Tim and Lesley Year of Million Compromises/TONS pics- 8/5 help me pg. 164!!!

Hi Lesley,

I know you mentioned in your pre TR that you all where going to maybe try and do a EMH pm at the MK one night? I don't know if I missed it or am jumping ahead. But did you go to one and ride the rides? How was the crowd level? Also just wondering when you all did go back out at night for dinner and parades/fireworks did you also do some rides? Thanks again for the info just trying to plan how much we might be able to do in a day etc...

brings a happy magical disney tear to my eye!!!! so sweet!

okay....so i have a question. i thought the disney buses only ran from park to resort and vice versa...in other words, not from park to park? am i wrong about this? just wondering because that could save us some time next trip!

OMG, I have the same thought going through my mind. I also thought buses only go from resort to park - not park to park  . Very good question! :)

Lesley, I love how you are updating this report often with great details and wonderful photos. Thank you so much for sharing with us.

Those steaks look divine. Yummy!! How sweet little Lauren is snoozing. And thanks for the park to park bus tip. This I did not know either!

The food looks wonderful! I tried to get in to Le Cellier when my husband and I went in June but they where booked and when we go in August we aren't going to any parks so I guess I will have to wait until Nov. 2008. The dessert (smores) looks sooooo good! Poor Lauren she looks wiped out! I could not imagine having to wait 2 hours for a bus with two tired kids. Our kids where always wiped out by the end of the night and I prayed that we would have a seat on the bus and we always got lucky. Good thinking with the bus hopping!!! You are giving us all lots of great tips!!!:)

That is such a smart idea--to take a bus to the EMH park and another bus home from there--seems simple, but I never would have thought of that! Just may have to use that tip!:thumbsup2

YEs, great idea! I may be using this! Thanks!

I love to help.
Lesley

Yes, you do. I"m not sure you realize exactly how much help you are! The info in your TR reads like a novel so it is fun, but it is packed full of tips and ideas. You share experiences, good and bad, so we learn what to do and what not to do! You even answer every single post, to make us all feel the magic and feel special! You are a HUGE help!:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 Thanks so much for your time and caring about us!:grouphug:

Hey Lesley, I know this is your TR, but I had to share this picture. This is how we spent most meals last year at WDW. This is why we will be taking your advice and having a nice break every day. It's peaceful when they sleep, but we have the DDP credits, and it's harder to pay for food later when they're hungry b/c they missed the TS meal. Lauren sure is cute though!

Enjoyed reading about your evening. Lauren looked like a peaceful princess:

If you are like us you hate it when the kids sleep through most of the meal but you do get to enjoy yourself a little bit more....lol

I know it was a shock to see the lines for the bus. It probably did not help that you have to share with another resort. That is probably the main reason we won't stay at POFQ. The resort looks beautiful but I don't think I could deal with the bus issues.

We had the same shock when we saw the line for the bus after Fantasmic one evening. I actually considered calling a taxi. We waited for the bus instead. Now I know your little trick....lol:cool1:

I am so glad I got a Le Cellier Ressie! Great pictures and reviews. Good thing I read them over my lunch break at work, or I'd be starving right now. :)

Thanks so much for the bus tip. The one time I went to Illuminations in the past, it was an absolute zoo afterwards. So much that I almost decided against seeing Illuminations this time. It's good to know about a transportation trick like that. Makes me feel better about trying it again.

Your pics are SO cute - of course, I guess it helps that you have your cute kids and WDW as subject matter!!

Until I read your report, I had never been the least bit interested in Le Cellier, but you've piqued my interest.

That's insane about the bus line at Epcot!:scared1: Good thinking on the MGM solution, though. :thumbsup2

Thanks again for such a great TR!!

After our DELICIOUS dinner we waddled out to find a spot for Illuminations.

Wow after that review I will have to add it to my "To do list for our next trip"!

Then the show began. As it did there was the sweetest CM (who looked to be a sanitation worker by the uniform) he was about in his late 60’s and he came up to us and were talking to the kids, asking where we were from, if we’d seen the show before, that we chose one of the best places to watch it,etc. He asked Luke if he wanted to start the fireworks (Luke thought this was so cool) He had Luke “blow out the lights” to the torches around the lake, Luke truly believed he started the show and it was so sweet of this CM to do this, it is people like this man who make Disney such a magical place to be!!! When the show was over Luke gave him a big hug, it was very cute and it seemed to make the CM’s night.

Awwwwww so cute!

After the show was over we decided instead of running to the bus stop as we usually do we’d let the crowds get there first and we’d take our time getting to the bus stop (turned out to be a HUGE mistake).

This is something I would have done too...you know let the crowds go first...sounds like a good idea at the time!

OH MY GOSH! I told Tim later I should have taken a picture of this because it really was the most unbelievable thing and in all our Disney trips we’d never seen anything like it. the look on Tim’s face was pure horror, we couldn’t believe it. I soooo wish I had taken a picture. At a rough estimate it would have been 20-25 bus loads of people, I’m serious, no exaggeration here.

Even if they came every 10 min by the time they load and go...it must have taken them 3-4 hours to get back
So we went to the MGM bus stop, it was practically empty, got right on a bus. When we got to MGM it was quite a hike from that drop off point to the POFQ bus stop. As we approached the stop I was praying it would be a short line, YES, not too bad. A bus quickly stopped and the line in front of us got on and we were assured a seat on the next bus which showed up in like 10 minutes, not bad at all, so about 20 minutes after our arrival to MGM we were on a bus to POFQ and we were SITTING on the bus with our two tired kids. We didn’t get back to the room until 11:00, we were pooped by this point. I couldn’t believe those lines at Epcot, UNBELIEVABLE!! If you are ever in this situation take the bus to the EMH park, worked like a charm!!!

Wow I am impressed with this quick thinking...I bet you wouldnt have gotten back to PORFQ till close to 1 am otherwise. :sad2: Craziness but I am sooo impressed with your solution! Great job~ :thumbsup2

Lesley

Great update! popcorn::

Thanks Tim!! You're going to regret saying that. :rotfl: It's got to be a Disney song this time. I think the perfect song for you...is "Part of Your World" from the Little Mermaid. :thumbsup2 I'm thinking something like.... "wouldn't you think I'm a guy....a guy who wins EVERYTHING"

I know you can do it! :thumbsup2

O.K., so per request, another Tim original
Sing this to the tune of "Part of Your World" from Little Mermaid:
Look at this ears
Aren’t they neat?
Wouldn't you think my dream collection's complete?
Wouldn't you think I'm the guyl
The guy who has everything?

Look at this list of dreams
Surprises untold
How many dreams can one Dream Bag hold?
Looking around here you'd think
Sure, he’s got plenty of dreams

I've got fastpasses and autograph’s a-plenty
I've got trading pins and spray fans galore
[You want Mickey Mouse Ponchos? I've got 20!]

But who cares?
No big deal
I want more

I wanna be where the Dream Team are
I wanna see
Wanna see 'em giving away Dreams
Walking around with those
[What do you call 'em? oh, Dream Vests!]

Begging for dreams you don't get to far
Luck is required for winning or losing
strolling along down the
[What's that word again?] Main Street

There where they walk
Here where I run
Watching and waiting all day in the sun
Wandering free
Wish I could be
Part of that Dream

What would I give
If I could live
Up in that Castle?
What would I pay
To spend a day
Holding Mickey’s hand?
Bet'cha at Disney
They understand
Bet they don't make you wait in lines.
Bright young men
Sick of losing

Ready to WIN!!!

And ready to know what the Dream Team know
Ask 'em my questions and get some answers
What's a Dream Fastpass and how does it
[What's the word?] work
When's it my turn?
Wouldn't I love
Love to explore the Castle up above?

Out of the crowd
Wish I could be
Part of that parade

What would I give to live in the Castle
What would I pay to stay here with Mickey
What would I do to see you, Dreaming with me
Where would we walk
Where would we run
If we could avoid all day in the sun
Just you and me
And I could be..
Part of your
DREAM!!!!!

I don't know when
I don't know how
But I know something's starting right now
Watch and you'll see
Someday I'll be
Part of your
DREAM!!!!!!

Tim

:rotfl: OMG- that is too funny! Maybe one chapter of Lesley's book can be Tim's songs! Very clever!

I have only read your pre- trip report so far but am already loving it! Am looking forward to reading the rest! LOVE all of the pictures!

Poor Lauren and her head injury! That picture in the stroller needs to be displayed at her 16th birthday party!:rotfl:

I'm kicking myself for not getting an ADR at LeCellier now. Oh well, I guess we'll just have to go back...;)

Tim, you really need to start your own songbook...

[insert clapping hands] [insert standing ovation] WOW, Tim, you REALLY came through for us! :thumbsup2 I am truly impressed. I think you've outdone your first song. Now I'm going to think of this song as I am walking along scoping out the Dream Squad. :cool1:

OMG, love it. Tim have you considered Stand Up Comedy?

Seriously loving your TR Lesley, can't wait for more and hey think of this less than a year till your here AGAIN! Yahoo!

Glad the kids liked the light up swords, I saw them and couldn't resist and was hoping they would enjoy them.

:lmao: :lmao: Too funny, Tim!
