jpg

We both ordered the potato soup, I had read from people on the Dis how awesome it was but recently the reviews seemed to be not so thrilled by it so I was curious, all I can say is Y-U-M!!!! This stuff is DELICIOUS!!! We both scrapped our bowls:
Photo10Small-3.jpg

For main entrees Tim got the strip steak w/ Yukon potatoes, Tim absolutely LOVED his meal:
Photo13Small-3.jpg

I got the mushroom filet this honestly was the best steak I had all week, probably ranks as one of the top 5 steaks I’ve had in my lifetime, it was sooooooo good, I loved the mushroom rice it came with too, in fact I’ve been craving it since we returned, I want to be back there now!!!! :
Photo15Small-3.jpg

Luke ordered the kids steak, on the menu it said add 2.00 for the kids steak, but we were happily surprised to find out it came with the dining plan, no added charges, yeah! He picked fries with his steak:
Photo14Small-3.jpg

Lauren continued to slumber as we ate (a REALLY peaceful meal):
Photo18Small-3.jpg

We ate every bit and when it came to desert we were full but decided to make room. Here is Tim’s “full to the brim” look:
Photo16Small-3.jpg

I tried to wake Lauren up at this point because Tim had gone ahead and ordered for her, we got her the soup because we knew she’d love it and the pasta. I was able to get her halfway awake and then I took her to the bathroom and dried her eyes, etc. (she was a little weepy when she got up at first). Our waitress, who was just so sweet offered to warm her stuff up for her. So Lauren was eating her dinner as our deserts arrived. I had seen pics of the cool deserts here so we ordered the two coolest looking and decided to give them a try.
Campfire Smores:
Photo19Small-3.jpg

These were so good. At first I was thinking “how in the world can we eat this” but give me a fork and I’ll figure it out : ) !!!! The graham cracker and chocolate thingies were soooo good and then that is ice cream sandwiched in between, get a fork out and dive in if you order this it is OUT OF THIS WORLD!!!
Then I ordered this cute little guy:
Photo20Small-3.jpg

This was pretty good too, the kids got a kick out of it, even got a little laugh out of sleepy Lauren.
This was one of the best meals of the trip (o.k. I now realize I’ve said that about Kona and OHana’s too, but this food was TOP NOTCH) I know understand why it is so hard to get a reservation here (I should really shut up I’m making it harder, guess I should say it was gross huh?) we will return here next year FOR SURE!!! Maybe our anniversary dinner!?!

After our DELICIOUS dinner we waddled out to find a spot for Illuminations. We wandered around and found a spot in Morocco that had nobody by the gate so we plopped down. It was already getting dark. We took some goofy pics as we waited:
Photo27Small-4.jpg

The kids enjoyed playing with the swords from John and Darlene:
Photo26Small-4.jpg

Thanks John and Darlene!!!!!!!
Photo24Small-3.jpg

Love was in the air:
Photo22Small-3.jpg

Photo23Small-3.jpg

Lauren got a little jealous of the smoochin’ pic so she wanted to kiss me too:
Photo25Small-2.jpg

Then of course Luke wanted to be in a picture (this cycle could continue all night : )
Photo21Small-3.jpg

Then the show began. As it did there was the sweetest CM (who looked to be a sanitation worker by the uniform) he was about in his late 60’s and he came up to us and were talking to the kids, asking where we were from, if we’d seen the show before, that we chose one of the best places to watch it,etc. He asked Luke if he wanted to start the fireworks (Luke thought this was so cool) He had Luke “blow out the lights” to the torches around the lake, Luke truly believed he started the show and it was so sweet of this CM to do this, it is people like this man who make Disney such a magical place to be!!! When the show was over Luke gave him a big hug, it was very cute and it seemed to make the CM’s night.
After the show was over we decided instead of running to the bus stop as we usually do we’d let the crowds get there first and we’d take our time getting to the bus stop (turned out to be a HUGE mistake). We stopped in some gift shops, made a few purchases, stopped in the restroom, let the kids play in the magical sidewalks – I just LOVE these:
Photo29Small-4.jpg

Enjoyed views like this:
Photo28Small-4.jpg

And just took our time getting to the bus stop.
When we got out to the bus stop it was about 45 minutes after Illuminations had stopped, we thought this would be such a great move. OH MY GOSH! I told Tim later I should have taken a picture of this because it really was the most unbelievable thing and in all our Disney trips we’d never seen anything like it. At Epcot POFQ and Port Orleans Riverside share a bus stop, the length of the stop goes about half of a football field, well as we looked at the number of “lanes” it was like 20 deep of people we were counting people and seeing how many motorized carts and wheelchairs there were, there were QUITE a few I noticed how LONG (half a football field it went) and I said “Tim, you think that is bad, look at how LONG it is” and I pointed, the look on Tim’s face was pure horror, we couldn’t believe it. I soooo wish I had taken a picture. At a rough estimate it would have been 20-25 bus loads of people, I’m serious, no exaggeration here. I called POFQ to inform them of the situation and find out which park had EMH that night, my plan was to take a bus to that park and get a bus from that park and then take a bus back to POFQ from there, I figured that would have to be the better way to go, we were looking at 1-2 hour wait here at Epcot EASY. So the person who answered didn’t seem to care about the bus situation and told me MGM had EMH that night. So we went to the MGM bus stop, it was practically empty, got right on a bus. When we got to MGM it was quite a hike from that drop off point to the POFQ bus stop. As we approached the stop I was praying it would be a short line, YES, not too bad. A bus quickly stopped and the line in front of us got on and we were assured a seat on the next bus which showed up in like 10 minutes, not bad at all, so about 20 minutes after our arrival to MGM we were on a bus to POFQ and we were SITTING on the bus with our two tired kids. We didn’t get back to the room until 11:00, we were pooped by this point. I couldn’t believe those lines at Epcot, UNBELIEVABLE!! If you are ever in this situation take the bus to the EMH park, worked like a charm!!!
Stay tuned, up next another MGM day, will I get to ride Rock n’ Roller Coaster this time??? Another run in with the dream squad, Special Remi appearance, another Diser run in and Fantasmic drama and wheelchair madness at the bus stop , stay tuned!!
Goodnight. . .
Lesley

Lesley.. another great installment, thanks so much for updating so often, it's so hard to get into those trip reports that take 2 weeks for an update.

So Le Cellier, what were the other kid options like?
